    From BBC site:

Manchester United will be without Jonny Evans for Sunday's visit of Fulham as the calf injury he sustained at Stoke remains an issue. Marouane Fellaini has suffered a groin injury in training and will miss another week, while Phil Jones, who suffered concussion in last weekend's defeat at the Britannia Stadium, has "a good chance" of playing.

Two transfers myself, Aguero -> Benteke and Chester -> Azpilicueta.

Planning to double up on Chelsea defenders from next week on.

Apparently Dzeko is fit for the squad but hopefully it's Negredo and Jovetic up front.

Hopefully not, thankfully the three of them all have fitness issues so I guess that makes any worries less worrying.

With the barca game coming up, game time will be limited for both Dzeko and negredo i imagine.

Yep with the European games coming up none of the 3 are guaranteed, same with the likes of Kolarov who gets rotated occasionally. Shame as their fixtures in the league are awesome

Is Flanagan a starter for Pool?

    Paddy Davitt ‏@paddyjdavitt Feb 6
#ncfc CH at colney. Ryan Bennett (thigh) not trained all week. Major doubt for #mcfc. Turner working outside now but not this weekend

Interesting so for those relying on Bennett against City there may be cause for concern. Also looks like Mickey might be back sooner rather than later :)

I was so sure Dzeko would be a solid transfer. I don't expect Dzeko to be a starter against Barca though so don't see him being cottonwooled too much. Also the Chelsea defeat will certainly deter Pellegrini from taking risks in these games. I fully expect (unless Dzeko or Negredo's injuries are worse than have been suspected) that Dzeko and Negredo will both start this week. Negredo possibly to be rested next week.

Trying to decide who to replace Evans with. I'm thinking Winston Reid but too many doubts. I could just play Kos, bank my transfer and have 2 for midweek and see what jumps out at me then. I could even make 3 transfers and take a -4 then and have a mini-reshuffle.

It's just annoying as Evans was ideal for this weekend. I'll have a ponder anyway. Other defenders are Kos, Danny G, Bennett and Cahill.

He had a shoulder injury which he is gradually recovering from.

Re Mannone/Boruc. I'm going with Mannone. All my rivals have him. None have Boruc.

Last week going with Boruc cost me 4 points on them.

They're the ones trying to catch me so it makes sense to play it safe.

And Dzeko just picked up an ankle problem too so his minutes will definitely be limited as will Negredos.

With CL and League/FA cup games coming up, they are rotation risks too so risky business picking one.

Yes, nailed on until Glen Johnson is back from injury.

Janujaz despite having great potential is not an FF player to consider this year IMO.
There are so many issues with him which would mean I would never consider him.
1 He is not a guaranteed starter
2 The fact he plays for Utd you will always want to play him even though he is supposed to be your 5th cheap mid. A lot of games he will only get you 1 pt as he will be subbed off early or subbed on late. You will invariably leave points on the bench.
3 He plays for a team that has huge competition for the position he plays. With mata now signed.RVP, mata and rooney will play every week. This leaves janujaz up against 5/6 other internationals for the one attacking place left in the team.
4 Bar his 2 goals against sunderland when nobody would have had him he has actually done little or nothing of note in FF terms since.
He could well start this weekend and score well but he isn't a good FF option. In a season or two Id Imagine he will be an essential FF player and man utd player.

Just to respond to this quickly. I agree now that Januzaj is not a good option going forward with Mata in the team and the two main men back. My advice to Mint Sauce earlier in this thread was only in relation to this weekend. There appears to be a general concensus that he will play against Fulham this gameweek, I just didn't consider it good business to ship him out at a four point hit for Zaha this week in particular, after that if I had him I'd definitely be shot of him for all the reasons you have pointed out.

Ye I agree if you have him I wouldnt get rid of him ahead of this game. I think he has to have a great chance of starting and getting decent points.

The four point hit I did consider, but after him costing me 10 points 2 GWs ago when he came on for 1 minute, and then could have cost me 10 points again last GW had he came on for a cameo, it was either leave him on the bench this week, or get rid.

Maybe their could have been better players in that price range, but then I feel when you are getting at that price range you want to get players from different teams, so to spread the risk rather than have a couple of players from the same team, which could have happened if went for someone else.

And as was pointed outm hopefully he will get more game time and starts now.

Any advice for my team? Started off quite well but fallen back a bit now, trailing my league leader by around 40 points so have a couple curve balls like holtby. Any advice appreciated!

Not 1 of your subs are guaranteed a spot in their team.

I wouldn't get Giroud, I'd say most teams have no Arsenal attacking cover at the moment. What about Lambert or J-Rod, good fixtures and cheap.

Countless people I know left their chelsea defenders on the bench last Monday and it didn't turn out too well. I am firm believer in playing your best players no matter what the opposition. That said, depends on who your sub would be. For example, a crystal palace defender would be a good shout for a clean sheet this week..

Looking at putting Kos on the bench too. Seems criminal to do it but there's no way I can see them keeping a cs.

With the situation as it is with City strikers I'm genuinely considering a punt on Jovetic for this little run of games, Dzeko and Negredo won't be put out time after time. Does anybody else have an opinion on this, I'd say Jovetic is very likely to start this week anyway, after that who knows.

Benching both of them! Starting Azpil, Yoshida and Brown who all have good games.

I was going to drop Mertesacker but with Evans ruled out Mert will have to start.

i've taken a shot with Zaha.

Carroll isn't going to come down in value before next week as he's such low ownership, so Zaha is my new 5th midfielder and i'll take Carroll out next week.

hopefully it's a Carroll-like result from last week minus the sending off!

    Mannone
    Coleman Ward Kompany
    Zaha Lallana Oscar Mata Eriksen
    Negredo Suarez (c)

    Marshall; Kos, Chester, Carroll

I would be heavily inclined towards Dzeko and Negredo starting. It's February and City are not top of the league and lost their last game.

Would Januzaj/Giroud to Colback/RVP make sense?

A talented youngster who will only play half of the remaining games to someone who should play most games as the cheap 5th mid.

A goal-shy striker to a guaranteed goalscorer who'll be the main man for a team that badly needs goals.

Also nearly tempted to go Silva to Lallana instead of Januzaj to Colback. But I already have Rodriguez

Dzeko and Cahill for Giroud and Turner

    What de yez think?

Benching Kos. Don't think they will keep a cleanie and I don't fancy his chances of scoring/assisting. Playing Chambers on the off chance he starts. If he doesn't, Coleman is my first sub.

Transferred Adebayor for Dzeko. Reckon City will be out for blood after losing to Chelsea and I'd fancy his chances over Negredo.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 12,092 ✭✭✭✭eh i dunno

Leaving Mert on the bench and starting Kolarov, Ward and Collins. Have Coleman but think i'll leave him on the bench away to Spurs

Giroud and Oscar OUT for either Mata & Dzeko (Suarez captain) or Eriksen & RVP (c)?

    All opinions welcome!

I was happy enough to bank my transfer but I don't have united coverage and this is concerning me. My main rival has both Mata and RVP. United a very much a mixed bag but Fulham are woeful.

I could bring in RVP at a 4 point hit. But I would really be doing this to ensure i keep in touch with my rival in case RVP goes wild. I don't see long term role in my team in RVP currently. Personally at that price there is too much uncertainly for me at the moment. If I bank my transfer my main differentials would be as follows:

    Him: RVP, Giroud, Mata
    Me: Negredo, Ade, Miralles

With doubts about around Negredo and Ade not firing lately, i think he has the upper hand this week. I am 22 points behind, but i was was over 100 behind at the beginning of Jan. I would love to keep the momentum going and keep the pressure on him. Any thoughts?

Here I am still in the same boat approaching deadline.
Decided not to go with RVP so if I make a transfer it will prob be Mata. I don't really want to get rid of Ade but I could do Ade and Mirales out for Rod and Mata.

Also, Mourinho said today Salah is selected to play tomorrow. Anyone worried Hazard might be rested? (I am!) He is a possible captain choice.

I'm thinking I'll just go with Kos and see how Evans is during the week. I'd like him for the Palace game. Kos is due a goal and Liverpool aren't exactly solid at the back.

With that do I do Ade to Dzeko or Santi to Silva. If Norwich end up playing Russell Martin at CB, with doubts over Bennett I think some form of City attack would be nice (was going to bring somebody in for midweek anyway). Although Bennett is incentive enough.

Haha well you're on a pretty hot streak atm so who am I to question :pac:

The ankle doubt has spooked me a little and it'd be typical of Ade to troll me after doing nothing for 2 weeks but I'll probably pull the trigger sometime tonight.
