But was Heaslip injured when he went off?

He came off injured a few weeks ago and has been substituted in every game since, imo he is managing a niggle.

He looked in agony after the first Wasps try

So a lot of the rugby public have been hoping for a Henshaw/Fitz midfield but equally, a lot us were willing to accept Schmidt might be a bit more conservative and go with D'Arcy or maybe Payne......after todays performance I think Luke Fitzgerald simply has to be picked.....regardless, it's brilliant to see such a talent back playing at his best!!

McFadden but his hand up big time. Plus, Schmidt is clearly a fan.....Zebo needs a big one tomorrow.

Jordi Murphy put in a great shift.

I haven't been sold on Jordi Murphy at all until today

Fitzgerald is great, Henshaw is great. I think they're both at their best at 13 which is a bit frustrating, but I'd love to see them in tandem... The brawn and offloading of Henshaw feeding the magic of Lukey... might as well just give us the medals now.

OH GOD, NO DON'T JINX IT.

But yeah, a Henshaw/Fitz midfield would be something to behold. I'm still thinking Saint Joe is going to go conservative on it though. I think we'll initially be seeing a Henshaw/Payne partnership with Fitz on the bench. Not what I want to see, what I think we'll see. Fitzgerald hasn't been in the Irish setup in quite some time.

    Darren Cave ain't a bad 13 either...

Cave hatrick. I'm a big fan of henshaw and fitz. 3 top quality 13's.
    Maybe for Italy
    9 murry if fit
    10 madigan
    11 futz
    12 henshaw
    13 cave
    14 bowe
    15 kearney

I don't think cave is going to go straight in like that hat trick or not. I think Henshaw, Fitzgerald and maybe Payne are all more likely to start there

Cave isn't getting in the 23 IMO.

Still not entirely convinced Fitz will start at centre either.

    Really??
. To be honest I would like to see him at 12 more than 13. But I think 11 is his best position

Can never get over how Cave puts these performances in for Ulster, yet has underwhelmed in most of his Ireland opportunities

Bowe is having a stormer tonight too, which is probably the most pleasing thing.

So.Reddan out of Six Nations I hear?
Could we see Marmion start vs Italy (not risk Murray)?

If Murray is fit he has to play. An inexperienced 9 beside an inexperienced 10 who have never played together is just asking for chaos

Zebo is the most likely starter at 11 tbf

Anyone guess the wolfhounds team for next Friday??

Do we know if Murray will actually be fit at that stage?

We could yet see Isaac Boss in an Ireland jersey again :(

He's in the squad anyway, so yeah, whether for the Wolfhounds or the first team, he'll most likely put on green again.

If Murray is fit for Italy then he starts. I'll freak out if Boss is ahead of Marmion.

In other news Iain Henderson just came through 60 minutes with Ulster.

  • Registered Users Posts: 13,264 ✭✭✭✭Fireball07

Marmion has to be ahead of Boss surely? Surely.

    How'd he get on?

    Was it at 6?

He was for the last squad so you'd presume so

No not injured, Lam likes to give Blade a run in Europe

Going by the match thread, pretty well. He started at 6.

Marmion will start the WH game and they'll take it from there. The guy is still very much unproven at the higher levels.

Hopefully he is given a fair opportunity to over-take Reddan in the pecking order too. Boss shouldn't be in the conversation/squad.

So 3 games down and the "only" injuries we are looking at are DK & ER correct? I think Jamie is ok going by what MOC said. Reddan will be the biggest worry if Murray is out.

Hopefully Munster will get through tomorrow without any major injuries. They have fewer players (say than Leinster) that will potentially be in the 23 so it a lower risk from a national POV.

    How'd Payne get on?
