Well said Ming - seems like the OP is happy enough to allow people to drink or bathe with contaminated water and pay for the pleasure. As others have pointed out here there's plenty of self serving sleeveens in suits in the Dail, so forming an opinion based on one's attire in this case is a bit myopic.

Which says a lot for the calibre of poster in this thread.

What right thinking person would provide undrinkable water to people and do nothing to fix it?

Irrevelent to Luke's appearance and behaviour.

In my opinion his appearance has no baring on the importance of the issue he was highlighting...perhaps I too am not a 'right thinking person' but I think contaminated water coming out of people's taps and lack of debate within our parliamentary process is far more important than Ming wearing a jumper and not a suit.

    "Ming Flanagan, that jumper, urgh"

    A quote from Gok wan.

Maybe the reason Mings so upset is because he bought a suit and unwittingly washed it in piss water and now it's ruined.

The problem is that how luke looks and acts has become the focus instead of what he said meant.

Of course it is, but that's not the point.

It's not one or the other.

Did anybody see his disgraceful behaviour in the Dáil chamber during the debate on the Water Services Bill this morning? First of all he turns up in a wooly jumper and denim jeans like a crusty while everybody else is wearing a suit (besides that other slob Wallace). Then he started ranting while using coarse language like "piss" - hardly befitting of a parliamentarian.

To anybody on the Left - this is why people laugh at you and don't take you seriously. This is why all the socialists are hidden in the very back corner while the big boys are talking. What an embarrassment. Ming could be in trouble with Dáil authorities after his outburst. Do you honestly thing he will ever progress beyond a one-term novelty backbencher. Imagine somebody like him representing Ireland in the EU parliament or in a ministry.

What are you on about?? The word piss is not banned in the dail and if handing the minister a glass of piss poor water contaminated with crypto is an act of vandalism what do you call being forced to pay for such water?!?

Most people couldn't give a flying **** what he's dressed like as long as he's representing their interests. If your water supply turned brown would you care if your TD was wearing a nice Louis Copeland number or would you care more that the problem gets addressed and fixed? Sometimes frank speaking is required to get a point across.

    And whose fault is that?

Reading this thread you could have fooled me.

Seems a lot of people believe Ming shouldn't be allowed to speak in the Dáil because he doesn't wear a suit and speaks in the vernacular rather than with the double speak/forked tongue we usually get.

Personally, I would rather her someone say 'piss' then the blatant lies we normally get from our elected representatives...you know - like that one our current government told about cutting down on the amount of legislation that would be guillotined...

I spoke to him for a few minutes when he was around here during the stand off over the bog cutting, he's not the gombeen people make him out to be.

Sure lots of people won't agree with his ideas but he will fight to the last for his constituents.

  • Registered Users Posts: 998 ✭✭✭dharma200

I am sure if any of his detractors here had that water coming out of their tap they wouldn't be too long praising him.
It's people like the op, who think a man in a suit doing nothing is more respect worthy and eminent than a man in a jumper jumping through hoops to serve the people who voted him in, that almost encourage the lazy thieving twats who walk the corridors of the dail in suits to have the stinking attitude to their constituents and the people on Ireland who have to not only put up with ****, but pay for that sh&t too...

I've ridiculed Ming on boards before over his appearance BUT he has spoken up about a lot of issues that his constituents are feeling aggrieved over which is a hell of a lot more than I can say the currently elected useless w@nker that is area.

Good on him and I for one am hoping that we will see more people like him (those will to speak for his constituents).

Ming is no more a vandal than this woman was a sexual devient but both a thorn in the establishments side

it's shocking to think what politicians can get away with while getting well paid from the publics purse yet simple innocent acts towards "authority" figures will not go unpunished!! Repeat after me "we are free, we are free, we are free!!"

Now shut up and jump back in your box

    http://www.independent.co.uk/news/world/europe/kiss-and-yell-italian-protester-charged-with-sexual-assault-after-kissing-riot-police-officer-9007265.html

An Italian student protester has been charged with sexual assault after she was pictured kissing a riot police officer's helmet during a demonstration last month.
The 20-year-old student was photographed kissing officer Salvatore Piccione during a protest against a planned rail link in Northern Italy.
Construction of the high-speed line is expected to reduce journey time from Milan to Paris from seven to four hours
The photograph of Nina De Chiffre subsequently went viral on social media and was hailed as a symbol of peaceful protest in the country.
However, COISP, a union representing Italian police officers, later revealed that they had lodged a complaint with Turin prosecutors.
Franco Maccari, the union's general secretary told La Repubblica: "We have accused the protester of sexual violence and insulting a public official.
"If the policeman had kissed her, World War III would have broken out," he said. "Or what if I had patted her on the behind? She would have been outraged. So if she does that to a man on duty, should it be tolerated?", he added.
"A kiss is a positive thing," he said. "But in this context, between these two people, it was just disrespect."
It later emerged that Nina De Chiffre had not only kissed the officer but had also licked her fingers and touched his mouth.
According to reports the protester has since been charged with "sexual violence" and causing "offence to a public official".
Speaking to TheLocal, riot officer Salvatore Piccione said: “ When I'm wearing my uniform I represent the police institution, and I have an obligation not to react to provocation."
"The important thing is that, in the end, the demonstration went ahead without disturbance.”

OP, i'm guessing you're middle class, with a well paid job, and nice car, and no real money worries yes? well guess what? i'm a married father of 5, who has been on a low income for years, with debt coming out me arse, and struggling to feed and clothe my kids, and one thing that was a plus was that our pathetic excuse for a government didn't charge for water and house tax like other countries. just as well too as the hideous muck that comes out of my tap, you wouldnt give to an animal, never mind a human being!! now we are about to be forced to pay for a sub standard water service, and the only thing you can do to argue about Mr flanagans protest at this is to criticise his dress sense???? **** off!!! people like you are what is wrong with this once beautiful country of ours. is it any wonder that the young people are all moving to other countries?? OP, you make me puke....

its a valid point badly made by a sideshow chimp . the problem that people who are genuinely worried or involved get tainted by the involvement of wasters like flannagan Wallace and daly . any cause that these three are connected to is automatically the lunatic fringe.

I dread to think that there's enough idiots in their areas to re-elect these claim making work shy fraudsters and liars and thieves

Thanks to the OP for bringing his appearance and actions to my notice.

Ming will be definitely getting my vote at the next election.
    Thanks again Romper.

That's a bit fresh when you're calling anyone who votes for someone you don't like as an "idiot" and calling Ming a "chimp". You're making no points, you're just flinging around abuse.

Can you explain what you mean by the lunatic fringe? And how exactly Flannagan and Wallace fit into this fringe?
