Pretty much the problems we've always had, that were merely papered over by the quality of Lynch and Wilson's legs. Remove those two components and our offence has always been bang average.

Play calling was so predictable - always running on early downs let the Rams stack the box and get into a rhythm.

I also can't figure out why you have a 6"7 inch Jimmy Graham and NEVER use him on seam routes.

Hopefully things get a bit more inventive as Cable gets the new O-Line into shape.

Better even if it is only the 49ers.

Turning one eye to the Jets game.

I think Wilson would have got away from the tackle that hurt him if his right ankle was 100%. Hope he's properly fit next week

    Delighted Boykin got a TD.

Sprained MCL for Wilson. Team are hopeful he'll make the Jets game.

  • Registered Users Posts: 4,977 ✭✭✭TheDoctor

    No problem for Wilson.

Time to recoup during the bye week.

    3-1 not bad.

    Falcons looking decent

    Tough game next week

    Off you go Sherman

Incredible first half from the defence.

    Spoke too soon.

You know, Wilson has overthrown wide open receivers at two crucial third down moments to contribute to this situation.

But fair play to Ryan, he is surviving an absolute pounding here and still moving the ball.

Should have gone for that fourth and inches. It let the Falcons keep the momentum

  • Registered Users Posts: 10,969 ✭✭✭✭alchemist33

    Jesus.

Lucky at the end but we did well to knuckle down and reverse the momentum. A huge win.

Massive. 4-1 is the best start we've had in a few seasons.

Defence got the big stop when needed.

Badly missed Kam in the third.

2 game lead now in the division.

    Arizona next weekend.

Wilson is still pretty beat up, his throwing and decision making are still way off.

  • Registered Users Posts: 1,293 ✭✭✭coco0981

Sherman so lucky to get away with that no call at the end. Great win.

Thought Kearse had pass interference on him on the long ball down the field. Falcon player had his right arm.

Wilson is definitely battered. Doesn't have the speed and looking to get the ball away quickly with short passes.

Injuries could be our downfall this season.

Teams pretty beat up and has 11 weeks now of football.

Yeah, I was looking at the schedule for the next few games and it's pretty brutal too - Arizona, the much improved Bills and New England all to come in the next 4 games. I wonder, do you gamble now at 4-1, give Willson a couple of weeks off to heal up a bit, hope you scrape one win from the next 4, and have him back at 100% to take on the second half of the season starting with a record of around 5-3. Or do you risk continuing to play him now and potentially lose him for the rest of the season...

Win next weekend and I would be shocked if we didn't get the NFC West this year to be honest.

  • Registered Users Posts: 10,969 ✭✭✭✭alchemist33

With the tougher games coming up I think the time to rest Wilson has passed. We'll need to be high seeds in the conference to progress.
