    That was ugly

So ugly, but exciting all the same.

Just saw the highlights and even though I knew the result (thank you Seahawks app. You'll tell me about traffic in Seattle when I don't want it and tell me the result when I'm trying to avoid it) my heart was in my mouth. I don't mind the field goal fail when we could have lost the game already in so many ways. When nothing seemed to be working all night it showed a lot of character to hang in there and level the game. A tie away to a big divisional rival is not a bad result in the cold light of day.

Glad I didn't stay up though. I'd never have been able to get to sleep after!

Win tonight to go second seeds in the NFC at the half way point in the season.

Mental considering how we've been playing.

Let's win it first! I think the near-two week hiatus in posts here reflects how sickened we were by last week's result.

I didn't see it, then seeing the result didn't watch it.

But yes the silence said enough!

Jimmy Jimmy Jimmy, was catching for fun.

Got up at half 4 and watched the last quarter.

    Standard heart attack finish.

5-2-1 is probably better than we've played in the first half of the season.

    Jimmy's winning catches,
    Jimmy's winning games,
Jimmy's bringing Vince back to Seattle again...

Anyway, watched the highlights last night and was pleased Russell running like the Russell of old, and some decent offense. And the finish... good God, again

Obligatory mention that I will be at Gillette Stadium Sunday night

Looked like it, what a result !

A nervous final 2 minutes, a wall of defence stood up though.

    Damn, you chose well.

    So back home and alive.

    What a game.

Straight away could see the o-line were able to give Russell more time than normal and it showed in the passing, picking out receivers all over the field.

Patriots had Graham tracked which left room for Baldwin.

Prosise was class, had not seen much of him before now.

Defence was their usual self, Brady under pressure a lot and handed the ball off more than usual. Kam got the big turnover in Q4 and the whole lot with a big stop at the end.

Where did you get the tickets?

In other good news, Rawls is training and should be ready to play this week

  • Registered Users Posts: 4,977 ✭✭✭TheDoctor

On Seat Geek - plenty of tickets there, Patriots obviously expensive but fell the week before the game

Rawls/Willson due back this week and Bennett aiming for the Bucs game the following week.

Also the silent stadium at the end of the fourth was amazing with only a handful of people cheering!

    Baldwin 1/1 20 yards 1 TD 0 Int

That wilson touchdown was a surprise.

    I've never seen that before.

Nice move. Shame we stopped playing after that. Was a good performance until mid way through the third.

  • Registered Users Posts: 10,969 ✭✭✭✭alchemist33

Was still good though, and that's a nice bit of momentum. It'll be a hard job to top the Cowboys but the Division is looking good.

3 clear in the division with 6 to play, that's in the bag.

Resigned to not catching the Cowboys, they have a nice enough schedule.

Looking at getting that no.2 seed and making sure we have the bye week to start the playoffs. Much more pleasant than a -20c trip to the Vikings.

I'd fancy us against the Cowboys in the NFC game, even if it is in Dallas.

Were in a great position for Top 2 now though.
Cowboys have Redskins and Giants in the next 3 weeks.
If Cowboys beat them, were sure to get 2nd spot. If they lost to either of them, we'd be in with a great chance to get home advantage throughout the playoffs.

Great to see Rawls healthy again though, he reminds me of Alexander. His vision is incredible. We look better since that desperate Cardinals game, but the Tie could actually be good for us come week 16.

Our O line is like swiss cheese tonight. Don't think I've ever seen it so bad.

At least the Rams and Cards lost too

  • Registered Users Posts: 4,977 ✭✭✭TheDoctor

Yeah pretty bad, need a few of the injured bodies back for next weekend.

Still sitting no.2 and with the division being so bad this year will definitely be going to the post season.

  • Registered Users Posts: 4,977 ✭✭✭TheDoctor

So the most comfortable game we've had in a long long time.

Shame about ET III getting hurt. Would have been a perfect night otherwise.

Rawls looking back to his explosive best.

Onto Lambeau! Hopefully the weather is better than they had there last night.

OK lads.... It's looking good for the Super Bowl, right ?

  • Registered Users Posts: 4,977 ✭✭✭TheDoctor

    One game at a time!

Say 3 wins in the last 4 would get us the no.2 seed and the bye to the divisional round which would be at the Clink.

Been pretty solid at home this season (6-0) so I would fancy our chances of getting to the NFC game.

Getting past the Cowboys in their house would be tough though. And then who knows who goes to SB51 from the AFC side. Patriots, Raiders, Chiefs, Broncos would all be tough games.

Lots depending on injuries at this stage in the season.

A night to forget in every department, barring a miraculous turnaround. It's hard to imagine any tilt at the conference, even, with the weaknesses being exposed.

Rams getting spanked too. Maybe, just maybe, next week is when we finally smash them.
