Picked up the Borg Sphere...seems a decent enough effort? Reliant next week...can't wait, this better be a good one as it's one of my favourite ships

I think the Reliant is in the shops since Thursday and from early accounts they seem to have done a great job with it. Haven't received the Sphere/Reliant delivery yet myself (24 days after payment) but probably next week due to Christmas. Can't wait for the Akira next, a favourite with all of us I think!

Ah right, what do you think of the future-timeline D?

Oops, just noticed I forgot to answer that. It's the same ship as issue #1 with the following bolt-ons.
    • 3rd nacelle & nacelle caps.
    • Bridge extension & antennae.
    • Go faster nacelle spoilers.
    • BFG. This is awesome in fairness. Negh'Var's bane!

Apart from those it looks the same at first glance but the paint job isn't quite s good as issue #1. The contrast between the two greys isn't as distinct as it should be and the white isn't as clear. One other thing I've noticed is the future 1701-D has a better translucent red plastic for the bussard collectors. Issue #1's is very dark red by comparison.

Still though, all I can see from the front with those yellow antennae is:

Curious to know people's favourites so far?

Not so much on a modelling level (Issue #4's perfect Enterprise takes that by a country mile) but moreso the ones that provoke that little bit of magic for you when you look at them.

Looking at them all it's the D'deridex and the 1701-D that strike particular chords for me but I was genuinely surprised to realise the one I want the most is the Enterprise-E - the end of May for anyone wondering.

The Reliant is out since last Thursday!

Another nice model. Be careful when selecting the one you buy, the registry information on the saucer seems misaligned on some.

Oh! I didn't know that, the guy where I bought the Sphere said next week for the Reliant...maybe they get them in a week later or something.

Have decided to bow out of collecting these. Gonna sell off the collection so far, shamless link :o - http://www.adverts.ie/models/star-trek-models/4633652?notification=d9cfe4a5556a2fb57b2639f700e6ae2a-1390239062

Yea I never bothered picking any of the others up either. If anyone wants the ships only (1701-D, 1701, NX-01, Voyager, D'Deridex and the K'Tinga) let me know. €40 collected from D18.

  • Moderators, Computer Games Moderators Posts: 15,228 Mod ✭✭✭✭FutureGuy

Picked up the USS Thundechild yesterday. Nice model!

My gf looked at it and said "Hmm...that looks like the NX-01"

I am so delighted to be marrying this woman :D

Do jealous future, all I get is when I'm watching an ep "if I remember seeing this episode then you've seen it" small win I suppose!

I'm really looking forward to the special addition Enterprise. I think there must be something wrong with me! In fairness they made a fantastic job of that ship.

Is it too late to start collecting these from Issue 1? How many issues will there be in total? Trying to work out the complete cost before I commit. Thanks for any tips!

Yes, you can still subscribe from the beginning. Or you could pick and choose from the ones so far via the shop and then separately begin your subscription from a later issue. There might be a delay getting some of them out to you if they've gone out of stock temporarily. There are 70 issues planned excluding specials. There will probably be somewhere around 5 specials in all. Estimate is around €1,300 (€16 each + infrequent binders/specials etc) between the start and the end which will be around the end of April 2016. Once you're caught up to the current issue they arrive every 2 weeks two at a time. Customer service is top notch. I've contacted them 3 times to date via PMs through their facebook page and they've sorted every query straight away, no questions asked.

Thanks for that. SOoooooo tempted to go for it. Only thing that's holding me back is my wallets already taking a hit with all the Star Trek blu rays coming out these days. But I need this subscription sooo bad

It's not worth it tbh. There's chaos in customer services they got so many complaints over the lack of detail and assembly errors. Underwhelming is the best thing I can say about it.

    Hi Folks,

Anyone that has subscribed to this can they let me know what the average charges are a month. I think I might have been double charged all along for this as the numbers don't add up. I have been paying via Paypal and running total including Aprils payment will be around the 570 mark which is waaay off. I have emailed eaglemoss today to see what the story is.

Example of Feb, Mar, Aprils payments
    11/02/2014 PAYPAL *EAGLEMOSSLT ST 24.92
    12/02/2014 PAYPAL *EAGLEMOSSLT ST 31.98
    11/03/2014 PAYPAL *EAGLEMOSSLT ST 33.63
    11/03/2014 PAYPAL *EAGLEMOSSLT ST 41.97
    08/04/2014 PAYPAL *EAGLEMOSSLT ST 25.05
    08/04/2014 PAYPAL *EAGLEMOSSLT ST 31.98

The 31.98's make sense as thats whats supposed to be charged but the others on the same dates do not make sense to me.

Can you let me know what you have if you are subscribing also?

    Thanks,
    B~

Any time I've had an extra charge was for a special (usually round 20 I think)that just seems like that are picking random numbers to charge you!

Something wrong there for sure. You're being billed twice each time, mix up in their accounts dept. I'd say. Ignore the dates at the start as I was playing catch-up but here is what you should have been billed to date and what each payment was for:

    16/10/2013 - €25.98 - 1, 2 & 3
    22/10/2013 - €31.98 - 4 & 5
    22/10/2013 - €31.98 - 6 & 7
    11/11/2013 - €22.49 - DS9
    20/11/2013 - €31.98 - 8, 9 & Future Ent-D
    18/12/2013 - €31.98 - 10 & 11
    15/01/2014 - €31.98 - 12 & 13
    03/02/2014 - €28.49 - Abramsprise
    11/02/2014 - €31.98 - 14 & 15
    10/03/2014 - €41.97 - 16 & 17 & binder
    07/04/2014 - €31.98 - 18 & 19

The Maquis Raider is unreal - another in the increasingly high percentage of quality models. The contours are incredibly detailed and the subtle scratched/damaged effect paintjob really suits it. Such a cool litle ship.

    Guys and gals,
The Vengeance Special Edition is in uber-short supply. Just bought one on eBay. It seems every Easons received just one!

  • Registered Users Posts: 1,717 ✭✭✭Raging_Ninja

I haven't seen any of these recently in the Easons I've walked into - anyone where else sells them?

I have all of these to date. If people are interested I can get the DSLR out and take some photos. Some great ships in there.

I'd be interested in seeing those, I collected up to a point but then bailed & sold off what I had

Has anyone seen the Shuttle 4 pack they are releasing? It looks good- it has a shuttle from TOS TNG DS9 and VOY with the usual magazines and 4 Okudagrams but the price is ridiculous £75 sterling!

I unsubscribed from all the Abrams ships ages ago and won't be getting the shuttles. Total rip-off.
