My first job will be to pick a team with RVP AND Bale and see what it looks like.

Dempsey down to 7.5, from 9M last season, not bad value.

I'm certainly thinking Nathan Redmond at 5.0 could be a revelation and if the Wolf starts firing I'll have 3 Norwich players
Think he is overrated myself and he only scored two goals from 38 appearences in the championship.

    My first attempt.

Shaw is 4.5, how much will he play?

  • Registered Users Posts: 17,022 ✭✭✭✭Iused2likebusts

delighted with the prices it should be a much harder game this year. It was too easy to fit in all the big guns last year.
    Initial thoughts
Gks Im looking at de gea 6.0 and boruc 4.5

Defs toure 5.0 coleman 5.0 turner 4.5 and terry 6.0 all look good value.

Mids bellamy 5.5 sissoko 6.0 shelvey 5.5 all have potential. Will definetly have walcott hes worth 9.5. Bale at 12.0 is going to be tricky.

Fwds. Rooney at 10.5 if he went to arsenal or chelsea and bent at 6.5 if he goes to newcastle. Have RVP and Aguero at the minute.

Shaw played 1949 min out of a possible 3420. He'll be their first choice left back this season

    Atm, mine is

    Vorm, Stekelenburg

    Shaw, Ollson, Pieters, Mertesacker, Yanga-Mbiwa

    Navas, Bale, Tonev, Mirallas, Kagawa

    Bony, Aguero, Anelka

Obviously will be changed closer to the season but not a bad first attempt as of now imo.

Here is my 2nd team .

    GK Hart - Boruc
    Def Cuellar - O'Brien - Garrido - Clyne - Figueroa
Mid Bale - Diame - Puncheon - Cazorla - Routledge
For Kone - Long - RVP

    playing 3-4-3 as read

Any coments would be greatfully received .

walcott is a much better option than cazorla imo.

Going for the Foster-Boruc keeper rotation.

    Clyne over Shaw-more proven.

Quite happy atm, no Aguero but I was screwed over with the faith I put in him last season, happy to just have RVP, RVW and an as yet undecided 3rd striker-Jay Rodriguez as a placeholder for now.

No Bale, going for Lennon as Spurs cover-Bale always starts slow, maybe that will change this year but I'm not putting him in yet anyway.

Want to fit Kagawa in but with RVP I have United cover and I like having someone off the big 5 teams. Going for Gibson as my cheapy atm but that is another provisional one.

Interesting plan here for defenders: http://www.fantasyfootballscout.co.uk/2013/06/19/frisking-the-fixtures-gameweek-1/?hc_page=8#hc_comment_4986759

Some people really do put a lot of effort into this game!

Its a close call , it would save me 0.5 mill

Not really worrying too much about my first draft at this stage. Most of the top teams have yet to make much movement in the transfer market, could easily change things dramatically.

Cake, and grief counseling, will be available at the conclusion of the test

I'm hoping City don't buy any strikers, Dzeko is a bargain at £7.5m

    Cheap attacking MF options:

    £4.5m - Dikcgacoi
    £5.0m - Brady, Wanyama
    £5.5m - Bellamy, Puncheon

if rooney does leave hernandez at 7.5 could become a bargain? although it'd be hard to see rooney leave and not be replaced but you never know, they might prioritise the rooney money into getting cesc or someone of his like

toure at 5.0 seems like a good option too?

and what about fabianski at 4.5? didn't he get a run at the end of last season or is sczeney (sp?) back as number 1?

Fabianski won't be Arsenal's number 1, it'll be Szczesny or another.

Toure if he was guaranteed to start would be good value, that's not really the case though.

boateng 4.5m for fulham is great value too

couldn't sleep without doing at least one draft...

This is where im at before the rest of the transfers are made! It leaves me 2 mil in the bank to bring Sturridge in! Pay no attention to the formation i would have Lampard and Lambert in there over Diame and Cuellar

First complete draft, looking good I think.

Anyone managed to get a decent team in with Bale, Van Persie and Aguero in it? I'm trying, but it's very tough! Enjoying it though, there should be plenty of different teams this year.

  • Registered Users Posts: 4,417 ✭✭✭IncognitoMan

You could try it with dzeko instead of augero paully

  • Registered Users Posts: 28,710 ✭✭✭✭Paully D

Aye, it works a bit better with him, although I fully expect City to sign another striker who will take most of Dzeko's game time.

Van Persie is the biggest conundrum really. £14m is a huge price, at that sort of money he's almost a differential

Do we know who the starting full backs are for Arsenal this year lads? Sagna on the right, but who out of Monreal or Gibbs will be on the left?
