    That is adorable :)

My dog Wilbur does something similar, if he jumps up on the sofa beside you he insists he has to have one paw on your lap, if you move it off he just keeps moving it back.
Also your arm has to be around him, if its not he tilts his head back and stares at you until you do.

my dogs often eat something whole - if its a super yummy treat, do they even get to taste something if they just swallow it?? Wierd, you would think they would chew it to get more enjoyment and flavour out of it - and even prolong the experience??

They call it "inhaling" food! My JRT Bassett cross is a high ranking professional at this . Pure greed? Or scared lest someone else gets it? Or maybe she thinks that if she empties her dish fast enough I will think I forgot to fill it. ;)

Yep. It can go wrong though; when she was younger she got something firmly stuck on the roof of her mouth... I had no idea I could use a blunt knife so fast to lever it out.... and of course she grabbed it and ate it...

Took the dog out at almost first light, as it was such a lovely day. I am all but at a crossroads and we usually go ahead or right.

She hung back when I decided on left.... new territory..new smells...

We had a decent walk then headed home.

Got to the gate and the basset face and dragging feet act arrived...Not seen that for ages so I guess we will be going left for a while.. She looked as if she was going back to prison! Such an act!

Spent 21 euro on dog treats for my Murphy - seven different kinds, all his favourites.

What did he want to eat ? My Oreo chocolate!!!!

So I am enjoying a lovely hot dinner and suddenly a black and white paw steals out and aims for the gravy..creeps along the table... followed by a pair of the hungriest most starving eyes you ever saw.. CAT! He is a gannet this one...

My dog had a stroke 4 days ago she’s 14 yrs old collie, lost the use of her legs , eyes flicking left to right constantly, heaving breathing and extremely thirsty, I brought her to emergency vet who said best option was to put her to sleep , I refused to do that, maybe being selfish but I just couldn’t do it, but I was really thinking the worst

4 days later, Today she is walking around like nothing happened, eyes, balance appetite have all returned to normal, I’m truly amazed at her recovery , to say the least this made me more than smile!!

I can't decide whether four border terriers would be the best thing ever or complete insanity.... both? ;)

That's almost miraculous, and I'm absolutely over the moon to hear this, even though I don't know either you or your dog! :)

My friend has a border terrier bitch. She also has 2 German Shepherds, a Rottweiler and a staffie. They ALL bow to the tiny Border Terriers every whim, demand and wish! Its nearly comical. If any of the 4 big dogs have anything - e.g. a stuffed toy/sock/stick - they look at her, she comes over, checks it out, if she wants it she takes it, if not they can keep it :D:D:D At night she chooses which bed she wants at any given time, if theres a dog in it, they just get up, sigh, and go squish in with someone else. Theres no snapping/growling/domination or anything, shes just the boss, no aggression required, and thats that !

I've the opposite! My border terrier dog lets my GSD have whatever she wants. He is also quite the masochist and encourages any foster dogs we have to pull him around the place by his scruff (he likes to stick his neck in their mouth til they chew on him too - he's entirely up for this). :o

Maybe one bitch and a team of dogs is the solution to my border terrier pack dreams! :pac:

I had 4. Lets just say there was never a dull moment. A little known fact about Border Terriers - they sing/howl just like Huskies if you have more then one. Must go back to their working with hound days.

Don't ever try to sneak into the house after a night out........ as soon as they hear the car pull in, they sing. Even at 2am.

A friend of mine has several with Huskies. She tells me many funny stories about the joint sing songs and other mischief they get up to.

Well done. I had a cat at death;s door once and held on to her like that and suddenly she turned a corner like that. I had her with me in bed, well wrapped etc and truly she was at the point of no return.

I know this post does not really fit here but ...........I just adore my dog so much. Everything he does amazes me and always makes me smile. The way he runs, his love of tennis balls, belly rubs, squeaky toys, loves been the centre of attention and of course walks. Sometimes he looks like he is smiling. I even love listening to him snore. I always hope that he is happy and has everything he needs. He communicates in his own little way with me but sometimes I wish he could just tell me that he happy and don’t need anything else. And why he loves one raggey old toy instead of all his newer ones, even the new version of the raggey toy!!

I was reading about the poor dogs found in galway and it just broke my heart and it just got me thinking about my little doggy.

My cat Kiki absolutely loves bird and fish videos on YouTube, especially the bird videos (Bird and Squirrel Extravaganza is her favorite). She bats at the screen and searches around the computer to see where those pesky fish/birds/squirrels have run off to. She'll do it for as long as I let the video play. I love watching her watch those YouTube videos.

Khali is a peacekeeper which in itself makes me smile a lot. But lately she's taken to breaking up the cats fights and there's actually something so sweet about it.

The cats love each other but sometimes their play gets a bit ... Wild! A couple of minutes later, they'll be cuddled together grooming each other and happy out so presumably it's not as bad as it looks. Still though, I used to have to let out the odd shout or loudly clap my hands to break them up.

But if Khali is in the room she reacts before I even have a chance. Just at that moment where the play starts getting a bit too rough, she runs over and they jump apart and race in opposite directions. The really cute part is , then she checks them out one at a time. She'll pop over to Axel and sniff him all over, make sure he's OK and give him a quick lick. Then she'll find Oscar and do the same. It's adorable.

    Mr C does this with the piggies! The white one is let’s say ‘assertive’ so he always perks up with a head tilt if he thinks the dark one is in trouble :-{

He’ll run over to wherever they are & nose H in the bum or stick his snout between them if there is substantial head butting going on.

Khalis reliability meeting other dogs never fails to make me smile. Have been meeting lots of new dogs over the last week or so as I've changed the times I'm walking her.

If the other dog is nervous she seems to let them lead. If they're a bit wild , she stays calm. And on the rare occasion a strange dog has turned on her or growled at her to stay back, shes always immediately walked away.

Im talking about off lead dogs here. We don't approach on lead dogs unless their owner makes it clear it's ok to.

Best of all is when she meets puppies. I've noticed a fair few people walking puppies but nervous of them meeting other dogs (probably just afraid of something happening) but Khali always has a lovely friendly little meeting with them, doesn't get upset if they start jumping on her or trying to play. You can see it makes the pups owner delighted too. A positive socialisation experience. Yay!

That sounds really lovely, we still have dog to dog issues, I had done soooo much work and we’ve had some major improvements and then I let down my guard & poor Mr C was injured. Although he is super good & polite at the Vets and in public as long as we have significant distance from other dogs & this can be extremely difficult to achieve.

Oh Hiro is still a work in progress. Like yourself we've had some good improvements but also some set backs. It's probably why Khalis lovely greetings make me so happy. Khali and Hiro are such vastly different dogs it's a wonder they adore each other so much. Opposites attract! ;)

The feral cat that I have befriended, Big Ging, has just learned to use the shelter I gave him, and now lets me stroke him to my hearts content. He even tries to miaow when he sees me, but he is not a natural miaower. He always reminds me of the kid in Bad Santa trying to sound tough in the boxing ring (@1:05 in the video). Makes me laugh every time :)
