Lots of sketchy bits and pieces over the scanner. Think nearly every lone bag is being treated as suspect, did I hear a hit and run?!? And who was the guy meeting at Logan?

The amount of suspicious packages being called in are crazy. Two in the last 5 minutes on that scanner.

I've read that the NY Post is the U.S. version of the Sun etc. To be taken with a large pinch of salt.

If I'd known that I wouldn't have poster that link earlier.

:( That poor guy. That picture is visceral. Just absolutely horrific.

I hope he made it/makes it.

FFS, that is more than NSFW and I really think you should put a bigger warning on that and I actually don't see the point in posting it to be honest.

    MOD NOTE:
I've added a larger warning to this image.

Folks. Considering the news I think that any picture linked is likely to contain blood and / or gore. Please think before you click about whether or not you actually want to look at such images.

Consider how many bags have been dropped in the panic to get away from the area

Not a nice pic to be circulated for a family member to see. Nice of the photographer

    Sigh.

Remember the bomb in Oklahoma it was all over the news channels placing the blame on middle eastern terrorist's. All along the bomber was home grown.
Still this is an awful tragedy.

Every runner probably had a backpack of some sort and I'm sure a lot got discarded or forgotten when this happened so not unusual at all I would say

Feel sick and am so glad that I am not in Boston. Must be terrifying now as more and more "suspicious packages" are being found. I know they are probably only stuff people dropped in panic but still so scary. A friend of mine is there and have been worrying about her but she just liked something on fb so I know she is ok.

RIP to those who have died.

    Why is it amazing?
I'd imagine that security would be extremely tight for such an event.

Other than the one person who was banned, nobody came out with a statement such as "lynch all Muslims".

I hope this is not just the beginning of a larger attack on Boston. God knows with some of these sicko's, this could be just a diversion.

Reports of Marathon Runners that crossed finish line, continued to run to Mass General Hospital to give blood

Such a high profile event it's amazing that any sort of device was able to be planted. The same goes for the JFK library. I wonder if there will be other explosions to come.

packed event like that isn't to hard, drop bag, kick in front of someone else, everyone thinks its someone elses or has their attention on the race. nobody would really notice until it was to late

They're showing the same gruesome images on most of the news channels, so I don't know why people are reacting so angrily to others reposting them here.

I'd guess it's unlikely there will be another explosion. There probably wouldn't be anywhere with a dense enough population and it's been a while since the explosions started.

Of course, the hospitals and any hotels would be obvious targets if there is another.

    Use caution clicking images.

It's to be expected considering what has happened. They might upset a lot of people, but there is no way to sugarcoat this incident at all, its the reality of it.

Some news outlets are unbelievable. I mean, his legs had been blown off. And they take pictures.

What did you think you were going to see with something marked NSFW??

Oh well I meant on boards. I guess you could dig anything up from the extremes of any view on the internet at this stage.

No offence but who in the right mind puts up pictures of some poor fella with one (possibly both?) of his legs pretty much blown off! People shouldn't be allowed to put things like that up!
Just seen a pic of a guy in a wheelchair with both legs blown off, jayus.
Thought there would be many more deaths from the footage.

Any source to the reported jfk bomb?

Have not seen that picture, but prehaps he was a disabled athlete, and its just a coinsidence.

Reporter on BBC being interviewed being very careful with choice of words.

    'Explosion, not Bomb'.
