I already have the Logitech wireless K400 keyboard with mouse pad - will test this on it when I get hold of this media player and let you guys know if it works.

Made the plunge myself (don't quite know why...) - how do people intend controlling this device btw (remote not included). Droidmote app perhaps?

You will probably need to use this older Netflix apk as the one available in Google play doen't work on many of these android sticks.

Does it interfere with the wireless router in anyway? I had a audio video sender once that used to kill the wifi when it was switched on.

That was probably due to an analogue video sender transmitting on the same frequency as wifi, 2.4 ghz, and causing interference.

This should act just like any other wifi device but remember that the WiFi performance may not be great in something this cheap.

Judging by the image of the box I'm going to say no, but that depends on your posty - he could make it fit..

Trying to find out some real info on it.

    It appears to be a U1 not a U2.

looks like this crowd is making it http://www.smallart.com.cn/

Has anyone found a thread on xda or some other info about custom roms for it?

I've ordered one, along with this mouse/keyboard http://dx.com/p/jyb-03-3-in-1-2-4ghz-mini-wireless-keyboard-laser-trackball-mouse-ir-remote-control-combo-w-usb-177191
I also ordered a powered USB hub from DX to have on hand should I need it.
Hopefully DX will ship before Chinese New Year, otherwise we'll be waiting!

If it is the same as the uhost 1a, this forum should be worth noting

Can the device in OP be operated out of the box without a need for a external mouse or keyboard?

I wouldn't think so, no input device shown in the pics on DX.

Just to clarify, the item DX is selling is NOT a U2 OR a UHOST2 it is the UHOST U1.

And the U2 referred to in the link above is not the UHOST U2 either, it is the ORDROID U2 which is a different animal again.

If ever a thread needed it's own stickie it's this one.

How many ways can people ask if it'll work with a mouse without reading the thread ?

I assume this is just a hardware platform? i.e. Allwinner A10?

    What are the differences?

I am at risk of getting out of my depth here, but the U1 (the one dealextreme are selling in the OP) uses the ALLWINNER A10 1ghz Cortex A8.

and the UHOST U2 uses the Rockchip RK3066 1.2GHz Cortex-A9.

Not sure what the ORDROID U2 uses though. but I think it uses a quad core Samsung chip

Comparison of various models of these type of things here, might be muddying the waters by posting this though.

The Odroid U2 uses a quad core Samsung chip and is a great bit of kit, way out of this price league especially with the high shipping costs...

I've used a Logitech keyboard and mouse (wireless) on my Android phone, no problems.

If it comes with a power supply then no. I got the Rikomagic and it was in a box similar to that of an iPhone

Just a heads up for anyone ordering any sort of Android stick/box and looking to run XBMC on it...

Check out the Android hardware requirements on the XBMC Wiki first...

    http://wiki.xbmc.org/index.php?title=Android_hardware

XBMC have only recently started to release an Android release of XBMC... their general advice is...
Note: It is highly recommended for users to not make any purchases in anticipation of running XBMC on Android. In other words, don't buy anything yet until development is further along!

My intention is to use something like this mini Android for XBMC, but XBMC's info is putting me off... for now.

Has anyone on here got something like this stick running XBMC successfully?
