placed 94th as well. theres no gurantee of a job at the end. its a panel thats being created that will fill any future vacancies

Order of merit does mean something I'm afraid. I passed the cork fire brigade exams been placed 176 but they only called up to and excluding 155 so I was out. I think I was told that they are calling 120 to the first round of interviews

I went for CFB myself too mate, I heard something like that as well! Got passed the operational tests and wasn't called for interview after that, ah well, all experience counts!

Did you go for emergency call taker or dispatcher job?
Dispatcher, but I'm regretting not going for both, never the less, I'm going to study the Guidelines very carefully and take my time in filling out the application form and give it my best shot.

What are they asking for in the application form?
Employment history and demonstrations of attributes they are looking for, at this stage I'm going to stop posting blow by blow account of my application as this is the real serious side of things, seeing such high numbers in the merit rankings makes me feel all the better for making the top 5 but it seems you're all going for call taker so I imagine that there is a different order of merit set up for that post. Good luck to everone but do remember, if you've just put your Merit ranking post up here, you've pretty much identified yurself to any HSE people who come in and look at this thread. I hope all your posts have been nice and polite.

like when some people went for the garda interviews, some people went to a guidence person skilled in the particular interview, giving you every possible question and what could be asked and an answer for such

anybody know of a person like that for this particular job???

Dyslexia is permitted in the National Ambulance Service so ridiculing someone for their spelling is not very nice.

I'm not saying the poster is dyslexic, I'm just stating a point.

Jokes.....apparently no longer permitted in the ambulance service!

Poor spelling is part of the job, I have about 4 ways of spelling diarrhoea depending on how tired I am

Got to blame predictive text there and a late night in mc Gowans. But don't be foolish folks, everyone will use whatever means possible to get ahead of the next.

Original post about pre interview guidance is just good practice. Was just wonderin if anyone was specialising in this area.

Anybody see call taker jobs advertised on cpl healthcare website, it says they are launching jobs in jan but you have to be an Emt or paramedic to apply, this could be the DFB recruiting because they are only jobs goin in the dublin area.
