Anyone else still waiting on SUSI Grant?

I'm still waiting to get the letter to send Final Acceptance Form. I send additional documents in around 2-3 weeks ago now. When you finally get the letter to send the Final Acceptance Form and send it off, how long have people had to wait to hear back again. Anyone reckon I might be accepted by the time November's payment? Really running out of cash now...

I sent Final Acceptance form off on September 19th, still haven't heard anything back from them. Think I'll ring them this evening and see what they say.

This is what I would imagine happens. It is how the VEC did it. It makes sense for it to be back paid. But I don't know for sure.

Grants are awarded for set amounts and distributed in separate payments.
For example, if you get Maintenance of €1,250, you have to get €1,250 for that year, so yes it'll be pack paid and you should get a double payment.

If you've already sent in your documents and the FCA is the only thing you need to send in, you don't have to wait for them to ask you to send it.
Just send it in and it'll be linked to your application. You'll get the jump on them and it'll probably reduce your wait by about 2/3 weeks.

If you didn't send that off last time, do it as soon as possible.

The grant is paid over 9 months . - It is due since September even though first payment is next Friday .

So if you miss the first payment date this Friday , you will get 3 months together in November .

So divide your yearly grant amount by 9 and multiply by 3 .

Our application has missed the deadline this month too , and the above info was given to me when I rang the SUSI helpline few days ago.

In our case , we applied immediately when it was announced in June and supplied all info then.
Followed up a month ago with confirmation of acceptance - but the application is still sitting on someones desk , and SUSI are unable to say when it will be dealt with .
They said that it has to go to the pre-assessors , and if found to be okay , it will then proceed to processing .
They could not give us a timeline .

Oh really? I didn't know this. And can I just send it in a normal envelop instead of the ones they send you out to send back your documents in? Should I write a note or anything and attach it to it?

I don't think you get 3 months in November. Would it not be only 2 months since it is backpaid since the first payment does be in October? So October is from September and November is from October. I remember when I got it last year in November, I got 2 months paid. Maybe SUSI do it differently. I wouldn't be complaining about getting 3 months in November :P Since it is more than likely going to be when I get it approved - if I am lucky!

Any envelope, maybe smaller than the normal ones they use so they know it's not a normal document pack and they notice it better.

i dont think youll need a note or anything. and if you are studying in ireland you do not need your uni/college to sign the form.

yeah send it in a normal envelope asap. i sent mine registered post just in case. i did this for all of my documentation.

Thanks so much! I had it downloaded weeks ago and was waiting to hear and fill it out and send it back. But I'm going to get it sent to them tomorrow or Friday. :)

Also, anyone know how I can view my application online? I can't seem to find the option? I found it a couple of weeks ago because I thought it might need it for something else but I don't and deleted it from my laptop. Now I can't seem to find the link for it anywhere.
EDIT: Got it in an email. Nevermind! :)

I am only passing on the info as it was given to me by the SUSI helpline.-

We qualify for 25% grant which is €33 monthly over 9 months . - SUSI confirmed to me that we would receive €99 in November ( which is Sept - Oct - Nov )

This has made me very happy. :D I got mine from the VEC in November last year and was paid two months. At the moment, I'm still waiting to be fully approved so I'm hoping I will be by the time November's payment comes around. 3 months will help clear some of the debts I've gotten myself into. Thanks for the information.

Has anyone received official confirmation that the first payment is on Friday?

I know there was a link a couple of pages ago with a college saying the 19th (Friday) was the first payment date but different college websites seem to have different days and none of them that I have asked know for sure.

That said, I haven't rang SUSI since last week so hopefully it has come straight from the horses mouth that the first payment is on Friday :D

It was whatever you allocated to yourself. Check your email for it. They would have sent it to you in an email after you registered.

You would have chosen one yourself, but if you click 'forgot username' you can enter your email address and they will send you a reminder.
