Anyone else still waiting on SUSI Grant?

I applied the first day (June 11th), got my letter about documents letter on August 22nd, sent them off August 30th as I was waiting on one document now I'm just waiting to hear back and getting the email. I don't understand why we can't have a system that has grants already rewarded by the time students go back to college. It's difficult to manage your funds without it. I'd imagine I'll be waiting another few weeks to hear back from them.

For those who have received their emails, does it say what you have been rewards? Or just that standard email saying to post the acceptance letter back to SUSI?

On the grant website in the box saying 'Progress Completed' mine says 100% and it has done for ages. Does everybody else's say the same? The Status bit says 'Submitted' and the Application Status is blank.

Mine says the exact same. I guess it says that because you have completed the full application online.

i still have not been informed of my grant status. im hoping it was just a mix up on the form. anyway my question is if i attended a college course before and didnt complete it im liable for full fees im aware of this but i was sure i could still apply for a fees grant to cover it. im on btea so not like limits are an issue. is there any reason why susi wouldnt cover my fees? i did not have a grant last time i went to college and the fees office are looking for 6k

If you are paying the full fees I don't think SUSI will cover it, I'm not sure of that though. I also thought you couldn't get a SUSI grant if you were on BTEA (It says that on a form from SUSI I signed).

Rang them up there, apparently I should have received the letter for documentation a week or two ago, but there was an error on their computer or something? Anyone else get that?

They're sending out a new letter to me and should arrive by next week, but the guy said I've been deemed eligible for the grant aslong as I have the correct documents that match up to my application... :)

Be prepared to be waiting another few weeks if you are yet to post of any documents.

Oh I know that, just I know what's happening now. Have them ready for when the letter does arrive. :)
They thought I had received the documentation letter already...

The system is supposedly going to be open in January of next year to allow next years applications to be assessed before september of 2013, unfortunately that means we get the short end of the stick now with same ppl doing 9 months of work in 2 months. I think some people have been told they got the grant those ppl will be getting first payment in November. I have a friend that works in the offices there she saying they are up to their eyeballs working 12 hrs a day but will take a long time to clear the backlog.

i was accepted for btea but applied to susi for a fees grant. as my means are below any limits i thought this was a formality. im not covered for free fees but was told susi cover tution and reg fees which it states on the literature.

all i know is college are looking for 6k and my application with susi isnt as smooth as i thought. i was wondering on what grounds they could refuse me? i have not been informed yet.

im an independent student on btea.

I'm only in the process of sending documents now, was deemed provisionally eligible. Was out of the country there for a few months. I actually have some cash saved to pay the half year fees ~ 2k, what do you guys think I should do?

I'm thinking of paying those half-year fees now, and hopefully the grant reimburses me. Is that how it works?

Bit weary about waiting around for another few months for definite word, delaying the fee payment and then having to pay big sums at a later date if I was rejected in the worst case scenario.

    Any feedback appreciated?:)

I think SUSI will only cover the registration fees not the full fees but I'm not sure.

From what I have here being on BTEA is enough to be refused.

hi all im a mature student,i have completed an ordinary degree and returning for hon's.after three years i know the grants take ages and now that there all going to a central location i can only imagine how long it will take. you usally know if you have it by late oct.may take longer, and for the back to education jus use your grant reference number to register and say u've applied and waiting for them to pay.

SUSI cover both the tuition and registration it's called a fee grant.

I finally got my documents letter but one thing. It says 'details of other financial assistance' as I wrote I was eligible for HEAR.The college I'm going to, HEAR doesn't include, so emmm what do I do? I don't want to send all the documents off and then get another letter saying I'm missing that 'other financial assistance' one. :/

I'm the same. I applied when it first opened and still haven't heard despite the fact the website says you will hear from them late August/early September. I know people who applied really late and got their grant a week later though. Its annoying because I can't get a student card so I can't do anything! I have to pay to use the library but still can't take out books. I can't even get a locker!

I'm after getting a letter from SUSI asking for more documentation - documentation that was sent in back in June, the day after applications opened! They are requesting a SECOND utility bill proving that I was living independent from October of last year. I sent in a bill from November last year and apparently this isn't sufficient???

Can some one please clarify this line of text for me
Evidence of independent residence from 1st of October 2011 to one month prior to the date of this letter

I can't figure out from that sentence where it asks me for a second document proving that?? It's asking me for any documentation from October to a month prior the letter received? Or maybe my English has gone down the drain!

    That makes no sense.

It was so much easier to blame it on Them. It was bleakly depressing to think that They were Us. If it was Them, then nothing was anyone's fault. If it was us, what did that make Me? After all, I'm one of Us. I must be. I've certainly never thought of myself as one of Them. No one ever thinks of themselves as one of Them. We're always one of Us. It's Them that do the bad things.

I think it means a document to prove you're still living independently or not at the moment, or up to the date you received that letter from SUSI. Either that or my English is gone haywire too.
It doesn't make any sense, terrible wording. :/

I sent the documents off a month ago and after emailing them they told me that they had been scanned and were waiting in a queue to be looked at by a "pre-assessor". I'm not sure what pre-assessment even means but hopefully I'll hear something back before my fees need to be paid!

They need you to prove you've been living independently from the 1st of October to pretty much now.

If you sent in a bill from November they can't tell either of those dates from that. For instance you might not have moved out until October 31st meaning you weren't independent from October 1st and for all they know you could be living with your parents now again.

You'd need one bill from on or before October 1st to prove you were independent at that point and then your most recent bill to prove you're still independent.

In theory if a person has a bill dated September 30th and then has a bill from say today, even if they had been living with their parents for months in between, they could still prove independent residence just with those two bills.

I rang them again this morning and the woman on the other end said I'm provisionally eligible for the grant and that there just going over everything of mine. I should expect an email/letter in the next few days to proceed further.

Best news I've heard off of them to date.

I got that letter a month ago at this stage still heard nothing back :/

    Has anyone heard anything more?

I reckon I have enough to keep me going for another two weeks or so but after that I'll be really, really struggling so hope to have it before then.

The last I heard was when I rang last week and they said it should be all sorted within the next fortnight, although with their record of time-keeping that probably means it will be hear by Christmas! I've sent the final acceptance form etc off so everything is sorted there.
