Just how much is everyone looking forward to Seeing Payne playing in green? How does everyone think he compares to KE in everyone's eyes?

Surely its in comparison to Rob Kearney? How many times has Payne played in the centre or the wing for Ulster and who against?

Never played wing, started at 13 just the once from memory but did play very well in fairness, I think he may have shifted to 13 a couple of times in game but right now yes the comparison would be with Kearney, but who knows what will happen over the next 18 months.

Started 13 three times this season. Unless RK has a drastic drop off in performance over the next two years, he'll remain at full back and, if Payne continues to play the way he has been, he'll be accommodated elsewhere in the side. They're too good not to have in the side and Payne is skillful enough to slot in across the line.

4 times I think. Against Treviso, Zebre, Edinburgh and coming off the bench against Newport. He played a lot there for the Auckland Blues. I'd imagine that if he became Irish Qualified, he would feature a bit more in the centre.

I'm pretty sure he played 13 for both of the two Italian away games a few weeks ago, but it's worth bearing in mind he has only played 15 times in total for Ulster (according to the Ulster site). It's not a very big sample size.

    EDIT: Better info above

Hard to see him being moved from fullback, particularly with Bowe, Gilroy, Trimble & Cave covering elsewhere in the backs & Luke Marshall developing well at 12.

He could turn out to be a good bench option for Ireland if he wants to take up the Ireland option.

Much to my shame all these non Ulster fans above have better memories than I do! Yes he did play 13 against the Italian teams because Nelson and Andrew started at 15 in those games and then he was rested against the Scarlets. He didn't do much in either Italian game but then Ulster in general were pretty poor.

Any more questions for tonight's show?

With Botha's contract talks apparently stalling, should the unthinkable happen and Botha leaves us, who should Munster be looking to bring in?

Also, as an aside, how far can you go to get the most out of home advantage [thinking specifically about the P.A. debacle at Watford last weekend]?

Finally, with Bowe likely out for the Six Nations, who do you think will make up the back-three?

Any questions for this week's recording?

What needs to change at Munster for them to start performing well? Is it a personnel change that is required or is it a faulty strategy, or both? How much blame should Penney/Mannix shoulder?

Also, a not-too-serious topic, what rule or law from another sport would you like to see implemented in rugby?

Don't worry, Munster might come up tonight. :pac:

Second question is interesting, will have to think about it.
