As requested, I've started this thread for all the episodes this season. So keep a lookout for this thread where I'll put up the links to all the shows.

The best way of following the shows is through the iTunes Store. If you search for "Talking Rugby" through the iTunes Store search bar, you'll see our show page where you can subscribe and download the shows automatically.

Our humble aim is to provide you, the listener, with some insightful discussion and analysis of the game we all enjoy!

    EPISODE 49

Below is the latest show (episode 49), where we follow episode 48 which reviewed last weekend's rugby. In this show, we preview this weekend's rugby: Pro12, AP, Top14 and Rugby Championship while we also talk about Geordan Murphy's book and the Lions.

Dave was unavailable so I hosted the show (beginning of a successful broadcasting career! :pac:) and I was joined by Doc and Michael.

The shows just keep on coming! Given the last episode was only a review, the team felt compelled for another this week. So here is episode 49, which looks ahead to all the domestic action in the Northern Hemisphere while also previewing the upcoming games in the South Hemisphere's Rugby Championship.

With Dave taking a break, Alan hosts this week's show and is joined by Doc and Michael, our Ulster exile.

    COMING UP ON THE SHOW:

    RABODIRECT PRO12
1:00 - Munster host Benetton Treviso at Thomond Park, with a settled lineup for the home side along with a Treviso side much changed from last week.
7:15 - After a disappointing defeat last weekend, Connacht travel to Rabo new boys Zebre in Parma.
11:05 - The most intriguing fixture of the weekend sees current league champions Ospreys host last season Heineken Cup finalists Ulster.
15:00 - A Leinster side missing almost an entire matchday squad of players host the Newport Gwent Dragons at the RDS. We also give a mention to Cardiff vs Edinburgh and Glasgow vs Scarlets.

    AVIVA PREMIERSHIP & TOP 14
22:05 - We preview the weekend's games, including Northampton vs Exeter and Bath vs Wasps.
25:45 - It's not the best weekend of matchups in this weekend's Top14! We also look at Rocky Elsom's future after a failed medical at Toulon.
30:30 - We look back on Geordan Murphy's career after he confirmed his retirement from all professional rugby at the end of the season.

    THE LIONS
36:10 - Warren Gatland was confirmed as the head coach of the 2013 British & Irish Lions Tour to Australia. We discuss his appointment along with the potential backroom staff.
    40:45 - The Top14 vs Lions issue.

    RUGBY CHAMPIONSHIP
46:45 - Two struggling sides in South Africa and Australia meet with a big chance to prove their doubters wrong.
52:00 - Argentina face a daunting task against home side New Zealand, even without Dan Carter.

Note: Our Bet of the Week will be confirmed tomorrow on our facebook and twitter accounts! (Details below)

Listened to it at work earlier. It's pretty good. The only rugby podcast i was listening too was 'rugby on off the ball'. That one is usually just about 20 minutes long

This one seems to be more of what i was looking for. Keep it up and i'll keep downloading it

Well this week a lot of us got up in our normal lives (which we have!) so that's why the show got delayed.

It's difficult to organise everyone for a show so we tend to just go with anytime that suits everybody. I suppose it is more difficult to discuss games from the previous weekend late in the week.

4PP I thought you were supposed to give your theories on why Leinster fans should be disappointed after last weekend? Heard you rehashing the point, but not really delving into why.

As I've already said, Leinster had a huge amount of injuries, have not started the season well, generally don't show too much in this game and Munster were coming up with a lot of confidence.

When you look at the two benches, it was always going to happen that Munster would come back at the end. Don't really see the point you're trying to make.

Well sure thats grand jamiedav2011, what you thought is one thing, what happened, another.
No harm there. If you can't see the point you can always try SpecSavers.
Tbh I really can't see why you labour the point to such an extent in view of the remarks I made on the podcast/here but then aren't we all different thanks be to God.
Maybe you should give it another listen? Other participants had a lot more to say on that game. Frog rugby would be more my speciality.

In anycase I'll say no more. I'll end with being accused of back seat mollycoddling or what have you.

    This ain't TBP ;).

Well I'm all for different opinions, however you haven't backed yours up. Yes, you made the remarks again, but again, didn't give rhyme or reason as to why you felt that way. I can certainly see that Frog rugby is your chosen topic, because, again, your theory on last week's Feva in the Aviva is misguided.

By the way, that's the third jibe you've made against me now without showing any of your patented rugby knowledge. Easy thing to do eh?!

Good Lord you're tenacious aren't you.

If you listen to the show there are plenty of explanations/reasoning/opinions on the M v L derby & other games. If each contributor was to go "in depth" on each game we'd be there all night & most of the next day!.

I gave my opinion as a neutral & I stick to it. Thats the impression I got from watching the game, end of. No conspiracy theories, no insults or put downs, just an opinion.

If you don't agree well thats fine by me.

    COMING UP ON THE SHOW:

Agree with the point about fans having preconceptions about a player and that player is written off no matter what he does, Fionn Carr springs to mind (although people are probably right about him to be fair).

    Doc rocked in again

I think you should get in touch with Newstalk and have a bet of the week competition with GT, he likes a bet, the lads would be well on for it I would say, and a good bit of crack, and would promote the classy show big time.

3/5 for the season now! I think giving a shortlist during the recording and then waiting till Friday to finally decide the 'official' BOTW works best. Too much information assymetry before Friday! :D
