    Ah bum flaps!
The seller of the Vita just announced the thing was sold to another interested party, despite he having offered less than me!
And I getting my hopes up too!
So, if anyone has a Vita they'd like to flog to me for 135 or so, stick it on Adverts and post the link here, I promise to buy it!

    In other words they got a higher offer via pm {assuming it was adverts}

Just a heads up on what could be a future rarity. Gaijinworks are taking presale payments for Class of Heroes 2 which looks set to be the last UMD release for the PSP in the West. $46.99. It's got Victor Ireland behind it so like all of his work at Working Designs it could end up costing a lot in a few years. They are only making enough to fulfil presale numbers.

Anyone that expects them or any other bricks & mortar to compare favourably to an online shop is being a bit naive.

Looking at their Facebook page they've been about since Nov 2010 (including surviving that flood they had) so they must be doing something right. If folks are buying stuff at those prices then why bother lowering them drastically to keep a few extra folks on a specialist forum happy? I would imagine the positive exposure they get on FB dwarfs any negative comments that appear on here every so often.

Don't know what the fuss is about really - if you don't want to pay their prices then just buy online - bigger (and cheaper by the sounds of it) selection anyway.
also at least they're open more than 4 days a week!
(I've sadly yet to make it to the other shop as I'm NEVER IN FECKIN TOWN AFTER WEDNESDAY!)

Go to videogames New York if you are ever over there or any of the other shops the HG101 guys took me too and see how it should be done. RAGE us buying in those games for next to nothing and they get the odd rarity in them. What they should be doing is selling the common games at a bit more than they go for online because us hardcore lot aren't interested in them but they will sell a load of copies of SMW and Starfox and Sonic 2 to the ignorant masses for a lot more.

The rarities they have should be sold at a good bit less than online because they have bought them for next to nothing and expecting to make a 90% price mark up is silly. As it stands anyone that knows their games isn't going to shell out 100 euros for a copy of Shining the Holy Ark with no manual and it's going to be sitting on their shelf from here to eternity. The only people interested in those games will know that they are being ripped off.

This is how the US shops run and they are hugely popular, sure even the hardcore fighting game crowd go to them for tournaments.

As it stands RAGE just isn't worth going into anymore for me or anyone that actually collects games and knows how to use ebay. It could be so much better than it actually is. I wonder in every so often for a look in case I get lucky but even when I think I'm getting a bargain I end up finding out I could have gotten the same game on ebay cheaper by 10-5 euros including postage.

I also don't get the BS about the shops overheads, they are buying these games in lots in markets or other places for next to nothing, they're just being greedy when it comes to the rarities.

tl;dr Johnny Ultimate ruined it for us all.

I was in Videogames New York twice over the years and although it was nice for a browse, everything was far too expensive. It was just a more comprehensive version of The Rage.

Ah right, I meant the one near Coyote Ugly, Videogames New York is pretty bad unless you are looking for the recent japanese imports. I was too busy being whipped with a leather belt to remember how to get back to that place though. My friend Andrew picked up a copy of the first two Deception games for nest to nothing.

Saying that Andrew did pick up Star Parodier in mint condition for $30 in videogames NY

Did anyone see the episode of Game Centre CX when arino goes to a retro game store in San Francisco I think. My god the prices were insanely good!

Was in videogames new york only a couple of months back, as said earlier fine for a browse but not much else really, although I was eyeing up a panasonic q until the missus moved me along :)

Here's the reason why we had the stupid blue swirl in Europe and not the correct colour.

A German publisher already owned it.

    Just discovered something interesting.

Here was Tivola's logo from 1995 to 2004. They claimed they owned the rights to an orange swirl. So the Dreamcast had to go blue.

    809194.png

Sega stopped supporting the Dreamcast in 2002.

    Here's Tivola's logo from 2004 on.

    809196.png

Clearly someone in Tivola thought 'we own the orange swirl in Europe - we'll wait till they stop making Dreamcasts and then completely rob the logo as it looks better'

Anyone know where I could get my Neo geo pocket colour front lit?

Reading up and you tubing on it seems it is possible but a pain to do and can only be front lit because of the old screen or something.

Id be lookin for someone in Dublin to do it that's done it before etc.. Not something I'd even remotely trying myself.

It's meant to be really easy to botch and ruin your console. I'd love my one front lit too though, even if it does wash the colours out. I'd favour that over not being able to see anything at all :pac:

A valid complaint 'til you play a Wonderswan Color, with its contrast dial that lets you choose how bright a darkness you'd like. The NGPC comes out quite well in comparison.

I'm always slightly offput by the NGPC frontlit mod. Every one I've 'tubed tends to show a portion of the screen cutoff due to the wangliness of trying to get an SP screen in.

I wonder would it be possible to remove a backlit screen from a GBA SP (Ciderman will crucify me at the idea!) and install it in a NGP?

Pity its a pain to do. Such a great console but the lighting issue is a pain in the ass.
