Yeh, last weekend of the Rabo against a side who's season is over after losing to Quinn's in the HC.

    :D

They've been knocking on the door, got a good few LBPs. Only a matter of time before they do someone, potential banana skin for sure.

Not sure if against charter but might make your ST a bit cheaper if you sign up to insurance.

    Interesting comment.
We may think it's in our favour that Sexton is probably out, but Madigan looked a more than adequate replacement who is lively in open play and kicks his goals

Andrew Goodman would have played with their loosehead Taulafo for the Makos I believe

Will do some more investigating per player for any more info

The fact that Reddan is out and Boss is off his usual good form is certainly a worry.

Our backrow etc need to get in his face ala Ferris/Genia style

TBH I hope they're not. We tried that with Matawalu and it failed, with most of our pillar defenders falling over rucks trying to get at him. We just need to target their first phase receivers and try and limit his threat. The pillar defenders need to hold fast and limit his break.

He is lightning and quite elusive and seems to rotate between giving and going as all good SH should so its going to be bloody tough to control him.

Hopefully Joe has spotted a few kinks in his armour and I feel that if he cut down early and disrupt his tempo it will be key.

Wasps are coming off 4 losses in a row (6 in their last 8) even with the 2 top try scorers in the league so it will be interesting.

Our gameplan has got to include the rolling maul. Their maul defense against The Saints and a few other times this season has been shocking.

Any thoughts on the lock combo?
Roux and Cullen would be the obvious starters but I don't think either of them have 80 min in them. Toner has been poor enough recently. He is not always secure hands from the opposing restart, he is not being used effectively in the line out and he's being driven backwards when he has the ball. Do we really want him starting/does he provide impact off the bench?

I can see Roux being on the bench. Although I really like Toner's attitude when he's sprung off the bench. Seems to have a point to prove etc.

    From Joe

"Declan will still be in the mix and until anything is sorted from that perspective, I am not a massive fan of conjecture."

Difficult to read that as anything other than

"I'm interested in talking about it once Declan gets the boot".

The rest of his comments are very much not a "I will not be taking the Irish job" like O'Shea etc.

I reckon Schmidt is the next Irish coach.

Roux will probably play, he is still obviously lacking match sharpness and as missed 7/8 tackles in the last 2 games which was nearly the same as all the other forwards combined. He still is the solid option to start imo with cullen. Toner as sub

Denton and Browne seem to be in the squad online. I thought Marshall was brought in ??? Dont see it.

I'd think Toner and Cullen will start. Roux has been sloppy and is still getting up to speed. He also only had partial involvement in training the other day.

Yep I'd expect Toner and Cullen. I'd be happy with that.

Bit of a non story but in anyway if the sh1t hit the fan and Joe left the alternatives in the immediate short term would not be great

I'd bump Jono up and get someone in to work with the backs.

If it was for a a few months would have no problem with that.

I don't see Joe leaving but "if" he did I would want him to say it as early as possible so a replacement could be found

I know the guide says Yates but anyone in Wycombe should absolutely go to the Bootlegger for one or two. It's a good real rugby pub and it'll be full of top quality fans. It's across the way from Wycombe station as well so really easy to get to. The Sausage Tree is another one not too far away which prides itself on being a rugby pub.

Plenty of good rugby pubs in the town though, full of ex-props who will tell you amazing stories about the solitary try each scored in their career. And a great selection of beer as well, the Rebellion brewery being the local boys.

    EDIT: Bootlegger - http://thebootleggerpub.co.uk/
    Sausage Tree - http://www.sausagetreepub.co.uk/

And behave yourselves, some of us have reputations to maintain!

Ulster should win their remaining games, they have to play Dragons, Connacht and Cardiff.

Glasgow have to play Scarlets, Ospreys and Connacht so a trickier run-in for them.

Hopefully Connacht can do us a favour or two! :D

Tell you what, seeing as we hammered you in September, we'll work something out - ye win the Amlin and we'll get you a home semi. Deal? ;)

Oh also, the Bootlegger is BYOF. So you can go grab a pizza and bring it in. A nice little touch if you're drunk and victorious.
