bills next , they will be up for it never liked rex always saw him as a slightly overrated coach and in truth talked the talk but nothing else , he will have the bills up for it though and it will be a very tough game , i could never imagine either steelers or the broncos losing there last two games , steelers will bounce back so it still is a case of win or bust next week

next week's absolutely postseason game 1. Bills will be loaded - don't fault Rex for never having a decent QB and having to endure Idzlik at the end. Great game and nice to see the foulup by the Patsies on the coin toss.

It's kinda funny now, but I remember thinking that Fitzpatrick looked decent for the Texans but it was just hard to shake all the negative noises that have followed him his whole career, the 'he just can't get it done' perceptions.

He's having his career year for us and seems to be looking more poised each week.

I was tired of Ryan at the end. I hope we ****ing stuff one down his throat on Sunday.

Now the Chiefs and Jets both need to win and the Broncos to lose in Week 17, in order to bump the Jets up to the #5 spot from #6, which will pit them up against the Texans (or small chance the Colts), both with less than impressive records, in the Wildcard game. Coming in at #6 pits the Jets against a tough Bengals team in first round of the playoffs.

Some win on Sunday. D were fantastic and the Marshall and Decker show got some good support from Quincy.
After the way Rex celebrated after they beat us in meadowlands it would be great to stuff them up there. Don't see it being high scoring but do see us winning.
Being in control of our own destiny is a good feeling. Don't think about playoffs yet, get there first. Really hope Mo gets paid too. Gonna cost a lot more than it would have been last summer but he's worth every $$

We've given up 2 rushing TDs all season

which is tied for the record with

    Detroit, 1934
    Dallas, 1968
    Minnesota, 1971

Pretty impressive IMO. Second lowest is Pitt with 6

Yep, mistakes at every turn! cant expect to get to the playoffs when you're turning in a performance like that.

Yup. That is tough to take.

Turning it over in the red zone and then giving up the field goal to make it 5 points was huge.

I thought Thompkins was going to win it for us though. Very nearly spun away in the end.

Haven't even got an interest in the late games now:(

Gutted with what happened but if you were to say to any Jets fan in August that we'd have a shot at the playoffs going into the last game, they'd snap the hand off you.

Some big decisions to be made in the off season - What to do with Mo and Snacks? (Trade, Franchise Tag, sign long term deals)
What to do with Geno and Milliner? (Release and take the cap hit or keep in the hope that Geno gets good and Milliner gets healthy?)
CRO - decent season but keep or move on?

Interesting off season ahead for all of us!

Gutted. Genuinely believed there was a great chance of progressing. But alas far too many mistakes today gave the game away. No taking away from what the Bills brought to the game and obviously were well pumped up again by Rex.

Chasing the game while the Steelers kept putting points on the board was hard with those mistakes.

After the joy of last weeks win watching it with Steelers fans watching their Ravens game was so much fun and then today!

10-6 after last year is super but an opportunity lost today. Hard to believe it will be 7 months before the Jets play again.

Was very tough to take today, was watching in a bar full of fans in brooklyn and never heard a place to ask quiet... Still to come so close is a good achievement and with the schedule we have next year we may be happy with what we've got this year.

Well, progress since last year. Darnit.

    Brilliant piece that nails it.

I'd still go back into battle with Fitzpatrick next year again all the same.

Have to feel sorry for Fitz. As the article says he'll never be in the elite but IMO keeping him would be a smart move. Players like that need games which guarantee confidence and continuity.

I compare him to Cousins here. Both dying for a chance to prove themselves and given the chance have proven themselves and shined. There is a calmness about them.

Redskins winning their division with a worse record doesnt help.

Bobby April has been fired,ST has far and away the worst part of the jets team over the last couple of years!! Hopefully this means Ryan Quigley and his sh1te punts is gone too.

Cro was cut this afternoon. Loved him as a Jet but its the right move, saves about 8 million. Hopefully Marcus Williams continues to progress and establishes the no. 2 corner spot opposite Revis

I'd say there's a healthy chance he get's picked up again for a good bit less, not even sure it would be the right move but if he came back in a genuine competition with Williams I'd be fine with that. Also some talk that Skrine would take CB2 unless it's a nickel set up... I'd rather Williams CB2 full time I think.

yeah theres definitely a possibility he comes back, but it should be just as a backup. I think Skrine is suited best to nickel cb, he was a penalty machine when he played on the outside in Cleveland

Exactly, the only problem is if Cro takes enough of a pay cut to be a backup and if he'll accept coming back to play second fiddle...

What are all your thoughts so far?

Disappointed to lose out on Snacks but the money he got paid was monstrous.

I love Forte, so can't see anything wrong with that, especially since it isn't a lot of money.

Glad to see Cumberland and Kerley cut.

Happy we are not giving in to Fitz's demands. Like to have him back but it won't be the end of the world if he isn't.

Get Ferguson's contract redone, cut Giacomini, and if possible pick up a corner, a NT (maybe Fairley as the rumour goes) and a OL man.

Pick up a vet QB after FA ends to compete with Geno/Petty. The one rumour that intrigues me is we are being linked with Sanchez. I'd actually have no problem with him coming back as the veteran.

I'm definitely disappointed Snacks and Ivory are gone, but also delighted Maccagnan decided not to give either of them the money they got with there new deals.

Agree with you on Fitz. He had a decent year for us last year and I'd like to have him back but anyone thats willing to give a 34 year old Fitz 18 mil a year needs their head checked!

I dont think theres a Jets fan that isnt happy about Cumberland being cut. I'm disappointed Kerleys gone though, I feel he never got a chance under Bowles and I think there should of been a role for him behind Marshall and Decker.

The oline definitely needs sorting out, its taking up the most amount a cap space and its one of the weaker units on the field. I personally think we've already got Snacks replacement in Deon Simon.

Forte's a good pickup for a year or two. I think he'll run well and be effective, not turn the ball over and everything. He's still coming up on the wrong side of 30 so I'd still like to draft a playmaker like Elliot or resign Bilal.

Not paying Fitz is foolhardy. No QB, no season. Right now we have no QB worth a damn.

Dont agree. Overpaying for mediocre QB play has got the Jets into cap hell before. Fitz got bailed out a ton by his WR's, sticking to your guns and not overpaying for a career backup is not a bad move. I think the fact that no other team as offered him anything shows he's looking for far too much! I'd be happy to give him 8 or 9 million but no more

Apart from Harrison I'm very happy with the developments so far! RG3 visiting is curious, not sure a 1/2 of him and Geno is ideal at all. The RB corps are looking tasty now too, whilst I loved watching Ivory he's not irreplaceable, we have a strong 3 now.
