Was over for Bills game (also took in cowboys game). Incredible atmosphere with 9/11 anniversary. Stadium was at fever pitch just before Rogers came out, then the balloon burst. Amazing finish, stadium erupted with the return TD. Very easy to get to Metlife stadium by train from Manhattan. Sickner with Rogers but defence stood up. Interesting season ahead

Typical season so far. Fluke win in the first game, rarely led in any of the subsequent ones. Sunday's loss wasn't as awful as some of its predecessors, and Taylor Swift in the house kept the TV entertained.

4-12 looking more and more likely. G'bye, front office guys after this season. Miracles can happen and they'll play .500.

Defense needed stops and got penalized. Running game despite big addition of Dalvin Cook is nothing. No O-line still.

The game did get me to watch Travis Kelce's hosting of Saturday Night live after the Superbowl last year. Bright guy, very funny. Taylor could do worse (and has.)

Big win, especially w/o Gardner. On a bye week..Giants up next!

Got to say I'm surprised. Good all-around win. 4 INTs vs. Philadelphia who were previously undefeated. A week off, hopefully some of the DB's make it back for the Giants game. Giants are a wreck, getting them at a good time.

Have an old friend who is a lifelong Raiders fan. We're having some fun woofing at each other across the Atlantic. Looks like the Raiders lost Garappolo too.

1st quarter showed some rust, but I can't remember as ugly a game. Lucky to get the win because the Giants were even worse, yet should have won. So much for an '85 bears quality defense or whatever it is they've been boasting about. '85 Bears would have had that game over by the end of the 1st quarter.

They need a decent backup to pressure Wilson even more. He's laughably bad, leading an offense that basically specializes in cha-cha football ("1, 2, 3, Kick! 1, 2, 3, Kick!"). Should wreck everyone's heads by bringing Kaepernick in as a backup.

They'd have lost badly if they'd played a mediocre team, fortunately they didn't.

Should have lost had Jackson waited another 5 yards to bring Lazard to the turf

Next Monday, I'll be crossing the street after work to Molly Maguire's Pub in order to watch the Jets opener against the 49ers.

After stinking out San Francisco, they handled some bottom feeder teams. Always enjoyable to beat the Patriots but they're rebuilding.

Rodgers is effective, but seems immobile. The defense hasn't played up to their standard of the last few years, players gone and several hurt. I'm not sold on the O line for the long haul, Max Mitchell didn't play last week, and it's a grueling position (that all other teams have to cope with as well.)

But, they're not beating a team as good as SF without being a lot better in all aspects.

    Untitled Image

Lebanon flag on display v Vikings. Fair play to him. Both his parents are Lebanese.

The QB? 'Two score lead push' v Patriots

Hopefully there will be poetic justice for Saleh.

    Sorry Jets fans.

Well, another next great thing at Head Coach for the Jets flops. "You are what your record says you are." Saleh's record is laughably bad.

Of course, my prediction is 4-12 for the Jets this year and they seem to have no chance against better teams. Maybe 6-10. Monday night v. Buffalo will matter a lot since it seems like only the division winner gets to the playoffs from the AFC East.

At least the Mets are keeping me distracted from what is rapidly turning into a dumpster fire.

lots of names mentioned for HC…god only knows who'll we get

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2, Paid Member Posts: 15,097 ✭✭✭✭Igotadose

Well, nearly called it at 4-12, but they ended up 5-12 since I'd forgotten they play a 17th game - hard to pay attention when you follow the Jets. At least they got up to play the Dolphins at the end, can usually count on those being good games.

I hope they don't bring Rex back.

As for the team, well, Johnson still owns it, there's rumours he listens to his 18 year old son for advice who gives it based on Madden scores. That'd be the Jets all right.

Culturally this franchise is broken. 14 years no playoffs, several teams should've at least made a wild card game in that time. But no. Pretty damned depressing all around.

Don't want Rex back, just a decent coach who gets the simple stuff right, jets couldn't even do that under saleh…got the London game in this year against the Vikings..hopefully another one later this year..

Good luck at the game. Get to see Sam Darnold against the Jets, gave up on him way too soon, but he shouldn't have been forced into the starting role right off the bat.

cant really complain about AG…interesting few months ahead..lets see who OC & DC are…

the famous 'clock play' game where Dan Marino torched the Jets for a late TD by pretending he was going to spike the ball then threw for the TD, Glenn was the rookie cornerback he burned. I was there. Sigh.

I have way too many Jets memories, sadly mostly of failures.

Anyway, good luck Aaron Glenn, seems like a great candidate. But, as long as the owner's the same… (not like the owner's predecessor was particularly good towards the end, either…) And please dump Aaron Rodgers, might be one of the worst trades in NFL history.

    Let the next rebuild begin

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2, Paid Member Posts: 15,097 ✭✭✭✭Igotadose

I'm too old for this. Another rebuild again, like the Jets have lit up the draft with their great selections, esp. at QB, who needed Josh Allen anyway.

Of course, if the Jets had picked him, they'd have ruined him, too. It's their way.
