Might be a stupid question but what does that mean?:o

Also Its fairly quiet in Dublin's northside, just wondering when we can expect things to kick off?

Check MT's update in the daily forecast thread.

M4 still showing 993 pressure at 8PM and it is forecast (in various models) to drop to around 975 by the 0z.

Keep an eye on it from now on.

yes, wind starting to get up now, lashing rain too. The radar doesnt do the rain justice. Just to note the wind seems to be coming from a more northely direction than southely at present (Its on the front of the house instead of the usual back).

Forecast coming up on RTE 1 now, will probably be pretty much the same as earlier I'd say.

A few miles to your SE and wind is backing southerly but very light (8.0kts) Very light rain (1.0mm/ph). Most notable thing that has happened is the 5.0 mb pressure fall over the last 3 hrs. Temp is also dropping as well.

    Come on Evelyn.. well done

Warnings- gale to storm force winds mentioned.

Explains how a storm develops - nice touch :) and how it tracks... :D

frontal cloud, followed by rain, widespread over the country.

Mayo, Sligo and Donegal in line for possible damaging Storm force Winds. Sleet and hail accompanying.

Pretty similar to earlier but with more explanation. Go Evelyn nicely done :D

Gusts in the southwest are weaker than forecast for this time (on the NMM model).

Hi-Res NMM model had Valentia area under 50-60 knot gusts for 9pm.
Report says 36. I wonder is it just a timing difference or maybe winds for the south wont be as strong as expected.

Mt had the winds increasing from 11pm on so maybe a timing difference.

This hi-res 12Z hirlam has hurricane force sustained winds touching 70 knots off the Donegal coast at 4am. It shows 65 knots for Belmullet around midnight.

I can't see these winds materialising, but Belmullet and Malin Head reports will be interesting to watch!

Incidentally, Donegal Airport is probably the best station of all, on the far northewestern coast. Keep track of its and Sligo's metars here.

GFS showing about 38 knots sustained there for the same time. Quite a difference!
