nice to see his HR went up like any mortal at the top of the 'beast' climb which finished at 24%, having hit 36% at one point. The geezer in first place clocked a vam of 1904

I see Jean-Claude (aka Laurens) Ten Dam is joined up to Strava.
Look at his La Doyenne (LBL) file, and all those big VAM numbers  (kudos)
Note: he finished 63rd, 5min39sec behind Iglinsky.

not sure its a good idea to follow these boys ....they are super human, or more to the point perhaps how little i know about pro-cycling stats

    latest training ride:
206k, av 34kmph, 2.2k climbing, and no time in threshold, and only 7% in tempo http://app.strava.com/rides/8053704

anyone know what elevation in the summary is gone?

  • Registered Users Posts: 1,512 ✭✭✭Sundy

Joined. Enjoy seeing my daily commute in Perth.

Hard to believe how good it is here for cycling. Out of my 12.5km commute I'd say only about 1.5km is actually on the road. the rest is on dedicated cycle paths, which in the main have great surfaces.

Now all I gotta do is get up to speed again after a 9 month lay off!

My randonnee ride won't upload. I'm missing out on all that climbing, not to mention about 160km distance. :(

C'mon buffalo - you're a techie, surely you can look at the gpx file and figure out what's going wrong? :)

I can't get the file from the Edge in the first place. I'm tempted to take last year's trace and... oh wait, that one broke too!

I'm awaiting Garmin's magical support to reply to me. Although I'm still awaiting a reply on last year's issue too!

Garmin tech support have been useless when I've contacted them about a file in the past. Try following the link by gOg here and see if you get any joy. The guy in the thread responded to me very quickly, though was only able to recover 12km of the ride in the end. You'll need to be able to pull the .fit file from the Garmin in the first place though by searching through it's files.

hmmm... I think the 305 doesn't support .fit. I'll keep banging away and see what I can do.

Didn't Strava used to, upon creation of a new segment, trawl back through all the data and pluck out the rides that had already covered it? No more, it seems.

Seems to be doing it, but very slowly. That is, over a number of days rather than minutes.

I created a segment yesterday and it asked me immediately was I sure that I was not copying another segment as there was another very similar.

@ Buffalo: If it ain't on Strava then you didn't do it. Now go do 6 hill repeats of the devil's elbow as penance.

No response a week later. And my Corkagh park ride is inaccessible too. Frustrating!
