    True.

Then that is it, no more spending for me lol

If i get a new atty, one that i have will be sold.
The Maxi looks good though with bigger capacity, you will want it when you realise how much juice the Line goes through.

Looks to be a more solid build as well.

Wire was a bit loose on the Line.
Took the mesh out and put a lighter to it to burn off the juice.
Hot flame again briefly, bit more juice burnt on it.
Another coil and it's rockin' again.

No i don't have a 18650 mod Gryzor, a box mod i had gave up on me.

What Ohms and Voltage are ya using ?
Taste is something else in it, ya going through much juice?

Started off at 1.6ohm, now at 1.9 ohm. 4v is doing it nicely

It likes the juice alright, flavour is awesome though

When the box mod was working i had it at 3.7v, consistently getting 1.9 Ohms on it.

It's a very clean vape or something, gets better with each repair as ya understand it more.

    Did ya cut nic stregth?

May consider getting something for it.

Haven't cut yet, on my next mix of base I'll drop down 5mg and see how it goes...

Go mod shopping, it's good for the soul! :D

    derra,Gryzor what is the best mesh size u think? 23x35mm , 30x40mm etc ?

Might get the Lavatube off Liberty Flights.

Alec, i just roll the tube up a bit longer than neccesary (50mm maybe) and cut it flush across from the high post. 23mm width is fine.

  • Registered Users Posts: 1,602 ✭✭✭alec76

So , basically, is it touching bottom of the atty ?

Yes, and cut the mesh at an angle at the bottom.

I made my first one too short, doesn't touch the bottom, about 4mm shy...

I'm getting ce2 flasbacks withe the line, have to tip it to keep the wick juiced

I might get some mesh from wires.co.uk, supposed to be coarser which some suggest is better

  • Registered Users Posts: 1,711 ✭✭✭Gryzor

You have the wicking issue then too derra??

How good this atty is, is more than making up for the odd tip though :D

Ya see, i think we are using same mesh from the mesh company and it may be too fine. I got mine in a trade, fella told me it was the superfine so i assume it is.
But most seem to be doing ok with the superfine stuff.

It wicks, but think i expected juice to be pouring out at the mesh and coil more than it is.

Users reckon this stuff is good though...
    14cm x 25cm 0.03mm 400 MESH Stainless Steel Woven Wire Fabric Mesh
    http://wires.co.uk/acatalog/ss_fabric.html

Actually gonna try this before making my mind up about a mod, the reason being i need to know i can get the atty setup perfectly with no hotspots and no wicking issues before splashing out on a mod.

Only registered delivery to Ireland which is €8.90 or something, just gonna get it sent to my brother and let him post it on to me.
    Becoming a right scrooge lately.

Had a mess around with my dead Box mod and it's now alive and kicking, just about.

Two Bullis will not work in it, The Line will work as long as it is not seated in fully. So it's a problem with the 510 connection thing on the mod.
Seems to be firing up all the way even though it's not fully seated so hopefully now i can really see what the Line is capable of.

Hopefully a 510-510 adapter might solve it or a 510-eGo adapter.

    Get yours sorted yet Alec?

    ______________________________________________________________________

    Just sold my Line.
Too much inconsistency for me and don't have the patience for this particular atty to get it consistent.
I like the easy way, Bulli with wire and wick 2 mins job.
There will be more options down the Line, pardon the pun :)

Getting a RDA in the deal, so am happy with that.

  • Registered Users Posts: 1,602 ✭✭✭alec76

    Just sold my Line.
:( u gave up to quickly....
I just started to play with mine :)
    1.7 ohms

not happy with the taste yet , probably wire has to bed in....
    plenty of vapour though.....
    About wicking and tip it....
I am reading topics about Genesis in 2010 ....
Creator of Genesis recommending mesh 15 mm wide( no more , otherwise wicking issues ) up to 40 mm long , top of the wick ~5 mm or more must be clear ( no turns of wire there ) - sorta buffer for juice ....

Have you tried that dimension of wick alec? Sounds like there'll be a large hole in the center, very little material used...my first wick is performing nicely now, don't want to start fighting with a new one just yet

    made several wicks ,
    last set up
    16x40 performing very well .
There is no large hole in the center , trick is to roll it properly :
-I've rolled it very tight at the first stage -- 1mm diameter,
    - then unrolled it,
    - then rolled it again to ~2mm diameter not very tight ,but not too loose at the same time ( so there is no large hole in the center -- same hole as it was 26x40 )
wicking very well , no need to tip it
And yes , i left ~5mm space at the top
    0.16 kanthal d , 5 turns one side , 4 another , 1.8 ohms

    195130.jpg

Still not happy with the flavour ..... RTA gives richer flavour at the moment , and i can feel some additional taste of mesh/wire ( i am only at the first tank tho )

btw last setup i oxidized differently
-- boiled rolled wick for 15 min
--- oxidized 3 times only the top of it ( 11-15 mm ) with the regular lighter
-- then added 2 drops of juice on the top , set the flame on to it

I've got no issues with provari with this setup from the start at all ( no E1-E2), 1.8 Ohms
It could be the blow torch ( i didn't use it this time) was the cause of it ....( may be the temperature of blow torch was too high ... i dunno, boiling could make the difference ...)

some tips from creator of Genisis ,raidy
    http://www.e-cigarette-forum.com/forum/modding-forum/132663-all-my-mods-part1.html
The stainless steel mash, the kanthal-wire and the port to refuel.

    1) It's a stainless steel mash with 37-57Micromters.
    2) It's oxidated with a lighter, for 3 times.
    3) This oxidation makes a not conductive skin on the mash
    4) the mash has an capillar-effect, wich brings all the time the liquid from the tank to the top. You not need to invert it.
    5) This system gives a 10-50 time higher lifetime to the atty.
    6) Changing mash an Kanthal (the resitor-wire) need ony 3-4 minutes.

    The advantage:
    1) Absolutly pure liquid taste!
    2) Never burned taste.
    3) Fast changing of mash an Kanthal
    4) the taste

in connection with my electronics, everyone can adjust the taste according to his wishes.

the code name for my new invention is genisis. Whenever i write genisis, it's this new atty.

    Hope, you undertand this!

    how to make the mesh/wick
The screen is cut to 14 * 40 mm (~ 1/2 inch * 2 inch) and rolled to 1,8-2.3 mm. Now it is boiled at least 5 minutes. The top is oxidized with the lighters. Two drops of liquid on top and again oxidize - done

    1) Cook it 5 minutes
    2) dry it
    3) Take a lighter an glow it to the color of cherrys. 3 times and only on the top side, where the kanthal is.
    4) Put 1 drop liquid and burn it with the lighter.
It should work well. The first 10-30 times it tastes not so good (dont inhale, blow it out). But then you get the absolutly real armone of the liquid like never taste before. Normaly the oxidation has no problem, when you wrapp the kanthal. So older the atty, so better is the oxidation.
    ======
"screen stainless steel". I prefere 300-400mash.
lower mash (250-300) = stromg throat hit, low steam, 400mash=much steam lower flash
Kanthal is also in ebay. You need 0,16-0,2mm diameter ore about 80-100Ohm/meter.
sorry wrong statement. the 0.2mm 45,86Ohm is perfect

The mesh wick tube is rolled into a spiral. So stronger, so dryer. So softer, so more trat hit. if you roll 14-15mm into a 2-2,3mm spiral it is the best choise to begin.

    //Handy= cell phone/ mobile

    mechanical steps:
    1
The IC pins are soldered to the copper wire and then covered with shrink tube.
    2
    Making the screen and kanthal

    3
If you a perfect in mechanics, i prefer using this way, because changeing kanthal and mash goes much faster:

It a very easy way to make the first steps with then new genisis atty

    you need:
    screen mash (325-400 mash)
    kanthal wire 0,16mm or 0,2mm
piece of ceramic tile (from your bathroom)
    screw and nut
    any littel 2-10ml container
mouth tube (from a old PEN)

if stainless steel components are using you have a very "healthy" atty.

It's enough to learn how it works. Everybody can do it.

This atty would drive me crazy Alec had i kept it.
Yes there is always a learning curve to such atties, just a bit too much with this one for my liking.
Slight movement of the posts and the whole atty changes etc
Could spend hours and hours fiddling with this one, no enjoyment for me at all this way.

Good to see your making progress though.
    Gryzor wrote: »

    As above Gryzor.
There is a few people looking to buy one so just decided to sell it.
Got my money back and will hopefully be getting a RDA as well.
There will be more atties produced in the vaping world, at the moment i'm happy with my Bullis.
