CWU did shag all for me and a few of my ex workmates when we got let go from Eircom/Capita a few years back.

Best of luck on the job search though.

In the space of 6 hours I've been made redundant, on Radio 1, on WLR and on RTÉ News.

I was interviewed on the Six One news (Thomas Atkins), interviewed by WLR Radio, and played a clip of me on Radio One. Then on the news yer man from the chamber of commerce commented about what I said on WLR, said he was disappointed I thought there were no jobs in Waterford.

The ex-Ireland international has released a video to accompany the song, which shows him at Curracloe Beach, on YouTube, and it has so far attracted over 5,000 hits.
800723228_14033051-596x362-1315491138927_304x185_inline.jpg Paul McGrath's music video for Goin' Back shows him on Curracloe Beach (YouTube)
There was overwhelming praise for the centre back, possibly from fans of his performance on the pitch, with one viewer posting: 'Well done Macker you are a legend,' and another suggesting he may even be a contender for the coveted Christmas number one spot.
However, other commentators have questioned how tuneful the sportsman's voice is.
Goin' Back will be followed by an album of cover tracks, titled Handle with Care, which features hits such as Elvis Costello's Good Year For The Roses and Christy Moore's The Contender.

A percentage of the profits from the album, which is released on September 23rd, will go to the Acquired Brain Injury Foundation and the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation of Ireland.
Speaking to the Irish Independent, McGrath said: 'It's something new. It's something novel but it's just songs that I liked when I was a young man so I just put a few of them out there to see how it worked.'
He added that it will be 'one off', much to the disappointment of his fans.

Had a hard drive fail on me today with over 500gb of wrestling on it :(

  • Registered Users Posts: 4,888 ✭✭✭Charisteas

No way Cherry Cola, feel for you man. But most of it is probably still widely available to re-acquire though.

I've got around 1.5 TB of wrestling media. It's barely growing anymore now though, at first it was a hobby but after a while it seemed like a chore.

I may make a list soon!

It's annoying alright but should manage to get most of it again anyway. It's the first drive I've had fail on me so a valuable lesson was learned anyway.

Gonna invest in a few more TB drives over the weekend and backup everything again.

If anyone else is into the whole downloading scene, then I'd highly recommend picking up a WD TV Live. Excellent bit of kit that connects to your TV and plays in full HD. You just connect a hard drive or can stream over a network also.

I had a hard drive fail on me once, but it turned out to be the actual external power cable that had broken, not the drive itself. Lucky for me I tried a different cable and it worked, otherwise I may have completely ditched the drive.

So maybe try a different cable before you discard the drive.

Yeah I'm in the process of backing everything up to DVD's and new drives now. Gonna take a while to backup over 6TB's but it'll be worth it in the end.

I tried everything to resurrect it but there was no way to get it going again.

Here's the link for the TV live gadget I was on about:

6tbs is a crap load of stuff. My backup HD is a 1TB and I reckons its half full at best, and I have a lot of stuff on it.

  • Registered Users Posts: 2,922 ✭✭✭Cherry_Cola

Yeah it's quite a bit alright. I've backed up most of my dvd's on there so that accounts for a lot of it. I also have probably every season of every major tv show from the last 10-15 years too.

Went a little crazy with my 100mb broadband connection when living in the UK. Back to 2mb now again :(

    6TB wow!!!

Keep the wrestling and porn, and delete the rest (if there's anything left :p)

I just downloaded the entire Beavis and Butthead collection, should get me through the rainy autumn.

wow that's huge, 6TB. i think i've cumulatively 6TB but half of that is backups.

Just watched a movie called Leap Year. now I knew it wasnt going to be good before I watched it but I watched it for the missus (Rom Com with someone going to Ireland in it) but OMFG it was the worst piece of sh!t ive potentially ever seen. Made Hall Pass which I watched last month on the plane over here (I find it hard to stop watching a movie half way through no matter if its terrible or not) seem like a feckin oscar movie.

Well **** Carragher after today, they'd of never of scored had he not tangled Walters to the ground, don't even get me started on Henderson. Rotten weekend overall with that result & Milan unconvincingly drawing last night. I'm not even going to bother watching the game vs Barca a defeat there is only a matter of how much. Anyone else getting up for the Rugby tomorrow?
