    Hit a bad pothole

On Friday I was driving through one of the industrial estates in Ballymount, behind Red Cow hotel, and suddenly my Passat went down and up so much I hit the roof with my head, I also heard a loud bang. Stopped and had a look. There was a hole, or rather a ditch, going throught the whole width of the road, must have been at least 20 cm dep, no exageration. On my car there was a mark around the reg, so i figured this is what i hit it with. Apart from that car driving normal, no warning lights. Got home (about 15 miles)

Following day I was going to work, got on M50, drove maybe 3-4 miles when suddenly i heard a rattling noise, and a lot of smoke came from the engine and ehaust.

One of the towing guys (had to get two because ins company wouldn't tow me from m50) had a proper look underneath - and there it was, a big hole in the oil pump ( i think, something to do with oil anyway), he even pulled out a broken part. All oil leaked out.

So a mechanic will have a look at it tomorow, but somehoew i don't think it'l be worth fixing. Ah well.

Today I brought out a bit of paper to suss out what the Golf would need for the nct...

    I bought an Indian instead...

(Although to be fair to it, I'd say bar fixing the ABS and airbag light that I broke myself, it'll pass no bother)

Rigged myself up a nice auxiliary socket for my Ipod today!

I've a 97 Polo with the radio from a random early 90's SEAT so it was quite complicated. Some soldering and lots of re-wiring. Very proud of myself :)

Just hope you don't find a heap of melted wires where your radio is in the morning.

Did you hair dryer them off?
There's a faded Union Jack on the back of the ZT that could do with coming off.

Hairdryer - Tooth floss - then remove any remaining crap with your finger/petrol. Then compound.

Just took delivery of some recon'd calipers for my focus. I orderd them from bigredd and the look brand new. They were sliver electro plated and cost the same as I would have paid here. I will be fitting them when I recieve my brake hoses (they got lost in the post).

WOW  Great job mate! I'd say the paintwork is like silky glass to touch!

Re lowering it...yes, I would if I were you. I'll be lowering the MPS using Eibachs when I can afford it! It makes it look a hell of a lot better and sharpens up the handling. No reason why the same shouldn't apply to yours ;)
