    Updates Newmarket Thursday Friday

Campanologist: Never really looked likely and just had nothing in the finish -2
Majestic Dubawi: Backed in from 25/1 to 11/1 but not in it al all and finished out the back , hopefully she runs better next time, as her last run was eyecatching -4
Maqaasid: Again Backed into 7-8/1 but not really good enough it appears. -2
Sonning Rose: Ran an ok race, might be worth a look down in class at a decent price. -2

-10 overall Leaving it a t +38.6 Up to that time

    Saturday Update

MONSIEUR CHEVALIER: Never going well at all, and i had a lot of confidence in him, hopefully hell get back to good form again before the season is out in one of these 6f G1 sprints, probably on Soft Ground. -6 Pointsredface.gif

Icon dream : Ran a great race for a 40/1 Shot (he was backed into 22/1), and finished in 6th place. Hell pop up in possibly a longer trip shortly and needs a strong ride as he got going again at the finish having looked slow to respond early in the straight. -2

Ordinance Row:Travelled well for a while but completely out of it -2

Hotham: Just failed to win having found every bit of trouble possible. Really should have won, the value may be gone as hell surly be supported next time out, was 14/1 2nd pityfrown.gif. -1

Courageous : Ran a great race and looked likely to place until near the finish, finished in 6th, again close. -4

Brae Hill: My faith in him finally paid off, he ran on his own on the near side and won well 16/1 EW: +20 Points

Borderlescott: got bumped early and shuffled back but never got into it again , very dissapointing run, ill probably be on him for the race he won last year as he may be a decent price. -4 Points

Star Rover: One of my fav horses and usually underestimated, just failed to win having been backed into 12/1. 20/1 EW +4 Points

Lost in the moment: Shocking ride here, he had bags in hand at the finish but just couldnt get out in time.. Going to be a very short pricce next time tough 3rd. -1

Dick Turpin: I simply could not believe the price when i saw it , he didnt need to be anywhere near best to win this and duly did. +6 Points

+ 10 Points on the day, but so close to a huge day, i paid for not going EW on a few of the selections as well..

He's currently 25/1 with both PP and Bet365, but he's at 33's with Ladbrokes!

    Killarney 5:05

Pires: His record over 2 miles on good ground is very good really, and this does look a weaker race. His last run was decent enough considering he was on level weights againt a 127 rated horse. His current rating here could be a couple of pounds under his ability and the 5/1 available in boyles at the moment looks value.

2 Points Win 5/1 boyle Sports

Actually available at 8.4 on betfair not sure wheather thats good or bad

    7:45 Hamilton:

Mister Hughie: Ive been waiting for him to show some spark this year, as he has probably been too high in the handicap to get involved, but his last run was a lot better in a listed race at York last weekend, where he split a lot of higher rated horses. His record when having a quick next run is very good and hopefully today is the day for him. He is down to a mark of 100 which should give him a chance and looks way overpriced at 16/1 with PP and Boyles. The fact that the last run was better and he is out again quick which has worked a good few times in the past looks significant.

    2 Points EW 16/1

    7:25 Newmarket

Blue Jack: He is back to his best trip here, and his last run over 5f at york in a handicap was a bit eyecatching in that he was slow away but finished well of a mark of 105. he is the 3rd highest rated in this race of 97 but really if he gets back to form he is a lot better than that. Im hopefuly that he might have a decent bit in his favour today and looks a bit of value at 7/1. We have to forgive him to poor runs over 6 lately.

2 Points win 7/1 Boyles PP

    3:40 Newbury

Telwar: Was well enough supported and despite not getting clear run finished well in 6th behind Maybe at Ascot, altough this is a decent race proven form should give him an excellent chance at what looks a very big price with VCBET 20/1 or betfair. the maiden win form before hand has turned out faily decent as well.

ran well enough for a fast finishing 5th, raced awkardly and could be worth another shot. -4 points

From Yesterday Pires, looked the winner coming up to the last but suddenly ran out of steam after it, money not down from this yard probably told -2

    2:20 Newbury

Royal Rock: His first 2 runs this year were decent enough, in his first run he ran on well after getting romm too late and his second run close enough behind Bated Breath and Sociaty Rock looks very solid now considering what they have done since. He wasnt as good at Ascot in the Soft ground where he appeared not to stay, but he did travel well for a long way, and the firmer ground here (Hopefully) will help him, i wouldnt liek it to get any worse that Good. He looks a bit overpiced at the moment at 14/1 as it make him more like 8/1 on decent ground.

    1 Point Win 14/1 Various

    Newmarket 3:10

Namecheck: I selected him last time in the hope that he came back to form, and did appear to run well getting tired in the end after trying to get across the course to favoured side. The better ground today should help and he looks overpriced for a still possibly unexposed horse on betfair at 24 win 4.5 place

1 Point win 1 Point Place

    Newmarket 2:35

Meeznah: A very solid 3yo campaing where she was only just off the top class, and a good reappearnce in what has turned out to be a very good race at this level makes her favourite for this in my book. There is an unexposed 3yo and near evens which i cant have in this type of race at that price, and hopefully class will tell and she can get a long overdue 2nd win. She looks at least 2 points too big at 13/2 with ladbrokes or 8.0 Betfair at the moment.

    2 Points win 8.0 Betfiar

  • Registered Users Posts: 4,473 ✭✭✭longshotvalue

    Ripon 3:55

Embsay Crag : Consistant horse who was supported last time out but unseated rider, and a good second at the start of this year of a mark of 78 in a better race than this. Looks well overpriced on betfair at the moment considering the mark of 79 and possibly improving.

1 Point win 2 Point Place Betfair 18 win 5 place

    Market Rasen 2:05

Gloucester : This race is right up his street, he was second last year of 3lbs higher and has a very good 3lbs claimer on today. He has been in the form on the flat and looks overpriced at 16/1 at the moment. There is a negative if the ground get any softer, but good/soft might be ok once it doesnt get any softer.

1 Point EW 16/1 EW Various

    Market Rasen 3:45

Grand Slam Hero: He is the winner of this last year but had a very poor on his return this year. But last august he absolutly hacked up in a Chase at Fos Lass of 138, which followed on from a shocking pulled up the race before. There is every chance he has been aimed at this and he looks a huge price of a mark of 140 consider that fos las run.. I cant let him of at 42 win 7.2 place (4 places) on betfair without a small bet.

1 Point win 1 Point Place

    antepost Galway plate

Not a huge fan of ante post bets, but

Chasing Cars: he is a still somewhat unexposed chaser, who had a very good win at aintree last year on good ground, and all tough he was disappointing this year at punches town, he did travel well enough but ran out of steam.. I get the feeling that this race may be the plan and he runs today in a hurdle hopefully to get him fit for the place. 40/1 EW with boyles might just look pretty decent on the day.

Namecheck: Travelled well in rear troughout and finished his race well to win with a bit in hand +26.5biggrin.gif, and actually got a bit on at 42yikes.gif near the off.....
Meeznah: Just failed to concede almost a stone here and ran a superb race 2nd -2
Embsay Crag : Out the back and stayed on at the end to get to 6th. -3
Gloucester : Well out the back and did make up ground but too big a gap had developed to the leading group 6th -2
Grand Slam Hero: going nowhere fast and pulled up -2

    Irish Oaks curragh 3:45

Laughing Lashes: i was impressed with her resolution and fight near the end of the 1000 and judging by her 2yo form she will prefer the softer ground today. She really shaped like the extra trip would suit in that run and looks a bit of value at 10/1, given that most of the rivals in the betting have no softer ground form at all.

    1 Point win 10/1 Various

Amazin Beauty: This is a shot in the dark but on her run against Banimpire in cork, where she never got a clear run and did race a bit awkardly, she could have a tiny chance of a place at a huge price. Aobs fillys often improve with racing and given than there is one filly from the yard that looks to be lower down the pecking order, she may improve a bit to get a place.

.5 points EW 150/1 Stan James

    Curragh 3:10

Look At Me: sure to improve on the softer ground, and back in trip not looking to have stayed at Ascot, good maiden win on soft ground last year, and could improve enought here to get involved. 11.5 on betfair looks 2 point too big

    No luck today,

Look at me got an apalling ride, 3 lenghts last turning for home and flew at the finish, but had far too much to do..censored.gif. Wont be any value next time..
Laughing Lashes, whip was lost in the last furlongcensored.gif and she was responding well at the time, its hard to know what might have happened.

    AYR 3:00

Benny The Bear: He has some decent enough maiden form, and in his last run over 6f at the course looked like the step up in trip would suit. He has form on softer ground and looks well overpriced at 33/1 ew with PP and others. He has also ran well on both season reappearances so far, and that doesnt look too much a negative. He doesnt look and worse or better ahndicapped that most of the field here and seems to have as good a shout as any if he can return to some of his maiden form.

    1 Point EW 33/1 PP

    Ayr 5:00

Northern Dare: He has good form on softer ground over 6 furlings, and very good form on this course in the past including a second in the Ary Silver Cup, its a hell of a long time since he ran under the ideal conditions today, has flewn down the weights and suddently has a very good 5lbs claimer on today, he has to be worth a small bet justin case today is the day, and looks overpriced on betfair at 23 win 7 place.

goes again today, and altough he was poor enough last time, he did seem to get interested at the end, and the blinkers are off which hopefully might spark a bit of interest this time.. Have to go for 1 point win here hell come up soon enough as he drops in class.
