Oldjoesaid: Has been knowcking on the door lately, but this race looks to be the weakest he has competed in this year, and even tough he has been creeping up the weights, he is still on a decent mark for his ability. If he get away at all in this race he should be able to come trough, and look a couple of point too big at 11/2 or 5.6 on betfair

    3 Points Win 11/2

    Haydock: 4:30

Barney McGrew: He has a lot in his favour today 6f good-firm and well down to a winnable mark of 92. He lookd to be travelling well enough last time on the wrong side, and if he can come back to form shown in Mayden earlier this year hell have a great shout of this mark. 9.5 on betfair looks 1-2 point too big.

    2 Point win 9.5 betfair

    Haydock 2:50

Eleanora Duse: looks to be an overreaction here to the Stout form, shes possibly the best in the field has had a single run this year to get her right and looks 2 point too big on betfair at 8.2

    3 Points win 8.2 Betfair

    Roscommon 8:00

Why: The form of her last run is not too bad in the context of this race, and the fav looks abit overrated . Altough she is the clear second choice, ive seen it happen a few too many times with AOB runners and she looks overpriced on betfair given a bit more improvement, ans some good 2yo form.

1 Point win 1 Point Place Betfair 38 win 8.2 place

    July Cup on Saturday

MONSIEUR CHEVALIER: There is a lot of rain forecast in the uk over the next day or so, and any softening in the ground would surly make this price look huge considering his superb run at ascot. Just in case he does handle good ground as well, and im not sure how hes not in the top 3 in the betting here. The front 2 at Ascot pulled a bit clear and he is twice the price of Star Witness whom he beat well that day and also much longer than Bated Breath, who was also well beaten that day. He looks superb value at 14/1 with boyles and he cant go of at that on the day.

    Saturday Review

Time to Own to up to a shocking Saturday redface.gif

Kingsgate Native: Backed into 7/2 4/1, but travelled with the choke out all the way and found nothing, never looked to have any shot at all, i might wait till hes had a decent break before i select him again and hopefully at a bigger price -5
Harisson George: Alough he didnt place he came close enough and was blocked numerous times in the straight, he looks about ready to do something of this mark or slightly lower. Into the notebook for a similiar race in the near future. -2
Very Good Day: Out the back most of the way and them made a move turning for home only to get jolted wide, but didnt pick up after and finished near the back. -2
Oldjoesaid: Never got going at all and never in with a shout after a bad start -3
Barney McGrew: Ran ok, and is probably getting near a mark he can perform again, ill keep an eye for a good draw in a large field handicap shortly hopefully at a big price. -3
Eleanora Duse: Ran well enough but would not go trough a gap on the rail and ran very awkwardly, she has ability but looks a hard ride. -3

Roscommon Monday Why: Actually ran well enough despite drifting in the betting, got shuffled back too far around one of the tight bends and may well be capable of taking a part in a similiar race shortly. -2

Down -20 Points in all eek.gif which is shocking and leaves the tread + 48.6 Points so FAR

    Newmarket 3:00

Campanologist: The horses at the top of the market here have a lot to prove, one coming back from last run at mayden and the other im not sure if her rating is too high.. The selection has had 3 runs this year and the first 2 were decent enough either of which might be enough to take this G" race. The soft ground at Ascot last time may not have suited and he is the highest rated in the race. Hew looks overpriced at 8/1 currently. In fairness he has performed to around his mark on most occasions over the last few years and if he can do that today he will look value

    2 Points win 8/1

    Newmarket 1:50

Majestic Dubawi: She is a previous selection of mine that ran an eyecatching race last time after not getting the best run and running on again near the finish in a very similiar race to this, she may the the class horse of the race and the mark could be one that she can work off. \group 3 winner as a juvinile over 6f and that form would look very good of this mark here. Lowish draw in 8 could be decent as well.

    2 Points EW 25/1 Ladbrokes

    Newmarket 3:00

Maqaasid: the Fav is going to be very difficult to beat here, but the selection ran 2 very good unlucky races in the english and french 1000, and looks a bit underrated. Getting the 3yo allowence should give her a chance. She was really flying at the end of the french 1000 and the way the form of that race has worked out she may be amont the best of the current 3yo milers if she can get a run this time. She looks about 3 points too big at 11/1 with Paddy Power

2 Points win 11/1 Paddy Power

    Newmarket 1:20

Sonning Rose: Had a very good 2yo season, but has been poor enough this year until a decent performance in a similiar 7f handicap Epson, when running on well at the finish to finish 3rd. She ran at Ascot next but in a better race and finished midfiled. 25/1 looks a good price for her chance of placing here.

Icon dream , ran an eyecatching race in teh Plate last time, and looks as tough the step up in trip will help if anything. He had far too much to do turning for home but went from last to 7th, finishing really well. The ground here should suit and he stands a very decent chance of placing at a big price. He was supported last time as well so there may be a bit of stable hope for hi and the current price looks likely to shorten

    York 3:55

Ordinance Row: Looks to have been given a chance by the handicapper here with a drop to 95, after a poor first run this year when looking like he needed it. He had a decent run at the end of last year when just not staying in the end at doncaster of 102, and if that first run has put him right 95 could look lenient.

    York 5:35

Hotham: Ive selected him a few times at huge odds this year without success, but he is back here in the race he won last year with a much lower mark. He has a great course record and has been given a real chance by the handicapper if he has any of last year form in him at all. Hopefully this has been the plan for a while.

    1 Point win 14/1

    Ascot 2:30

Courageous : Ran a superb race last time at ascot when just failing to get home in a very hot handicap, the step back to 6 f here and a decent 5 lbs claimer on could put him right in the firing line here and he looks overpriced at 20/1 with Ladbrokes. The ground is on the soft side of good which is ideal and a similiar run to his las will get him in the places here.

    2 Points EW 20/1 Ladbrokes

    Newmarket 2:45

Brae Hill: Going for a 3rd try with this horse, the softening ground will help and he hasnt had the best of luck in running lately, but his mark has been slipping while not running badly. It is unsure what the draw will do today but he is low and if hes on the right side he stands a great chance at a decent price.

    2:05 York

Borderlescott: Ive been waiting to see if he would get to 4/1 and he 5.0 on betfair and 4/1 on Betfred , so i think this is a decent overprice. I rate him 5/2 to win here. Hes the best horse on form and has had a nice break. His run earlier on this year behind Sole Power would easily be enough to win this and he now looks good value at 4/1

4 Points win 4/1 Betfair or Betfred

Star Rover: Terrible draw but , has had a few decent runs lately and he has been dropping in mark. 20/1 with will hill is just too big. One of my fav horses, but hell score one of these says soon.

Lost in the moment, i think he will be suited to the better ground, and considering his awkward looking finish at ascot, he should stand a great chance here and looks a point or 2 too big on betfair. He could still be improving which is whats required in this race

ill update saturdays bet later on.

    Kilarney 8:25

Sebadee: This looks a very open race, and his form last 2 runs put him in with a great shot here. Particulary his second last run at cork over the trip. He is a consistant hurdler and the 12/1 with Bet365 looks a bit big in this race. The ones ahead of him in the betting dont really stand out as having any better chance.
