Yet another bore fest, nearly a week gone and no competetive game has been seen. Its not about assosiate members (the 50 over matches in Australia were dire as well) its the format, it just does not work anymore.

    Of course it works.
Fifty over cricket is excellent. If I want to watch non-stop slogging, I'll go to nets.

We've lost the toss. Bangladesh bat 1st. I prefer when we chase anyway :D

Of course it doesn't, hence a week of non competative cricket. You might as well watch in the nets for all the excitement so far. I never once mentioned wishing to see slogging or sixes being hit, and I am no great fan of 20/20. In theory 50 overs should make for good cricket but far too often it doesn't, the middle overs are usually terrible to watch. A few changes to playing conditions could improve the game if only to add some urgency.

Missed that wicket being taken but by Cricinfo description looks very impressive

"Mooney to Imrul Kayes, 1 wide, OUT, stunning work from O'Brien behind the sticks! Absolute lightening and the crowd is dumbstruck. Complete shock and silence as Kayes tries to flick to leg, overbalances momentarily and O'Brien makes a leg-side stumping look eas"

Run rate down to 7 now. I have Bangladesh to score less than 299.5 runs @ 5/6 - anybody else betting on this?

Commentator said 'they'll be dancing in the streets in Ireland' - obviously has a good grasp of the massive cricket following in Ireland. :D

  • Registered Users Posts: 583 ✭✭✭Is1ldur

This is looking pretty good, despite the poor first few overs.

  • Registered Users Posts: 12 nikksandhu

another one gone, i don't think they will pass 230 or so:D:D:D

  • Registered Users Posts: 583 ✭✭✭Is1ldur

I thought it was a bit much when the commentator said the Irish would be heading to the nearest pub to enjoy the game. By the way, those bloody ads are ridiculous on the stream I am watching.
