Roll on tomorrow morning. Hopefully a classic awaits

Think Sri Lanka will win this. Bit of a mess at the toss earlier

Amazing stuff from Zaheer Kahn so far. Very strong opening for India

Amazing how Indians are keeping SL to such a slow start. Remember, Lankans are know for their explosive start! Zaheer is doing a brilliant job.

'suppose it partly answers some of the comments in teh previous page where someone was dismissing Indian bowling as 'not very good'.

Excellent fielding by The Indian team really keeping the pressure on though as well

Great start by India so far, Zaheer is playing brilliantly atm.

Absolutely, brilliant team effort so far. Keeping SL'ns at 3.6 RR is some achievement. Hope the pressure beings down a couple of top order wickets.

Just two FOURs in 11 overs!! Well, Sreesanth is back, so that might change soon.

and right on cue....... An offical warning and a second no ball and free hit of the innings for him

Ah the little muppet..! I wonder if Dhoni is already regretting bringing him into the team for the crucial final match!

Thought SL runrate is still low, they have setup a decent base and they can go on to 250-300 if they wish from here. SL'ns have the upper hand anyway - that pitch favours the team that bats first - as it gets damp and slow down for the second half of the day-nighter.

This is going to be a good match I thnik..!

Dilshan bowled! If India can expose the Sri Lankan middle order before too long they will have this game by the throat completely

    Bhajji strikes...!! :D 60/2 in 16.3 overs.

Might be an idea to give Yuvraj the ball soon. Sreesanth is a liability. Should have definitely played Nehra instead of him

  • Registered Users Posts: 39,541 ✭✭✭✭KevIRL

Absolutely crucial partnership this for Sri Lanka

    and jinxed it

  • Registered Users Posts: 6,299 ✭✭✭spiralism

India should send in Zaheer now and really go in for the kill

EDIT: Instead Dhoni sends in Sreesanth. Anybody ever seen India get quick wickets? They're always quite a few runs apart whenever they do..

Sri Lanka getting on top here a bit. Jayawardena staying in is key, he has to bat through the innings

  • Registered Users Posts: 39,541 ✭✭✭✭KevIRL

Fantastic knock by Mahela. Game very much alive

I think that last over could be the game changer

    The last 5 overs really

Very good score in the end. Was looking dodgy at 182-5 after 40 overs but brilliance from Mahela and some good hitting from the other end.

If Sri Lanka bowl well they should win, but there's a bit more uncertainty about their unit without Mendis and Mathews. There's the potential for India to get off to a flyer.

Massive massive wicket for Sri Lanka

Sri Lanka have to be favourites from here unless there are some heroics from the middle order.

  • Registered Users Posts: 39,541 ✭✭✭✭KevIRL

Surely India have to win from here

I have no idea what is going on. My Indian compatriot in the bar here in Agra reckons 70/30 India win. The riot squad are out here- bad sign? Boards please enlighten, I was refreshing here during the Ireland games.

I thought SL had started bad but came round to a very good total and India similarly... but we see some boundaries now!

    India won :D

Sachin looks pretty comfortable up there :p

What a way to win and who else but Dhoni to do it. Fantastic effort. Sri Lanka have been great in the tournament as well.

Best moment of my life. Tears of joy. Finally we won the world cup.. Cheers Team India. It was really an exceptional performance. Couldn't have asked for more.

Yuvraj whom many wanted out of team answered his critics so well.
Sachin at 38 played such a crucial role.
    Zak leading wicket taker.

    Thank you Team India..

India played well but disappointing choice for man of the match and tournament award tbh
same for semi finals, they gave it to tendulkar? great player but he performed poorly with 4 lives. Seems like they were compensating as a send off gift and making the nation happy.
Definitely should have been Wahab Riaz for the quatre finals and should have been Jay for this match.

There was so little between Mahela and Dhoni today, infact Dhoni scored while chasing and performed under more pressure. More often than not, Winning team player gets the award when it is close.
