I'm pretty sure it's nursing, child care, and one or two other things that require a medical, otherwise you're fine.

Real quick question guys. Got my email requesting payment and sending forms electronically. Now I have my IMM1295 all ready to send except one thing. My 10 year work history would not fit into the form (there's only room for 3 jobs) so as the instructions said, I included a second page with the rest of my work history in my paper application.

Now, when I go to email the forms, obviously I cannot add another work history page to the pdf file. So do I send another copy of IMM1295 with just the work history page filled out or just wait for them to request more details?

Don't want to risk any trouble given the delay in processing.

I wouldn't be worrying about something like that. I didn't have much to put in in terms of work experience so if yours is already filling up the whole space then you don't have anything to worry about. They ain't going to stop you getting a visa because of that. Just two of the three. I didn't have any fancy work work to put down and I was fine. It doesn't really matter if you don't fill up the work space. I sure didn't.

But if you're that adament then can you not add another document along with the form? A word document etc? I forget now but if you can add more than one document then do that. However, I would highly advise against sending a second form. I think that would either confuse, annoy, or anger them. Some people are fussy and this is a visa we're talking about so I wouldn't do it.

To be honest I would either send the original form and put in the three jobs while filling in less info on the each job. Or do two jobs with more info. That seems the best option in my opinion. I don't remember anyone being refused a visa because of something related to this so don't stress it bosco :)

    Hi guys,

Just wondering how yous are getting on in toronto?

Me and my boyfriend are from Dublin and we are moving to toronto in October and we are so confused about where to live.

I'm a fashion stylist so I would need to live within good distance of shopping areas. Wherever that may be. My boyfriend's a bartender so if we lived quite close to cocktail bars, hotels, pubs that would suit us.

Does anyone know of any good areas to live? reasonable rent, good location etc.

I'm a bit worried about the cost of living. Is the pay good in bars and retail which is probably where I'll have to work until I find a job I want. How much outgoings would you have a week roughly living there between bills, rent, food, transport, socialising?

Is it possible to live somewhere where they have short term leases? because we want to travel a bit.

    Hope you can help!!

Hey guys do you know when you fill in your application online and validate it, do you need the $2500 in your account at the time or can you apply for the visa and then show your proof of funds at the border? Seriously confused and in a bit of a tissy here since there is so few places left atm. Any chance there will be another batch released before september?

Edit : just read on here that you need it when you apply. Fecks.... Going to do some serious grovelling to get some money! Ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh

Guaranteed there will be no visas when I have the money together on the first week of next month

Of course you don't need it to apply! Where on the IEC's website does it say they ask for proof of funds at any point... It doesn't.

It does say however that you need a bank statement shooing proof of the funds on arrival in Canada. That is dated no more that 1 week before your arrival. Apparently it not even certain they will ask you for proof then either!

Seriously. I'd link you to the website but I'm on my phone and can't be bothered. ;p
Consider the IEC's website your only source of accurate info.

I'n the same boat, paid on 25th and haven't heard a peep since

My friend and I paid on the 26th of April and still no word either. Was thinking that maybe the fact that my 12 day period contained a weekend and a bank holiday weekend might have slowed things down a bit! That's what I'm hoping anyway!

Why they can't just send out an automated email the second the money is lodged in their account is beyond me, would save us all so much worrying!

I'm in the same situation. 12 days passed on Friday and still nothing! I think were gonna need a bigger boat at this rate!

    Hey there,
I have received an email saying my application has been approved. I think it's an IMM5665. Is this confirmation that I have got my visa? I haven't had to prove I have funds in the bank, and I just got the email to say I met the visa requirements 2 weeks ago. Just want to make sure this is definately it.

You dont need to proove funds anymore for the IEC you may however be asked when you enter Canada to activate it but they never seem to ask either then but just to be safe carry proof

Thanks jjbrien. So is this definitely confirmation that I have my visa? Do I get anything else from the Embassy before I go?

No print that off and give them it when ya get to Canada. You'll then get your work permit.

    Hey All,

I was waiting on my Police Cert for yonks to learn they'd lost it. I manage to get one rushed through, but with only two weeks left to get my CIC application approved I'm nervous it wont be in time.

Does anyone know how long they normally take to process the myCIC?

    Thanks
