I really need to get a second monitor in to monitor temps etc but I just dont have enough room. Iv done some meaurements and all I can fit is a 15' monitor but I look around and they arent a great selection

    Any suggestions?

    This?

It'll be interesting to see what kind of cinebench scores X99 8 cores will have overclocked to 5ghz+ with ddr4 ram..
Also with the ratification of cat8/7a it could be the start of seeing at least 10gbit nics as standard on the x99 boards. especially with usb3.1 being 10gbit.

I still can't see myself upgrading for at least another while anyway. The 3930k is still going fine touch wood, and more than anything it's network and storage that's my bottleneck.

I really doubt the 8 core can get anywhere near 5ghz if the 3ghz base clock is to be believed

This. I really want 10GbE to be a thing. According to ASUS though, as it stands, they could integrate 10GbE onto any of their boards (probably the WS ones though) but it would add a $100-150 premium, so by the sounds of things it'll be a while before this happens.

I'm going to agree with deceit as well; I'd be extremely surprised if that 8-core part got anywhere near 5GHz. The 6-core one is only around 3.4, and with the 8-core one having to get dropped back to 3.0, it doesn't exactly inspire confidence in its overclockability.

Mount it above the current one? Then you could have 2x22" or whatever, or one smaller one on top.

I really want another monitor too but I wont be getting any time soon.

I use my g19 keyboard together with a program called AIDA64 to monitor EVERYTHING that I'd ever want to look at. Pretty customisable and relatively easy to set up.

It displays all that on the LCD screen on the keyboard.

Might that not just be to keep within a certain TDP envelope EG. 130W in terms of both power draw and heat dissipation with a stock cooler. ie. For those of us who don't care about the power bill and are going to slap on a much better cooler be that a Twin Tower air cooler, AIO or Custom loop, we can blow right through that 130W TDP on a K series chip without a care in the world till we hit the stable voltage limit and/or heat dissipation limit. While 5GHZ on this is still doubtful of course I'm sure we can still get into the 4.5GHZ range surely even on the 8 Core X part

Thanks for the suggestion Serephucus but I would prefer not to use a monitor bracket

The best bet is that small monitor

Oh, you got it already? Nice. Enjoy it m8. Its very simple with no bazilion extra buttons, but it just works and feels so nice. Transition should not be too hard too. I was able to jump on to deathadder from my old mouse with no problems at all.

Yeah, I ordered when you suggested, well after I read a bit. It's exactly what I wanted :D

sorry if someone already asked this but i'm only noticing this now, has hardwareversand lowered there shipping price? mate of mine ordered the bits for his new comp last week and the shipping was only 11.99 instead of 18.99

  • Registered Users Posts: 7,179 ✭✭✭Serephucus

Yup. It's been that way for a few months now. It's pretty damn good considering Dabs charges around €7.50 to deliver from England.

  • Registered Users Posts: 1,185 ✭✭✭IrishMetalhead

that's really good then, it actually make buying some single items off the site worth it and not just whole builds and bulk orders

  • Registered Users Posts: 22,929 ✭✭✭✭ShadowHearth

It's a shame that they have not joined 21st regards online transactions or PayPal.

I've used PayPal every time I've used the site (bar one order).

Same here but I had to create a new account under a different email for some reason and then it gave me the option to pay by paypal

  • Registered Users Posts: 626 ✭✭✭Seaaan

Your delivery and billing addresses just have to match, I always got the option when I made them match.

  • Registered Users Posts: 22,929 ✭✭✭✭ShadowHearth

Well thats new. Do they charge still 3% on top of that?

  • Registered Users Posts: 2,183 ✭✭✭ZeroThreat

I think it's just a German trait. They're stolid, old fashioned & unwilling to change when it comes to the financial end of things.

Not really new, I bought my first system there almost 4 years ago now and I used PayPal. I think it's a 1.5% surcharge.

So happy to see GTA V for the pc finally announced

  • Registered Users Posts: 626 ✭✭✭Seaaan

Still definitely not worthy of a pre-order. Could be another horrible port..
Also, since I've played it on 360 I doubt I'll buy it until it gets cheap, online could be fun on PC..

  • Registered Users Posts: 53,963 ✭✭✭✭Headshot

The PC version will be the proper version. None of that ****e resolution and graphics of a console.

We will see GTA the way it was ment to be
