The man is a bumptious prick.

and he won't be able to indulge in this sort of thing.

But he could right an epic poem about it

Which epic poem do you think needs to be righted

    Oh Presidency of Ireland,
    How I love your symbolism,
    As head of state,
You are as useful as a broken gate,
But you mean so much to me,
    To me,
You mean so much to me.

Michael O'Leary, he could turn Phoenix Park into an Airport and I'm open to suggestions for the Aras.

You've got to be f*cking kidding me. I swear, if there's any chance that he becomes our head of state, I'm renouncing my citizenship.

    Higgins >>>>> Bertie

Ah, c'mon, he's not that bad; he was just saying that he doesn't like the idea of Michael D. Higgins becoming president.

Had considerable respect for this guy BEFORE his performance on Morning Ireland this morning ( no not HIM!)He started out ok by being fairly gracious about Fergus Finlay but then went on an epic ego trip including 'letting slip' that he recieved a standing ovation at some recent conference/lecture...Finlay would be a far better Labour nomination ,Id also like David Norris to get a good run at the job...

I'd gladly vote for Michael D, anyone, as long as Bertie doesn't get it

So what exactly does the president of this country do anyway? Besides live off of our taxes?

I like Michael D Higgins, David Norris and think Shane Ross is brilliant. But I don't want any of them or anybody else in the Park. The question should be, why a President at all. Like the Senate, it should be abolished. However, if we must have a President, let's have one of the above. If Bertie is elected, that'll completely shatter my faith in this country. Then it'll be time to emigrate. :(

    Don't be silly. That's Trappiatone's job.

I think he would make a very good President but I would prefer if he stayed in politics and being a voice or human rights.

No thats his translator, we wouldn't have a clue what he is at if it wasn't for her.

I wonder will we be ordered out of this thread

    No
Look, does it really matter which of those who've put their name forward gets elected as long as it's not that odious snake Ahern?

David Norris is an elitist numpty. At one stage, he campaigned to have the Georgian Terraced street in Dublin - where he lives - gated at each end, in order to prevent common "plebs" from using it as a short cut & making the place look shabby.

If he was made President, he'd probably close the Pheonix Park to the public, as he wouldn't want to see the filthy masses messing up his garden.

But then again I'm an elitist numpty so, I guess we'll get along!
