    Yeah i seen that from the comments. I seen a Focus user say that the sound enhancer works for him. So im having hope :P

    Sound Enhancer runs, but I'm not sure it works. I cant notice any sound difference, and I'm a bit of an Audiophile

    So now that i have actually debranded and flashed to NoDo, how do i go about getting other updates like the latest security one? O2 said that if i tried getting them off of zune it could brick my phone so now im a little worried.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 6,277 ✭✭✭evolutionqy7

    Mmm i think bricking is only for Omnia 7. And that was fixed. Hence why Omnia users had long delays. And officially still dont have NoDo.

    What did they say about Zune bricking it?

    Most people just went that way anyway. Did you force update or did ya flash it and debrand it the way it was done on XDA with package exchange?

    I did it the way you told me to with the RUU Shubert files and such and whenever i try for an update i get an error like i always had which is annoying.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 6,277 ✭✭✭evolutionqy7

    I dunno dude. Ill have a look around XDA sometime. Too tired now.

    I wouldnt worry. Tbh as long as you dont go on porn sites and pages with tons of advertisement your safe :)

    Either way Ireland isnt that much targeted for viruses and crap and wont harm ya :)

    What error does it give ya?

    Wahey :) its the 1000th post for the thread :):D

    The error code I'm getting is 8000fff or something to that effect. Very annoying.

    Did ya click on check online link and see what does it actually mean :)

    Did ya try to restart the phone. Try different USB port or a diff PC all together~? Worked for some. What operating system you running?

    Once again, much appreciated. Used my sister Windows 7 PC and the update is going on to the phone as i type. Looks like I'll need to ditch Windows XP on my primary PC fairly lively.

    Oh well then... :)

    Alot of people reported that things dont work they way they should on XP for some reason.

    No one should be on XP at this stage :) Its over 10 years old :O W7 is the new XP :P

    Its still shocking that there are PC's out there being used with Win2000. You can pick up a notebook for approx 250 quid these days with W7 start on it. Does for most people who dont want to spend too much or need much.

    Or get a desktop :) my desktop is nearly 4 years old and still working perfect :) just had to buy W7 last year to speed it up from Vista :)

    More leaked Mango features:
    Up this time are not only Windows Live but Facebook Chat integration from the People hub, Group SMS messaging, SkyDrive integration into the Office Hub (yay!), and what looks like a complete reworking of the games hub:

    Yeah my primary PC is a desktop from 2005 ish so still running on XP and just haven't bothered to upgrade as i didn't need to until now.

    And yeah the Windows 7 PC i'm using for the Updates just happens to be one of those 250 ish quid Netbooks.

    Hey guy, just a little tip. I set up a new Windows Live ID, with America as my region. Now I've got a lot more cool stuff on my phone, Zune pulls down photos and info on artists, and there are more apps in the marketplace.

    The downside is that I'm using a new ID, so I cant play games as my Irish Gamertag, but to be honest, I've found the XBL features on windows phone to be VERY lackluster anyway.

    But your achievements!!!! :D

    Ah no I'm pretty happy with wp7 now. I've been playing around with the Galaxy S all day yesterday and just found the whole OS to run smoother on WP. Still don't like the quality of Android apps. They don't seem as nice and sexy and easier to operate than wp7 apps. To many clicks and back button clicks :)

    New drivers for Omnia 7 to apparently fix the problems with updating. Lol its the same problem galaxy s had with drivers...samsung!!! (growls)

    Updating the security update as we speak now :)

    Any mention of Flash Player for the browser?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,089 ✭✭✭DjFlin

    I'm still hoping for MS Points transactions. I've a load of points on my Xbox Live account and would love to be able to use them on WP7.

    To be honest, since I switched to an American account, I've been much happier with WP7, I'm even thinking of signing up to Zune Pass.

    Would love a Zune pass :) Its pretty much the biggest thing that pisses me off about Microsoft is that they always treat Europe second best to providing full features. Dunno how long has Bing had a beta tag for Ireland.

    Full Bing would so own google (except in maps - but hope that changes soon). Just the local news feature and feedback from others is so handy.

    The US version of Bing is great. Just waiting for something to see here. Full Zune Marketplace as well. Zune pass was the main thing every other platform was jealous of. And we dont have it......

    Though i cant switch. All my purchases are on my current account. So switching would loose me a good sum of money :(

    And **** loosing all my game saves again :D

    1st time was reflashing,
    2nd time was when it went of for repair.

    So there aint gonna be a 3rd time till some sort of restore game saves function is there.

    Would love if they kept all the game saves synced to the cloud.

    No word of flash. Though with HTML5 we will be able to watch youtube videos in the browser. Tbh as long as i can watch youtube videos in the browser i dont care do we have it or not. It used to chew up the battery life on my HD2 if you tried watching it in the browser. Also i dont miss the adds :)

    Yup, this is all I want as well, just to be able to watch videos in the browser, the Zune pass and would love the Microsoft points to come in as well.

    About freaking time is all I can say, WP7 is about the only thing Angry Birds ISNT on yet.
    I'll be getting them with my american account, I wont be able to get my achievements on my Irish account, but its a small price to pay for full features.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 6,277 ✭✭✭evolutionqy7

    Not a fan of angry birds :) Plants vs Zombies is something im waiting for :)

    Not sure if anyone will be able to help me but do any of you know of a GPS app that will give Irish National Grid coordinates or is there any way I can get that on my phone?

    how about this one

    Trekbuddy is a J2ME application to be used with a GPS receiver. It is designed to work with every Java-enabled device.
    It features capabilities such as:
    * GPS tracking and simple navigation
    * bitmap maps (without zoom, you can store bitmap maps with different resolution instead)
    * arrange maps as atlas for increasing and decreasing resolution
    * trackloging in NMEA or GPX format
    * simple navigation (to a single waypoint or along a route)
    * compas screen (HPS)
    * cockpit screen (CMS)
    * location sharing via SMS with other trekbuddies
    and more.

    It supports most commonly used map projections and grids, such as:
    * Latitude/Longitude
    * Mercator
    * Transverse Mercator
    * Universal Transverse Mercator
    * Swedish Grid
    * British National Grid
    * Irish Grid
    * Swiss Grid
    * Lambert France I-IV
    * Lambert Conformal Conic
    as well as custom datums.

    As a location source:
    * bluetooth or serial port GPS
    * internal (integrated) GPS
    * NMEA file
    * HGE-100 device
    * O2 Germany network
    may be used.

    I dont think WP7 has java support.

    Even Windwows Mobile didnt really have Java Support. Had to get a third party app to run cabbage on the HD2 :)
