2:30 Haydock
Betfred "The Bonus King" Be Friendly Handicap
I like the look of Desert Phantom in this race; he has dropped a lot in ratings this year, and has had a couple of very positive runs. He looked to be in with a decent chance of placing at least last time but didn't get a good break when needed. This might signal a return to some form which, of the current mark, makes his price of 20/1 Paddy Power look good value. He hasn't had a lot of running for a 4yo and was an excellent 2yo. He is coming into this race fresher than most of the field - which can count towards the end of the season.

    3:05 Haydock
Betfred Kingspin Old Borough Cup (Heritage Handicap)
I'm going with the outsider of the field here as there was a lot to like about the running of Macarthur in the Northumberland Plate, coming from last to 7th over the last 2 furlongs and it was at least a sign of some kind of return to form. There is the appearance of a 7lbs claimer in this race for the first time, and it really puts him in on a very low weight. I think his last run can be ignored (it would have to be) as it was over too short a distance. Currently 48.0 win and 8 to place.
    1pt win, 1pt place

    3:35 Haydock
    Betfred Sprint Cup (Group 1)
All the form points to Starpangledbanner winning this race as most of his main rivals are not running - but he's just not value at 2.56 and AOB didn't seem to be as confident as he was before previous races when he spoke earlier this week. I'm going to give Kingsgate Native a great chance to return to form here, as I'm finding it difficult to find any other dangers in the field - and he may be better suited to the good going than Regal Parade. He hadn't a great race last time but that can often happen in these sprints and that run has made a decent price available for this. He is currently 10/1 with Paddy Power

    Non runnerfrown.gif..

Going for Archers Road, in the same race i was torn between the 2 anyway.. He is very consistant of this mark and some of his form reads well with the fav for this race.. Didnt really get the run of the race last time, but still ran well.. Looks well overprice at 16/1 with Stanjames. Im sure the low draw is built into his price, but there is alot of decent horses low, and it mightnt work out that bad.

1 Points Each Way 16/1 Stan James

Desert Sea, 2:05 doncaster. Has solid form this year and is 2lbs down from excellent Ebor form has won on the course, and look great value at 16/1 EW with LAdbrokes

Sea Of Leaves, Doncaster 3:50.. Strange decision to run 2 days in a row, but some form lately makes the mark look good, and i detected a bit of expectation of something happening soon in one the the recent races..

1 Point each way 25/1 Ladbrokes..

  • Registered Users Posts: 4,473 ✭✭✭longshotvalue

Tastahill, Doncaster CUP 2:40, this trip may be his ideal and was staying on last time, just looks a bit overpriced, in a race where there may not be much between a lot of the runners.

1 point Each way 25/1 Stan James

    14:45 Doncaster,Ladbrokes Portland

Striking Spirit, was in super form earlier on this year, of a 5 lbs lower mark but has a claimer on today to bring him down to around the same mark. He’s had a bit of a break and may be set out for this race. The extended 5F here may be his perfect trip. He is drawn in the middle which will give him both options. On looking at his 2nd in the Wokingham again it looks a really good run given that he met a potential star.

There is a fair few quid queueing up on betfair to back it and ladbrokes are the Value at the moment at 25/1

2 Points Each Way 25/1 Ladbrokes

I have him too, just a little worried about the ground. His best form and only wins came on GF. Its a lottery of a race though.

  • Registered Users Posts: 4,473 ✭✭✭longshotvalue

14:15 Sandown, Berrylands Handicap (Div 1)
Osiris Way: has some good C&D form earlier this year off the same mark, and has had a decent break, which has proved beneficial in the past. The draw is not ideal but he looks to represent value off this mark.

2 Points Each Way 20/1 Stan James Coral.. I honestly tought hed be half that price..

  • Registered Users Posts: 4,473 ✭✭✭longshotvalue

15:55 Doncaster, Eddie Stobart Park Stakes (Group 2)

Balthazaar's Gift. last run in the Betfair cup was eye-catching in that he didn't really have the run of the race and looked to be really getting into gear at the end, admittedly with a few others. Has run well in all his races this year and has had less racing than the majority of the field, which counts at this time of the year. He looks the best value of the potential winners in what could be tight race with very little between a number of runners. Currently 19.5 win 5.3.

    1pt win, 1pt place.

    14:25 Goodwood, Bluebay Handicap

Carnaby Street, Like to look of this one here, he is broung out quickly from a half decent run during the week, where he appeared to be travelling well, then just jinked and was eased after. Must be in with a chance on perfect going and distance.

    1 Point Each Way 20/1 Bet365

  • Registered Users Posts: 4,473 ✭✭✭longshotvalue

    17:15 Goodwood,Terry & Geraldine Earle Handicap

Tartan Gunna, looks a bit of value here, has come down to a decent mark, and has course and distance for in the past. Overpirced

1 Point EW 14/1 EW Coral

  • Registered Users Posts: 7,838 ✭✭✭Nulty
