Is there a way to change the style of the dialer(keypad) in insanity? And add back the sound for tapping a key. It's the only part of insanity I don't like.

Right, I'm on darkys 9.5, what is the best way to move over to insanity??

    Links please guys, links :D

Switched over to darkys a few weeks ago! Thats the beauty of android, I can move as much as I want :).

Rc isn't much more than a beta really. They are just leading up to a final stable release, thats my understanding anyway.

Insanity 8.1 links in 2nd post.

I flashed to his EZbase first and then up to Insanity 8.1, but previously I didn't bother with EZbase.

    RC = Release Candidate

A version that is nearly ready for release but may still have a few bugs.
Usually the status between beta and final.

There was at least for Froyo, but I`m not having much luck finding some for ginger bread, you could use a theme?

Ah man, don`t let that hold you back, it is worth it.
I can definitely say that it is faster than Froyo, even when I had all animations on!
It does. Installed 8.1 this afternoon.

Did anyone else find Darky's 9.5 sluggish. I eventually went back to 9.3 before moving to insanity again today.

    Cheers lads

Darky's 9.5 was blazing fast for me. As fast as Insanity. I did a complete wipe before I installed it though.

I have a few questions ye might be able to answer:

1.Did you lads use EZOdin to flash EZBAse or did you use Odinv1.3?
Insanity's version of odin is Odinv1.7 and I've seen a lot of reports that Odinv1.7 is not as stable as 1.3. I have always used Odinv1.3. Can I stiill use that to flash EZBase?

2.Can I go back to 2.2.1 if the phone needs to be sent for repair? The Bootloader is changed on 2.3.3 and I was wondering can I just flash a stock 2.2.1 over the 2.3.3?? Can't send a phone for repair wth 2.3.3 on it.

    3. Can I just back up and reinstall my apps with Titanium Back Up? Does is make a difference that they were backed up on 2.2.1 but getting reinstalled on 2.3.3?

    Thanks

That`s a mouth full of a question, lol.

    and this one, looks better...http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=948790
just know what your doing, because bootloaders are some serious ****, but you won`t need to do it cause, when does anyone need to send a phone back for repairs when there on a custom ROM? :)

3)No, I restored my apps and with a little FC here and there and such, any you have a problem with just get it again from the Market.

Note though Quadrant does`nt work on Ginger, it gets stuck some where along the line, I tried both of them...

    1. I used EZOdin
    2. No idea
    3. I've been restoring apps from darky's 9.3/9.5 onto insanity 8.1. No problems so far. ( I did them selectively rather than restore everything though)

No idea. I put down the phone while it was starting and only remembered about half hour later. Usually about 5 mins max though.

So...8 min later and it is on the Galaxy S Gt-I9000 screen :( I'm scared.

    Will leave it another bit.

What method did you use? Odin or CWM?

I used ezodin and then I simply used CWM to install insanity from zip.

http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=991792 - This guide. All went fine apart from turning the phone on.

Did it start up into EZbase?

I started into it first before flashing. Not sure it makes a difference

    Nope

Going to go for a shower and hope that it is working after that.

Taken 20 min so far. Can't find anywhere that says how long it should take :(

I've never waited that long. I'd always have re-flashed by now.
Or turn off and back on again.

Ok turned it off and....back on and.....nothing :(.

Should I reflash insanity or what?

Try insanity again. And do a wipe after it's installed. Then start up.

If still doesn't start, get back to Ezbase at least.

EDIT: did you do a wipe before starting insanity the first time?

The guide didn't mention a wipe

Do you mean wipe it like before rebooting? Like right now while im in cwm

Reread what you said. I have now wiped it and waiting again for a reboot

    Really appreciate this!!

Yes I've forgot to wipe in CWM before and all my old apps were still there but broken.

I've always done it after flashing. Might be worth doing it first. then go to download mode for Ezbase
