Had a great weekenbd for tasting some beers :

Pumpkin Ale from ór : Really liked this beer as never tasted anything like it before. Very mild sweet tasting like a bitter than a slight spice kick too at the end.

O'Haras IPA on cask: Such a different beer to the bottled version which really surprised me. I didnt think it was as hoppy as the bottled version but was still a good beer.

Eight Degrees Knockmealdown Porter: Really liked this beer and not as heavy as I was thinking it was going to be. Got a nice sweet kick too at the end but nothing too strong.

Brewdog Hop Kills: Just reminded me of a slightly stronger 5am saint. Not complaining as I like that beer too but just seemed slightly more hoppy.

Got the 6 for €12 deal in Superquinn the other day. 2 Sierra Nevadas, 2 O'Haras Red, 2 Curims.

Was in Blue Bar in Skerries also and had Metalman pale ale and Trouble Brewing Or Ale.

Metalman is a very pleasant drink but a little bland imo, I preferred the Trouble ale.

Had a bottle of 8° porter last night, very nice if a bit lighter than I like. Nice and smooth, chocolate and spiced plum notes made for really good comfort ripple though.

Brewdog Hops Kill is up next, alongside some lambics and Flying Dog

Just to let anyone in the Swords/North Dublin area know, The Old Borough pub in Swords village has gotten a range of craft beers in. I know for sure they have Galway Hooker on tap, they have a total of 8 craft beers on tap and others including O'Hara's in bottles. You will have to forgive me for the hazy details but I only found out from the brother in law who works there and he couldnt exactly remember which ones as he hadnt been in work at the weekend!

Tonight I'm having a bottle of Theakston Old Peculiar. I'm very pleasantly surprised, picked it up in Dunnes a few months ago and never got around to drinking it as I wasn't expecting much, but it's delicious.

I've waited a good few months for it to come back but I have a few Erdinger Schneeweiss chilling in the fridge right now. ;)

Spent a few days in Brussels and got a special visit to the Timmermans Brewery, Itterbeek. Got to try loads of their Lambic and Geuze Beers, the Geuze beers are pretty special, apperently Premier International have put in Irelands first order so keep and eye out for these over the next few weeks, might only be getting the lambic range though.

We made our way through many beers in the Delirium Cafe (over 2004 beers available) and upstairs in the Hoppy Loft (specialise in american/hoppy/weird beers). A few standouts where Buffalo Belgian Stout, Morpheus Tripel, Kwak (in the cool glass), Southern Tier Pumking, a 113 IBU IPA from Slyfox, Timmermans Oude Geuze, Rulles Brune and of course cans of jupiler on the train. I just wish I had kept some sort of record, still, its a hell of a place.

I'm having a tactical nuclear penguin. It's very nice but obviously also very strong. I'm enjoying it though

having a harviewtoun old engine oil porter.

6% 330 ml bottle. described as viscous, bittersweet and dark on the bottle. Bought it because it said "craft beer" on the label.

quite strong tasting. would only drink one or two, would be interested to see how it complements food.

Yeah that's how much I paid on the brewdog website. It was for a special occasion though

Never posted anything in here before but tried this:
http://www.mauritius-brauerei.de/biere/frameset_biere.htm (the Bock Dunkel) on Friday last, a little stronger than usual but you'd never know it. It doesn't have the after taste that I find with a lot of them.
It will be done again hopefully.

I don't know, I have the advantage of living in Germany at the moment so I have access to a few more.
A bar near me does a beer of the month so with that we get to try different ones from all ends of the country so it's a good way to try them without having to travel to far.

Perhaps they're available to buy online? The other guys here might be able to steer you to where to so.

Beer of the night.. "Saunaolu", couple of bottles of this I brought back from Estonia a while ago. Perfect night for it. Generally supposed to be had during or after a sauna, hence the name. Harmless enough stuff.

Enjoying a can of this now and I'm impressed. It's very nice, although I'm not sure about the can livery, bit too much like a can of soda pop.......but maybe that's a good thing?!

Rogue Juniper Pale ale: Having liked the Rougue dead man ale in the Bull and Castle I looked forward to this.

In the end I was kinda disappointed as it was just very average in my mind. Slightly sour bitter taste but no strong taste to be honest.

Did you get the cans in Ireland as so far I have only seen them in the UK.

I was browsing in the local off licence last week, the one in Finglas Village, can't remember the name of it, anyway, I came across six bottles of Trashy Blonde from Brew Dog which were out of date by about a week.

I said it to one of the lads there, and the look of shock on his face, he was genuinely startled that there'd be OOD stock on the shelf.

Anyway, they were priced at something like 2.50 per bottle (330ml) and I asked him if he'd do a deal on them, and the manager said half price, so I stuck them in my basket, along with some Fuller's ESB - when I took them to the till, he did them for a euro a bottle, so fair play to him.

the shocking thing was, both the assistant lad and the manager of the off licence were giving me all kinds of weird looks and even going so far as to comment on my health and safety, and I was assuming the risk, and they weren't responsible if something happened to me from drinking OOD beer.

The rest of the Brew Dog range was just about to go OOD too, must head back in and get me some more.

 Isn't it heartwarming to see two seasoned professionals so expertly knowledgeable about their products.

Did they have a world beers section including all those pale ales that come from India as well?
