lowry has a big red face on him at the first tee
dont think hes suffering from exhaustion
at this stage in the season it is usually mental strength that is tested most
he prob needs a few sessions with bob rotella, bill cullen or some other such guru
his game should be very fluid right now - sure hes been practicing full stop for a whole year

i think we'll see a top 10 finish in either the scottish or british open next season
he should comfortably qualify for dubai
and should squeeze into ryder cup qualification territory

who knows, maybe by the next ryder cup we may have two lowry brothers competing along with the two italians

Is that Penny Apples Bill Cullen or some other BC who knows something about golf. Is it the Bill Cullen who suggested on National TV that people should work for nothing or is it a BC who who would charge young Lowry for his Professional services. Please tell us who the Bill Cullen is who you mention in the same sentence as Bob Rotella.

Ya, was following his progress. He had a bogey on that hole yesterday as well so a good turnaround. He needed this confidence booster, also to cement his place in the top 60 on the Road to Dubai.

Going to be tight, afternoon starters off now and already tied 66 so just outside. -1 cut would be very low with -8 currently leading.

Good start today from the Biffo - birdies first 2 holes to get to 6 under and is currently tied 6th!

Touch wood he will go low!:)

only got to watch a small bit of coverage last night and Lowry got a nice bit of TV time - too bad it was showing dreadful puts.

Best of luck to him over the weekend.

He could do with a good week - 60th in the R2D, and he's been pretty average last few weeks. He's definitely got low rounds in him.

-3 today with 3 to play.

  • Registered Users Posts: 691 ✭✭✭ghosttown

Finishes at -7, all good........notice how all the people in the 50's and 60's in the R2D are hovering around top of leaderboard. A top 20 should keep inside the field for sure...

  • Registered Users Posts: 13,589 ✭✭✭✭Aidric

+3 today when the field was burning up the course. Most likely will fall out of the top 60 on the R2D.

Hard to know, good few of the top 60 didn't make the cut.

He'll jump ahead of Richard Brand but Aiken and Finch look certain to jump ahead of him. In fact 5 players in the top 15 are from 61 to 69 in the rankings.

    Is he safe ?

Borderline i'd say. Needs a couple of decent finishes to be there.

  • Registered Users Posts: 8,541 ✭✭✭Speak Now

Those threatening him are not actually making hay today, could still be 60th after today. Seasons earnings up to 450K now. Nice!

  • Registered Users Posts: 13,589 ✭✭✭✭Aidric

Jesus that was some fold by Pablo Martin coming home. He was level with Green with 4 to play.

  • Registered Users Posts: 6,207 ✭✭✭durkadurka

Lowry slips out of top 60, down to 62nd.

Really needs a few half decent weekends. He makes enough cuts.

Based on last year he needs to make about 75k more in the next few weeks to make top 60. Its still been a very good first full season for him.

    -3 thru 7 so far.

  • Registered Users Posts: 13,589 ✭✭✭✭Aidric

Lowry bombing on the weekend is becoming a familiar trend.

  • Registered Users Posts: 6,207 ✭✭✭durkadurka

Yeah he makes loads of cuts but hasn't delivered at the weekend for a while now.

  • Registered Users Posts: 2,072 ✭✭✭bigtimecharlie

Propping up the field, +4 for today after an 8 at the par 4 7th.

Top60 R2D looks a long way off. He will need a big cheque of about €60k to be safe.

    Agree.

Would have to assume it's fitness issues and hope he may use this as a signal to get into shape over the winter.

Not necessarily, it could be mental and related to concentration. However from my rugby days I know if you aren't worried about fitness it is a lot easier to concentrate on actually playing the game.
