The SU was loved for many of the same reasons the micro m4 carbines of today are....TOO short for the powder in the cartridge, inaccurate due to barrel length, etc. 'Suka' rather fitting no?

for shame, for shame just kidding, if i got my hands on a PPk i'd be following the hawks lead and skirmish in a suit :D

    I have a PPK,
    I have a Suit,
    I am a Hawk...

You'll never see my rocking up to a game in a suit...

    :p

Not exactly the hawks 'first'... We've been rocking maffia games in the UK for years now :P Though columbian drug lords is often more amusing.

Richard dear.... a ppk? From all that bluster I'd have thought it was a desert eagle :)

copys of russian smesh and gorka about to hit the market, depending on the price could be a good thing, but considering the price of the real stuff and the ease of purchase know a days they would have to be very cheap to be useful http://www.flickr.com/photos/31138508@N02/

Where did you get the Kobra from? Can you let me know how you got on with it? specifically build quality and possible sight ghosting. Also, if you do have a problem with it, does the sight hood make the ghosting go away?

    Thanks.

  • Registered Users Posts: 1,156 ✭✭✭tonyj_mc

it was teh clone one on ehobby, doesn't appear to have much ghosting but the dot is fairly faint, uses AA batts as well so thats handy.

    its this oone here

Thanks for the info. Much obliged. :)

Is the dot still usable even if it is faint?

Also, do these reviews reflect how you feel about it?

That is a great load-out, Tony. The Kobra looks the business.

How much did the SMERSH rig set you back?

Cheers, had a quick go again not great batteries but it was the brigtness it was the all the aiming reticules besides the dot one was a bit fuzzy. When i get out i'll post a full review can't wait :)

the Smersh was a bit pricy got it from www.soviet-propaganda.com ordered it before christmas and they shipped pretty quick, it came to $216 (i ordered a radio pouch not realising it came with one) including delivery (about €150) considering the quality and how muchclone vest from china cost it was a bargin i think

    heres the link
    http://www.soviet-propaganda.com/index.php?main_page=product_info&cPath=3_47&products_id=269

Just realised looking at this that i left the main belt in work, woops

  • Registered Users Posts: 622 ✭✭✭ZeroSignal

    Thanks Tony.

Now, I'm hoping someone can help me with this: I'm in the market for a new rig but I'm not sure what to get. Since we're basing ourselves on the VDV(ish) and I'm looking for something that would work with that.

I'm seriously considering the SMERSH rig because it's low profile (so it won't interfere with feeling hits) and it can carry 8 AK mags. But I don't want anything superfluous as I want to keep costs down. What on this page do I need to have a functioning SMERSH rig? (minus the pouches of course):

Is there anywhere I can get any digital flora/Russian digital pouches or vests? Redforces has run out before I got the chance to buy any. :(

So, I'd be okay if I got just these?:
    http://www.soviet-propaganda.com/index.php?main_page=product_info&cPath=3_72&products_id=257
    http://www.soviet-propaganda.com/index.php?main_page=product_info&cPath=9_66&products_id=173

Or would I need this to mount the AK pouches and not have them slide around?:
    http://www.soviet-propaganda.com/index.php?main_page=product_info&cPath=3_72&products_id=199

I'll probably go for the same pouches you have. I'm even considering just getting the pouches and just mounting them on a belt. Although, I get the feeling they'd just slide around a lot.

sorry i meant one of the wide belts with a plain belt over it, sorry wasn't thinking when i was typing, don't think it needs to that specfic webbing belt (narrow one) i'd say anything a similar colour will do
