Marry somebody, inherit the farm, then turn him into a farmer... ;)

Ah he has to have a natural born talent for farming, otherwise it'd never work & we'd just be poor farmers...and that would not be good :)

Noooooo. No farmers! Never getting to go anywhere or do anything fun, because winter and spring is calving and summer is silage, autumn is harvesting and then you're into calving again. No farmers - smelly wellies, green-bleached yard clothes, long days, short nights (and not in a fun way) and constant struggle. No farmers. Nuh-uh!

Each to their own :) I grew up around it and love it, ok well maybe not the smell! Plus I'm hoping to have my own horse in a couple of years so I need land for it ;)

Don't get me wrong, I spend a few hours (minimum) most Saturdays, and usually on Sundays too, helping on a farm, but it's not a lifestyle I'd choose for myself long-term. Farming is a vocation, it's not something you can go into blindly, or with a rosy view of things. The work is often it's own reward, and darn it, if I do the work I want the money, not just the satisfaction of getting to the end, ta.

There are a lot of great, positive things about farming, but the flipside outweighs the benefits imho.

On my boyfriend I love his nice straight teeth he has an amazing smile  He also looks cute in his glasses and can pull off the backwards cap look and not look like an idiot :D

Glasses on a man can be delicious I'm talking giving a kinda cute guy the extra nerdy edge!

A little pudge on a man can be lovely too as well as scruffy looking hair

Its funny....I HATE my glasses and am spending a fortune on lasik just to feel comfortable in my own skin.....

I like strong arms on a guy, preferably my husband! Have always had a thing for arms...cannot be skinny or over muscular...just strong and protective arms. And neat hands at the end of them. Again, luckily the other half has these :D

Am loving all the guys who like girls without make-up - good for you. :)

I like a passionate man........ like just grab me and kiss me where ever. Or on the other hand get cross at me....when i deserve it of course!

+ 1 million to this. I love a man who won't just agree with me or go along with something I've done/want to do for the sake of an easy life.

I've always been crap at having arguments in relationships because instead of defending myself or crying or something, I just stand there with a cheeky grin on my face and then end up pouncing on him. I love an angry man!

(In a non violent way )

    Oh, and a filthy mind.

Supposedly I have a thing about ears, it has been mentioned to me, but I'm not exactly sure what type of ears I go for either so it's very subconscious unlike my feet one. Also love a fella that has nice shoes.

-1 on the glasses, as a glasses wearer myself it gets awkward sometimes...

  • Registered Users Posts: 12,342 ✭✭✭✭starlit

If a guy wears a nice suit...makes me go weak at the knees sometimes...
Anyway, if a guys hair on his chest peaks a little bit around the neck line once he isn't too hairy tis ok! The chiseled, just out of bed, scruffy look!

If the guy wears glasses that suits him is nice too!

Iv a thing about a guy having nice hair and eyes, and a well shapped back don't know why!

That's really weird....most guys HATE being tricked into anger by women...you may think it's cute, but it's tough enough keeping male aggression and strength when other guys are acting annoying but when women do it it's even worse cos society looks down on women getting a slapping.

And finding a guys filthy mind sexy? Do you have any idea how many times you've been mentally torn a new one/raped/used as a **** slut just by guys you walk past on Grafton street?

I'm really bemused by women who find potentially explosive stuff cute or quirky or sexy...Rant over

Is there really any need for that?

It IS a bugbear of mine that women toy with psychological facets they shouldn't toy with and with seeming ignorance of the material they're working with

The language I used was deliberately visceral because the original poster and a few other women on this thread no doubt consider it all fun and games and 'Aren't men so cute when we wind them up? Isn't it so PASSIONATE to get a guy angry...it shows he really cares about what I think' etc.....

It's bad enough to find out women like guys in glasses after I just spent 3000 euro on LASIK

Women want it both ways: they love the raw primal aggression that men spend their whole lives channeling into rugby/work/beer etc...but then when a woman gets 'physically/domestically/sexually abused' it's all 'bring back the death penalty' etc....

Anyway, that's just one of those modern female attitudes that really irks me.Rant Over :)

I agree. Please tone it down Josh_Calvert. I'm sure you can explain your position without going OTT.

Though FWIW Josh_Calvert it is one of the things that irks me too. Any woman in my life that has instigated emotionals just to tickle her fancy was shown the door.

Who the hell mentioned 'tricking men' into getting angry for our amusement, or deliberately pushing buttons? I'm pretty sure all anyone said was that they find a guy who isn't a pushover attractive...

I personally find a guy with a temper to be a massive turn-off, but that's just me.

Not specifically, but some of the attitudes women express (and then pretend they never meant in the first place) irritate me.Originally I was just curious to see what women find attractive in guys, it's enlightening and irritating in almost equal measure :)

Ding dong...reading all the pro-glasses posts is steaming mine up and making me ruffle my scruffy hair. Christmas has helped me hone my pudge as well :pac: But seriously, kinda cool to read some girls prefer my type!

As for me, I love girls that wear glasses with thick frames. Particularly red glasses on a blonde girl w/ blue eyes or thick dark glasses on a dark haired girl. Yes it is oddly particular!

A big fan of winter clothes too (wooly hats, knit wear etc). Reminds me of wanting to snuggle up with a girl in front of a roaring fire.

Lastly, I have a strange love of girls having half their hair tied up.

Edit: Just noticed all the rape/**** posts, my post about liking knitwear and red glasses should reassure girls that not all guys are thinking that. Some are thinking "wow what a great pair...of glasses" :D

Woah, dude, relax the cacks. You'd swear I'd mentioned domestic violence or midget porn as my specific turn-ons.

Why would you assume I'd ever 'tricked' guys into anger? That's a bit of a telling assumption if you ask me. To the contrary, it's merely a light-hearted approach that has taken the edge off an argument and led to many happy endings.

And all this 'raped/**** slut' bullsh1t? Be careful. I can't speak for the male population but I'd find that representation grossly offensive if I were a man. Or a rape victim. Not to mention the fact that it reeks of misogyny. You might want to consider your target audience the next time you decide to post.

Sorry mods for going OT, just couldn't let this one slide.

Muscular upper arms and a nice back!!! Nothing nicer than a sexy back (don't ask what makes a sexy back :o )!!! Quite weird I know     Not a fan of glasses as I wear them myself but don't not look at guys who wear them!!!

The things I notice about, or make me look twice at, guys:

    Blue eyes...they're just so piercing
Glasses, especially those thick-rimmed black types
A guy who can pull off a shirt (and tie), especially for work, without looking uncomfortable.
    Ruffled/scruffy/standy-uppy hair.
Someone comfortable in his own skin (i.e quiet-ish/doesn't play up to the crowd)

Feels a bit weird putting down the "ideal man" here...feels a bit like a Personal Ad in the Farmer's Journal! :pac:

I totally get what you were trying to do with that emotive language ...but ... that whole 'women want it both ways' thing is applicable to a lot of men's views of what their ideal woman is, you know a fox who is highly sexual and at the same time someone who they can snuggle up with after they cook them up a big feed and will be the perfect mammy ...phew rant over.

Yeah, hmmm. I'm going with the sexy -back thing. And smoldering eyes. I like them. And can he drive a digger/fastrack please? And have the serious hots for me....ha!
But the quirky thing is ENGINE OIL. I love the smell of engine oil in the morning....sigh! ;)

I like hands. Large, well-kept hands (ie no bitten fingernails or hang-nails), with long fingers.

One thing I really don't like in men is massive shoulder/neck muscles. Like in the pic below. It freaks me out.
