    I agree with ciarraioch1, I just don't get the "can't be bothered" attitude in this college. People moan about the place being like a school - is it any wonder when they refuse to do the things that go on in other colleges. :rolleyes:

    College is what you make of it - if you can't be bothered you lose the right to complain.

    PS: When I was an undergrad our little "group" had a crazy time in Mary I, but we were the exception to the rule...

    I like to think I'm less of a sheep than the majority or Mary I-ers. Or does that in itself make me a sheep?

    Ok, different story though, and this is actually crazy. I was really bored last night, and I'd used up all my usual stops on the internet, so I decided, "shure, we'll see what's on 4chan.". Now, for those of you who don't know, 4chan(NSFW and generally just not a safe place to hang out, full stop) is the bottom rung of internet depravity, you can't sign up and must post as an anon, so you essentially have free rein to say whatever the hell you want. And /b/ it's most popular forum proves that when humans are given this power, bad things ensue. I rarely go there, and VERY rarely post, but that's how bored I was.

    So, I went over to the site, and into /b/. Hung around for a bit, read some threads, the usual stuff about "Boxxy" and "milhouse not being a meme", and "if this post ends in a 3 this never happened" when up pops a thread called "Eirefags get in here". (4chan calls everyone a ____fag, or a ___tard that's the way it is) SO, I go into the thread, and I post that I'm from clare, blah blah blah, when suddenly a post comes up saying "I'm from Cork originally, studying in Limerick to be in primary teacher, it's such an anti sausage fest in there" she then went on to say that all the guys were technophobe idiots and that they all had STDs.
    So I post saying, "I take offence to that, I'm no technophobe". ANOTHER, person replies to her directly after me saying they're in 1st year in group 3, then the girl replies to both of us saying, no way, who are ye?!" Before I could reply to either of them, the thread 404'd and now I'll never know who I was talking to on that faithful night.

    TL;DR there were 2 people on /b/ last night from Mary I! Insane.

    :eek: 4chan and Mary I are two things I never thought I'd see together.

    Oh and I couldn't be telling you about the stuff that went down when I was an undergrad...sheer madness...and then there was study abroad in America, which was just off the scale insanity. :D

    Tell me about it, when I saw it I laughed quite loudly, you should put up a sign in the college saying "could the students who were on 4chan in /b/ on saturday night, please report to reception IMMEDIATELY." That'd be awesome!

    Why yes, yes you are. In fairness it's not difficult, there's only 5 regulars in this thread! On the plus side, I'm willing to guess that Mary I has the largest ratio of mod posters to regular posters in any college in the country at 2:5. That's a 40% moderator count! :P

    Can I just say that I have an intense hatred for the lovely ladies in the education office.

    I visit my senior tp school on monday..and we were told that we should know our school before that morning..friday if we are lucky like.

    So thats a half week of tp prep,
    two weeks tp
    week of exam prep
    exams; which are mostly 4th year psych exams where we will be compared to final years that had the previous month to prepare for exams while we were expected to do the same, despite tp.

    Best 5 weeks ever!!

    Ah yes.... Mary I are a disaster of a college to be fair! same kind of thing happened with us and senior TP, us and infant TP.... you'd think a college which specialises in training teachers who claim that the most important part of the course is the teaching practice, who have been doing the same damn thing since they opened would have figured it out by now?!?
