    Well wear Mark.

To say I'm jeaous would be an understatement!

Got 29mpg average from it in the port tunnel on cruise today.

Crappy pics, only camera I could get is in work so it's neither washed or scenic but you'll get the idea.

Very cool Mark, nicely subdued in Silverstone.

    Best of luck with it.

Absolutely gorgeous although I did prefer the dark grey one that was for sale.
One thing I don't like about the E90/92 M3 is the cheap plastic pedals.

Normally i'd prefer the grey, but the silver with the carbon roof looks fantastic... Don't like the idea of a grey M3 either...

Again Mark, very, very nice car.

It's very hard to get the colour to show up in the pics but it's more blue silver than silver, it's an M exclusive colour, a lot of people seem to go for it in the M5 if you know the colour I mean.

Pointless to bring it up now, but did you consider Nissan GT-R?

  • Registered Users Posts: 4,002 ✭✭✭rabbitinlights

Bit of a weird question, but when you get into the car does your seatbelt get "given to you" by a little metal arm above your right shoulder?

Yes . When the ignition is on, the seatbelt is automatically given to you.

Yeh all E92s have seatbelt handover.

Didn't consider Nissan no, wanted something subtle enough, an everyday car. GT-R is an amazing machine but just doesn't appeal to me as an overall car. Mean that in the same way as I'm sure plenty of people don't like M3s!

il weld the back doors closed on a nissan micra and rip out the back seats and buy a 09 redge plate for 10K

Semi. They're the standard M3 tyres though.

Should be fun on typical semi-submerged Irish roads

Fair enough, actually I remembered now, someone mentioned in a review that while GT-R was a great track car is was a pretty bad everyday car.

So, yea M3 was the best choice.

First off, Congrats Mark and well wear. A truly sporty and involving car.
Do you find the ride much different from your old car, on normal everyday driving with the semi slicks?
    Just curious?

Far, far better. Using the same roads pretty much everyday and it's an awful lot better.

Between putting run flats onto all of their non M cars, and giving Chris Bangle a carte blanche in the design studio BMW did a lot of harm to themselves over the last few years.

It's crazy that the most hardcore car in the range is the most comfortable!

Have BMW sales not dramatically increased since Mr Bangle's styling was introduced? - He may not have got it right 100% of the time, but I think alot of his designs will be looked back on as being classics

The run flat's are not the most comfortable, but you can remove them and they are handy when you do get a flat.

    +1

I'm amazed that they aren't aluminium or stainless steel. You would think for the price you are paying that they would be in some way different from a bog standard 3 Series.
