Ah gardengurl it is so fustrating, when you put on or dont lose anything, but to be honest the only option is to pick your self up and continue, it has taken me years of dieting to actually put this into practice, I think the turning point for me was when I looked back on last year and realised that if I had stuck with my points and even if I lost nothing I wouldnt have ended up putting on over another one and a half stone! So basically quitting my diet because it wasnt working ended up with me been heavier than ever, a tough lesson but one that makes me view this whole dieting issue differently. Last week I did not lose but I didnt dwell on it I kept thinking of the 7.5 lbs I have lost, and I think that for me anyway is a much better way.
Also when I was younger I used to find that if I went over my points at the weekend once I stayed on track for the rest of the week I would usually lose, not anymore!! I think the pro points allowance and weekly allowance is really allowing us to eat the max amount we can and still lose weight, any more and there will be a gain or sts.
Its great that you got up this morning feeling positive and continuing on, you sound really determined good on you, hope next weeks scals are kinder. Keep focusing on what you have lost 5.5 is great in 2 weeks!

    Gardengurl,
have you been taking measurements, this is another great way to see small changes and give yourself a boost.

My WI is thursday mornings, and I am finding it slow this time round but I have more faith in this new system being a proper lifestyle and longterm change.

I take my measurements on monday morning so its gives a little midweek boost half way through my WW week.(even only a half inch off some part of you is a nice boost because its another physical and tangible representation of your hard work)

    Hi Rachel,

To calculate the ProPoints you need to use:

    Protein
Carbohydrates (full amount - not sugars etc)
Fat (full amount - not saturated etc)
    Fibre

    http://www.calculator.net/weight-watchers-points-calculator.html
This is a link to a calculator that might help!

Thanks girls, I love the new PP plan and feel the better for it, even if the scales tell another story.

I will do some measurements this evening and see how I get on!! I am going to point every crumb this week....I'm finding I don't even miss chocolate, crisps, alcohol etc as it's been 2 weeks now and they've left my system!

I can't say it enough, this thread is so helpful...no amount of classes could give you the support you receive on here!! Thanks again :) x

300g was 17PP. Hope that helps!

Been doing quite well so far.. but well, it's been only 2 days really.. and now the weekend is here and that's what i dread the most.. during the week is hardly any work to stick to it, it's the weekends when i seem to lose control.. we'll have to think of ways to keep my head busy with other things..

Anybody out there dreading the weekends too? what do you do to overcome weekends binge?

Hi, Im the same, I find weekends the real killer but I get weighed on Monday nights so in a way thats a good incentive to stay on track.

Im only in week 4, and because its January and no one has any money after Christmas there hasn't really been much socialising at the weekends recently. However as we get into February and March I know It'll get harded as I could be very good during the week only to fall off the wagon at the weekend!

I do find someone weekends difficult. As soon as I resolve that I'm not going to drink for a few weekends, we get invited to a party or it's someone's birthday. And if your not drinking you get all those raised eyebrows wondering if you're pregnant!

We don't go out as much as we did a few years ago coz my OH doesn't drink anymore. So I don't even have the designated driver excuse!lol!

But the weekend is the only time I get to do nice dinners that might take an hour or more to cook such as casseroles or stews. Things that are really filling but need you need a while to cook.

thanks a million! I got them from ginseng in the white water center for lunch. Were yummy but it's so hard to point things from a fast food place!

*bangs head on keyboard* BLAH! its just ONE of THOSE weeks.....
this weeks weight in is going to be a disaster....had my injection this week, which always puts me up on the scales. plus the dinner party, plus my melt down over having to learn to drive.

But going to work hard this weekend still and i'm sure i'll have a good result next week.

I got Quorn mince today and those birds eye veggie burgers!

the large ww pizzas are on special in dunnes stores, they are 8.5pts old system and 13pro pts in new system. they are down to 2 euro each!

Alot of the kellogs cereal bars are on offer too, they are about 2pp each! I stocked up for my college days when all i have is a quick coffee break.

This week may have been a disaster for me, but I'm setting my self up for a very good week next week!

    Hi,
Well done to all the losers this week. Minx23 thanks very much. It's taken 2 and half years to lose the 4 stone. Apologies for the very late reply I was at wedding yesterday.

Finally got back to exercising today. It's been ages since I've been out for my walks and it's shown on the scales (I've sts for the last few weeks). I feel so much better after it. Gonna push to get my third silver seven next week.

Well done to everyone who had losses.

Kildareash I'm the same as you re the drinking. I drink on big occasions but on normal nights out I wouldn't. It's irritating people coming up to me being like why aren't you drinking and if I say I'm trying to lose weight they see it as an insult to them because they are drinking. Next time I might be cheeky and say I'm pregnant and see their reaction then :D

    Hey guys,

Anybody been to Nando's for a treat? Went there this eve - had chicken fillets burger (10pp) and sides of spicy rice (5pp) and ratatuoille (4pp) ordered a big bowl of salad leafs for the table (no dressing for me)

So for what tasted like a bita tasty treat food was only 19 pp.... had a low point lunch (WW pitta stuffed with veg and tiny bita roast chicken and bowl of friut)

    Any body been?

Usually when Im not drinking like yourself im driving, so I guess its an excuse in itself :D I try like yourself to only drink on occassions.....

fair play for getting back at excerise, sometimes I find its a bit of a pain in ass to get up and go but when you do you always feel great after it:D

My crazy Friday night in - a bowl of Cully & Sully vegetable soup and a banana sandwich!! Gone are the days of a chinese and a few vodka's & WKD!!!

Brought my 3 year old to cinema today (went to see Tangled by the way, it was brill) and ended up getting popcorn and a drink, but to my credit a smaller popcorn than usual and no sweets....Actually felt like crap after it, maybe I really have turned a new leaf

Just wondering how people plan your week?

do ye point as ye go or do ye plan out what your going to eat during the week or just plan for the next day? Do ye have the same dinners like every Monday, same dinner every Tuesday? I'm thinking of doing out a 7 day menu this weekend. I think it would really work for me. I know what my weak days are. I'm just kicking my self i didn't think of doing this earlier.

My week kinda looks like this....

I know on mondays i have really long days, so i know i need a FAST dinner when i get home or i'll end up eating a loaf of bread as toast!

Tuesday is work placment. I'm freezing and tired by the end of the day, so I crave comfort heavy filling food (spuds)

Wednesdays (mid week blues) REALLY long day in colleg! This is when i need my treat dinner!

Thursday.....aaaaaah the weekend is in sight, short day in college so i can exercise....the days i get to the gym inspire to eat healthy cos i dont want to undo my hard work at the gym

Friday...(TGIF) Experiment night! Try something new...all the washing up can wait for saturday morning! Feet up!

Saturday....Bake more breakfast muffins! And make sure i've enough of everything in stock for the coming week. More gym time saturdays

    Sunday....Weight day! New week starts!

so going to do out daily meal by meal menus, taking in every little break i have in college to keep me in line :D

    Hi Lainy,

I can't believe I never thought of doing this either and it would help me out a LOT!!! I'm lucky in the sense that I only work 3 days a week 10 - 4.

I'm finding it hard with recipes tho!! I'm not into vegetables or pasta so kinda find I'm limited with what I make...Any suggestions? I made a shepherds pie last week and the pp it came to for the tiny amount wasn't worth it...think i'll give the quorn mince a go!!

I don't know if any of you tried this site before (www.eimhear.com) - she's a leader in Dublin who puts up recipes and that. I was on today and they're all still in old points values but I might try convert some of them over the weekend....will post as I do!! I made her tomato soup and it was so yum...we even used it as a bolognaise sauce and would be perfect for a pizza sauce! x

oh I'm the same with meat....i'm loving that a nice piece of steak is only 7PP and Pepper sauce is only 3PP for a pack, but only use 1PP worth! I could really get used to that yum!

Also, could you send me the muffin recipe too? Thanx x

Lady Lainy I generally plan out my main meals the night before. This suits me better as I'll generally go with what food I have in the house. Whatever points I have left over I use on snacks and treats. I'm finding that I'll use a few of my treat points every night. I don't generally drink at the weekend and I've never been a fan of take aways so I don't need my treat points for that!

Boxoff I should start driving more on nights out as it would solve the question problem!
I've a really bad exercise habit. I'd go a few weeks where I do great and then I miss a day and it's so hard to get back into it. I felt great after my walk today and cooked a lovely chicken carbonara for dinner!

    Eabha x
