What you saying, you get taken in based on the numerical order of your UID?

maybe, all i know is i was a at my IST A/C and medical with the same people so i assume we're grouped together and would be all offered the same intake

just got word today that im getting in for August.

Tom, well done mate. You've been lurking in the shadows haven't you? :D
Go on over to 'I'm In' thread and say Hi to your August colleagues (that's if you are capable of typing with your hangover today :D)

    Hi guys,
No call this week :(. I'm not going to think about it now, things happen when you least expect it. Have to concentrate on my driving test . Well at least there isn't a weather warning for this weekend  hope Monday is ok. Someone said about UID groupings and I think that is a good explaination as to why people with lower numbers are getting in first so cheers for that too. Congrats to tom and everyone else that got in. :D

cheers lads, heads a bit sore today!

Egwene in response to your query, recruitment just give me a call yesterday saying they were able to offer me a place for august and that they would then post the pack out.

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 10 HGVwannab

Well guys I think that could be it for Aug intake. I kinda gave up after the Friday calls when I compared merit scores. I think there was quite a big range of scores in the Aug intake, maybe people who have had their place guarenteed but were waiting on vetting? So is this going to be 5weeks until the next phone calls go out for September?

  • Registered Users Posts: 229 ✭✭BoutYe

Time wise for the September intake im guessing the calls are going to be going out roundabout the start of the August intake so first week in August.

For all we know calls might be going out next week as well. Usually people get called up late due to others not wanting to join anymore or whatever.

Exactly. Don't give up hope just yet people.

well people, didnt go the best didnt go the worst!!declared medically fit bar my knee cap, totally gutted!! they havent ruled me out yet which is a positive, im being deferred until i see an orthapaedic surgeon, they want to see what their opinion on my knee is, as they dont want to take a risk!! its going to be months before i can see one on the NHS, since i want it so much im just going to pay the couple of hundred to go private, the sooner i deal with it the better!!i also have to get glasses to drive a
police car:( just got to keep the spirits up and do everything i can to pass!! as wanalaugh said never say never!!

does anyone no how long they will defer you for?

thanks so much to everyone who give me theyre support for the medical, really appreciated it!!!!:)

    Given

Get onto the ulster independant clinic immediately. They will see you with in a day or 2....they will have the report to you in days.

Get on the ball asap. I too had to go private for my eyes ....got a report from a consultant to say things were ok.
Once i presented this to the board I was accepted....this was in a previous campaign.

Good luck with the review mate

Its a bit of a hold up but its not over yet, get appealing!

Hi Given. I agree with Alan, I also had to get a medical report on my hearing. Ive high freq loss due to gunfire. The guys in the ulster ind did a great job on the report. Go for it pal, but do it as soon as you possibily can. Its good to know but, that its not lost. I know how you feel, ive went through the same. I have a gut feeling you'll be fine.

Hi Given, I'm not sure if the procedure for medical deferrals is the same as if you need to defer your training due to personal reasons, but I was told by external appts that if it's under 6 months their supervisor can authorise it; if it's over 6 months it goes to the director of recruitment for a decision. However, if it goes over 12 months you also need another medical and re-vetted (as these are only valid for 12 months for applicants).
Hope this helps. Chin up mate, you'll be ok.

Does the 12months validity apply to vetting? Mine was complete recently and I'm waiting to post off vetting for C14. Would speed me up a bit if they can still use my C13 vetting for C14 as well.

Hi HGV (;)) Yes I was told by external appts that the vetting is only valid for 12 months. I would guess that your previous vetting would help speed up C14's as you would probably just need a 'refresh.' All the best.

hey people sorry im only geting back to yas now, was having problems with the pc!
havent got round to going private yet, will by tomorow!! bit stuck, if anyone can help me it would be appreciated!! the hollywood arches clinic had already referred me to see an orthapaedic surgeon on the basis of my MRI scan result on the nhs, before the date of my medical, the waiting list is three months! if i was to go private, would it have an effect on my application on the N>H>S? as i was told that its through the same channel! as i will more than likley will need an operation at some stage and could not afford it privatley only the consultation!

i was speaking to jody gormley, the antrim gaelic manger and he give me a number for an independant who specialises in the knee, thats my other alternative!!im so unsure of what to do as im not sure for def that going private through the ulster independ... would have an effect on my application through the N.H.S!

will have to ring occupational health to make sure of the time limit i have!!

thanks again for all the support and help:)

sorry for posting in the 'waiting room' psni, ill post in the medical section from here on!!
