IST invite email through; it begins :D

They must be sending them out from 4.30-5.00! (presuming office hours means it closes at 5?)

Mine still hasn't came. Do you think they are sending them out in order of who applied earliest?

Just glad it's (hopefully) on its way!

Probably automated and sent out in batches over the next few hours. I did apply very early.

Probably later tonight. They've got at least 4,000 to get out

Could depend on where you live, IST date or location.

Or just the cool people got theirs first lol ;):)

    I've received mine also.

Good to know we will receive results before Christmas.

What is the rough dates of the actual examination period?

I don't mean actual dates and places but how long does it span?

I don't think there's anyway to find out. Although it seems like they are trying to get this campaign processed quite quickly as the notice period is quite short compared to some previous campaigns.

    No problem

    Have you applied before?

Is there any good books for IST?

Yeah I've applied for the last 2.

I didn't use any books to prepare before but I have bought one this time, it's been mentioned on here before 'How to pass the new police selection system'...haven't had a chance to look through it yet so don't know how helpful it will be, only cost a couple of £ on ebay.

The practice test they provide on joinpsni.com is ok and I've seen others suggest 11+ practice papers. I suppose anything that gets you thinking logically and processing information can only help.

Guys please do not post dates or rough dates or location places!! This forum is monitored by the PSNI and others! Think about your security and more importantly the security of others!!

Hopefully anyone who has applied will be intelligent enough to be mindful of persec but you never can be too sure.

Should have the same sort of software that prevents email addresses or phone numbers being posted on other sites but for dates instead.

Finally recieved mine as well! Can somebody please tell me whether you are allowed to do 'working out' at the side of the page? I noticed in the email it said no calculators but didn't say no rough notes ;)

From what I remember your are given a blank page, but are not allowed to remove it from the venue.

Yeah you get 1 blank page, mine contained random numbers for the numeracy part written all over it even if I could have removed it it would have been less than useless to the next guy lol

My writing is worse than a 3 year olds, if someone was able to read it they'd deserve the extra marks, although I'm rubbish at maths so it would probably be a hindrance rather than a help.

I got mine too but the date I've been given is right slap bang on a day when I could potentially get THE call for this campaign!!

I know it would go to voicemail but even so, would be gutted to be waiting on the call for C2 when in the middle of a C3 exam!!

Ask to swap, they do say it's first come first serve, so get in there fast, if you still want to attend but on a different day it's worth a shot.

No one knows where you are doing yours and probably best to keep it that way.

The good guys AND the bad guys monitor this forum.

I agree, never say anything like that on here.. For your safety and ours- consult Google maps! On a different note, from past experience how long is the IST? They said the whole process is 1.5 hours but is that broken down into smaller sections??

Yeah it's broken up into timed segments for each part of the test, 1.5 is pretty much spot on, from previous years, it's best to get there more than 30 mins early.

Stupid question probably been asked a hundred times.

Three sections on IST APPROX 30 mins each ?

How many questions in each section? Just practising timing thanks.

As far as I remember the numeracy part was longer than the other bits.

If memory serves me right you are not permitted to talk about what is in the test I.e time limits, number of questions etc the type of questions. You are warned about talking about this at your IST and have to sign documents that you will not discuss the test.

Have a look of the join psni website they have a practice test and use that.

Not requesting question info. Just numbers and time for completion strategy.
