Very vague post, womama! Try and give more information next time.

The new Apprentice UK starts March 26th. You can see the new candidates here.

Noticed on Aertel the other night that there was a Dub on it this year.
Looking at the BBC site it's Jennifer Maguire a 27 y.o. Marketing Consultant living in Bristol and apparently she can make the shape of a shamrock with her tongue... nice!

These blokes look they are going to spend more time watching their hair do's than tending to the tasks in hand.
Sir Alan will have them for breakfast...............

Personally I'm disappointed at the ratio of cocky:modest people this year. I'll probably enjoy watching it regardless, if only to see some of those people get a smack of reality.

The X-Soldier is my favourite already. Everyone else is dispicable based on those little interviews on the bbc site.

The last two are actually quite attractive if someone took a scissors and comb to their barnets. And they definitely aren't gay haircuts (well maybe the third one) unless you are a 12 year old who uses gay as an adjective to describe something bad.

I read that the second guy has given himself an additional surname, deLacy no less, because he is a barrister and wanted to sound posh...

I saw one trailer for the show and it looked like loads of rows between the girls, whereas usually the alpha males generate all the early friction allowing the girls to win the challenges.

No - I'm a 29 year old who uses gay as an adjective to describe something bad.

And they all need a good punch in the face to wipe those conceited smirks off them.

For all my fellow apprentice lovers, tonight 9pm ! i personally cannot wait!

For more info on the contestants
    http://www.bbc.co.uk/apprentice/

    We have an Irish representative:
    Jennifer Maguire
    Age 27
    Career Marketing Consultant
    Qualifications Irish leaving Cert
    Home Town Bristol

"I can sell anything. I can sell pieces of paper for £50 and making a living out of it."

Jennifer was born and brought up in Dublin. Rejecting university life in favour of instant earning, she hopped on a plane to New York where she waited tables in a restaurant. After a year in advertising sales back home, she ran her own successful advertising business in Brussels before taking up her current role, working within the fashion industry. Jennifer comes from a very large feisty family and isn't afraid to have her voice heard. She sees herself as outspoken, funny and open-minded but has vowed to win The Apprentice by keeping her enemies close by her side. Apparently she can make the shape of a shamrock with her tongue...

I saw a clip for the show where she claims "to be the best in Europe". I don't know what she was claiming to be the best as, her job presumably but it should be interesting.

Is it just me, but every year without fail the producers pick the biggest, loudest, ego tripping tossers going. TBH none of them have covered themselves in glory in business terms. "The best sales person in Europe"?? That's a ridiculus comment  Telesales Executive..... Big deal  Sales Manager.... Big deal  and so on yada yada yada...... These people are not high flyers. Spoofers, pure spoofers.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 17,863 ✭✭✭✭Utopia Parkway

They all came across as self-absorbed pricks to be honest. Well maybe bar one or two.

Thought the leader of the men's team should have got the bullet. He let his team split into two camps on the very first task and was quite transparently using the posh barrister as a scapegoat. What did he say in the boardroom? "I was working transatlantically before I was 21". ffs.

How bad was the barrister in defending himself though? He spoke very poorly I thought. Good luck to whoever gets him in court.

Is that Raef dude the new Tre? Arrogant self-centred maniac? Time will tell :D

I think I might get my granny to apply next year.... she'd make a better shape of selling fish than the 16 of them put together. Makes me wonder how they select people for the show.... Might apply myself next year for the craic!

Yeah Alex was a bit of a Tosser, he did cause divide in the team and he was wrong to bully and ridicule Little Nick in front of the rest of the team. Raef was alright although don't see any of the posh boys doing to well. On the Girls team no real thoughts Ms McGuire hasn't really done much to catch the eye. And Silly hat lady Lucinda looks like she ends up crying next week so not looking promising.
Its great to have The Apprentice back :)

It wasn't clear to me how the divide in the team developed. I think the lawyer was right to go. It was pretty pathetic that they couldn't do basic tasks like identify fish and price them.

ROFL. I thought I was the only one who thought of Little Britain everytime there was a shot of him. I'm sure he's not the only gay in the vill-ege though.

The start of The Apprentice is always fun. Lots of tossers trying to talk up how super they are and then showing themselves to be completely mediocre.

I think once the dressing down of Nick and then when he sent the boys off to sell the fish he kept the blokes he liked the best with him.

You could argue who should go, the barrister or the Team Leader, up until the boardroom. Nicolas basically fired himself - talking about uneducated people, and how he can't talk about football. Alan Sugar left school at 16 and he owns (used to own?) a football team. Nicolas might have as wall paint a bulls eye on his forehead. And he is a barrister, so I thought he will be able to put up a decent fight.

Personally I thought that Jimmy Carr's brother should have been fired. ;)

I loved him. There were moments, where you could see him thinking really hard how to say something in a really elaborate way, and then being delighted with himself when he came up with something. Brilliant.

This guy is gold. His "Look at the breasts on that" comment while showing a potential customer a side of cod bodes well. His montage of best bits on You've been Fired will be priceless

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 23,641 ✭✭✭✭Elmo

The guy who sold the remainder fish for 50 pounds should have been fired.

They go to a Solitors office selling the fish, They never mention the price of the fish, then they run off to the fish only to return to the office and have one of the solitors tell them that they have to sell for 50pounds at this stage otherwise they won't sell it.

Surely they should have discussed the price before they brought the fish to the office.

That's true, but they were deperate at this stage. And a lot of them made mistakes - i think the one with the pricing was a biggest one. Lobster for 4.95 a piece?

Will the "your fired!" programme be repeated? I totally forgot to sky+ it last night. :(
