Really picking up now, at this undisclosed Leinster location.;)

Tree's swaying under the force of the wind, I would say its starting its a 5+ on the beaufort scale.

M6 buoy is reporting 957mb and still falling. I thought I saw a prediction of 951 or similar on some chart here.

    We're not in Kansas anymore...

I haven't even started reading forum. Been reading bedtime stories to little un instead:rolleyes:, but they're packed away now.
You also got roped into it too;)
    A quick Q,
how low is the pressure likely to get?

    Meanwhile, the fall is increasing.
    down 3.7mb past hour.
    979.5 and gust to 43mph.
Between 952mb to 960mb, id say the latter will be close to our values.

The main core of winds are going to occur over the next 5-8 hours as the passage of the cold front, then after much of the country will be just breezy with but with severe gales/storm force winds along the far south coast with gusts to 80mph.

Widespread gusts to 60/70mph over the next few hours.

Expecially choppy along the easy coast with means of 45/50mph gusts to 70mph.

The current radar images are spectacular, should be some fairly impressive totals by the time this has blown through.

My aws is very exposed as mothman will tell you-so in very windy conditions, even if the rain is very heavy it under records as the wind blows the rain horizontal over the rain collector.

Frequent gusts close to 40mph here now.

  • Registered Users Posts: 2,246 ✭✭✭rc28

m3 buoy gusting to 67mph now.

Extreme winds here at the moment - a warning for those driving tomorrow, I was just out, there are plenty of branches falling already, so I expect some of those backroads will be dangerous.
