Have defintely just come to the conclusion that if you do have a craving for take away food you're just better of to make the low fat version at home. I'm only 2 weeks on weight watchers and it has really opened my eyes and I have to say I'm quite shocked when you look at the points in fast food. I used to eat it maybe twice a week or so and wondered how I was going up on the scales. You'd think things like a chicken wrap would be good for you! and like you say up there 11.5 points. It's so not worth it.

5lbs gone now and 10lbs to go!

    Hi all,
Quick question anybody know how many points wouldbe in smoked coley? I boiled it.
Would it be the same as smoked cod? In my WW book it says this is 3.5points per 300g!

    Thanks in advance!

    what about gluten free diets?
does ww have plans for ceoliacs?

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 8,057 ✭✭✭MissFlitworth

You pick the food you eat yourself and give it a points value, it's not a set meal plan or anything like that. As long as you can get the nutritional info for the foods you eat then I couldn't see any reason you wouldn't be able to follow it as a ceoliac. I don't think any of the ww premade meals/bars etc would be gluten free though

How many points in a 99 ice cream?

I think our leader said it was 9 including the flake! So almost half a days worth of food for a lot of people... :(

9 points for a 99 is so depressing!

    anyone know any good alternatives?

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 4,184 ✭✭✭neuro-praxis

Yes. You can buy your own cones in Aldi that come in at half a point. Then get some reduced fat or normal vanilla HB ice cream and weigh out a scoop and pop it on top for a couple more points.

Not quite the same, but still a nice treat.

    9?! In a 99?! Bloody hell - ya can't eat anything!!
I know I'm definitely going to regret askingn this, but how much in a ham and cheese jambon? [On a side note, anyone else think they've changed - more cheesier or something?!]

Just tell me how many points are in em and I'll have to stop eating the tasty little buggers...........!!

    Hey,

Forget the 99s ladies & gents opt for a Solero (1.5 pts) or loop da loop, tangle twister there are lods of nice ice-pops and ice creams for 1.5pts from the shops and there the pts of a WW bar!! :P

2 soleros this week and it feels great saying oh yes i will have one of them when being offered!!

So far i am in WW 15 weeks and i have 1lb to go to reach my 10% goal weight, i am over the moon and so happy i started eating this way.I have lost over a stone and feel great in myself :):)

If anyone is looking for new ideas for meals, snacks, lunches or meals have a look at the below link.

Ice CREAMs will have fat in them, so points will be higher. Ice POPs or sorbet types with no cream will be lower, even if they are the same calories WW points are higher for food with fats.

    I said before that a
600kcal portion of coconut is 21.5points
    600kcal portion of sugar/sweets is 8.5points

Thanks Ruth, was wondering that before, what are the 1.5 point options

Anyone know how many points in pringles? Whole pack - sour cream and onion.

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 4,184 ✭✭✭neuro-praxis

I am baffled as to why people can't simply look at the nutritional information on the food they are eating and calculate the points. I understand when it's something without a listing but Pringles? Just look at the side of the box!

    hi
I have a weding coming up just wondering if anyone could tell me how many points in the pub bottles of west coast cooler???
    Thanks

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 58,456 ✭✭✭✭ibarelycare

Hey, West Coast Coolers are only 2 points a bottle. You could also try having white wine spritzers with diet 7up as an alternative which, depending on how much wine you use, would probably only be around 1.5 points each.

hi there, does anyone know the rough points for those hot spicy chicken pieces that Centra put in their rolls? I'm giving myself 5 points for the roll itself, with no butter or mayo and the rest salad but I'm not sure what the chicken piece might be? I'd imagine the yummy coating on it could be quite bold!

Right, this might be a bit of a broad question but what is the lowest point chocolate (not weightwatchers choc though). I have a sweet tooth and want to keep the points low.

Most normal chocolate will be about the same per gram, the trick manufacturers use is pumping them with air, so you have tiny portions that seem the same size. So wispas, aeros, flake, creme eggs, kit kats, malteasers are fairly light.

Malteasers are sugar combs with a coating of chocolate, so the centre has no fat so should be lower in WW points than other bars (since chocolate has fat), even though they could be higher in calories, and could make you fatter, they might be lower in points.

A tip is eating high % cocoa chocolate since a little goes a long way, it is hard to demolish a high % bar, while I have put away a kilo of dairy milk in a day easily :pac:

Afraid I don't know which is lowest, but do beware of being ripped off by paying over the odds for low weight bars.

A low cal hot chocolate drink might give you a quick fix.

    Hi MILF

Regarding points the lowest would be some of what rubadub mentioned.
Malteasers are 3.5points, CurlyWurly 2.5points, Flake 4points (I think, not 100% sure on the flake). Those 3 would be your best bet.

I bring my WW calculater to the shops and point everything as I'm going it works wonders. Was in tesco today and there was a cheese salad that me and my friend seen, lots of calories. We pointed it 15.5 points!! SHOCKING !!

    Hope that helps!

I'm going to Lemon Jelly tonight for dinner and can't find an online menu to plan what to eat in advance. I think they typically do crepes and sandwiches - not great options.

Does anyone have any idea of the points in a large crepe? I can add points myself for the fillings.
