hi all new to this im 11stone 7 pounds not happy at all none of my clothes fit me. i was 11 stone 5 years ago and went to wight watchers and lost a stone and a half and was so happy but it gradually went on when i stopped. i have been back to weight watchers so many times since for a week or 2 and then id stop again just cant seem to settle at it. i could count for a day or 2 and then thats it. i was thinking of going back today but i will be away on work for next weeks way in do you think i should go back or wait till i come back i know when im away that i will have lots of time in the evening to exercise so i should be able to keep on track. do you think boards is good for motivation?

Chicken Satay from the chinese - the one I normally get has , Chicken, cashew nuts, peppers onions and sauce.
What is FAR more important is the weight. All Chinese takeaways I get are invariably massive. If you weigh your portions next time and post them up I will have a go at estimating them. Weigh the tubs full & empty, and weigh the rice & main dish separately.

Check out my post here to get an idea of what other dishes have, (satay will be high due to the fat content)

According to an old listing for Chinese food that I have, chicken satay comes in at 5.5 points per tray. The rice with it would be an additional 6.5 points.

    These are estimates.

Does anyone know how many points in a slice of homemade brown bread. Bought it from a shot as it looked healthy with lots of nuts etc. Have cut the slices quite thinly. I know the ones you buy in a supermarket already sliced vary from 1 to 1.5.

hiya, just wondering if anyone can help me with points in a square of cadburys chocolate?

    Thanks!

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 12 nikip

i think its two squares for 1.5 points

I would take that estimate with a giant handful of salt. As rubadub said you could easily eat your daily calorie/point intake for the day with a portion out of a curry shop.

a normal sized bar of cadburys chocolate has 8 squares and is 1 point per square!

It's one point per square. I find the thin bars of cadbury's great at 1.5. Alternatively, Curly Wurly's are 2.5, Time outs are 4, KIT Kats are 5 and those small new Aero bars are 3/3.5.

Since my mum has started doing Weight Watchers I've started seeing everything in terms of points value too .:)
On the subject of chocolate I'm reliably informed that a Kitkat Senses is 3.5 and that a bag of Malteasers are also 3.5.
I came across a website has lots of points values for just about everything. There's a big section for chocolate : http://ukladyluck1.piczo.com/chocolate?cr=5&linkvar=000044

Put up the recipe and weights and I will have a go. But you would have to then weight out your individual bits, but I could tell what the entire thing is.

i actually worked out the tin of chick peas, drained is around 6 points. seems very high to me but i worked it out with my points finder. also in the food list book, it has peanut butter down as 3.5points per 30g/1 tbsp.

saying that i made spicy hummus the other day, worked out at 9points for the whole lot. so far ive gotten good amount of use out of it. as in having tiny bit on 3 rice cakes. its just working it out how many points is in each bit of spread? i defo getting more out of it then if i was to seperate it into 9 parts so id know each part is 1point..

sorry thats confusing, or maybe just to me >.<

    Hey everyone,

Could any one tell me roughly how many points in a Supermacs Snack box!!

1 breast of chicken 1 piece of chicken (leg/wing) and of course the chips!!

Any help would be great.... I'm a sucker for them :(

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 842 ✭✭✭starflake

Can anyone estimate how many points are in the following? Thanks :)

    44g Sweet potato
    44g Tuna
    1 Spring onion
    Lemon Rind
    Corriander
    Pepper
    Lemon Wedges
    Green Beans

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 842 ✭✭✭starflake

Anyone like to hazard a guess on the above? I'd say about 2 points??

    Corriander
    Pepper
    Lemon Wedges
    Green Beans

    150g sweet potato = 2points, so 44g would be 0.6 so 1/2point
    70g tuna (in brine, drained)= 1point, so 44g 0.63 so 1/2 point
    spring onion = 0points
    Lemon rind = 0points
    Corriander = 0points
    Pepper = 0points
Lemon wedges = 0points (assuming you mean actual lemons)
    Green beans = 0points

So, 1point, but tbh I would round it up to 1.5points just to be sure.

    Hope that helps :)

Do you have any of the WeightWatchers books that you get when you join?? All the information is in these. If you don't have these then use a site to find calories and saturated fat (just google the nutritional info, I usually use caloriecount.com) and then use this site; http://points.ogo.ms/ to calculate points.

    It's pretty straight forward.

You need to stay out of Supermacs basically! These are estimates, based on other fried chicken.

1 coated fried chicken breast 7
1 coated fried chicken thigh 4.5 (wing, 3.5)
    Medium portion chips 7.5

You're looking at approximately 19 points.

I have a weekness for Supers (generally at 2.30 post niteclub), anyhow I contacted Supermacs as they don't have any nutitional info on net. I pointed the main elements they gave me info on. I'm thinking about 10-11 points going on chips below and Chicken brest sandwich but without the bun.

    Supermacs Points
    Smokey Bacon Burger 13.5
Chicken Wrap / Garlic Sauce 11.5
    Supermac with Cheese 11.5
    Mighty Mac 11
    Chicken Ciabatta 10
    Supermac 10
    Chicken Breast Sandwich 8
    Vegetable Burger 8
    Salad burger 7.5
    Cheese Burger 6
    Chicken Nuggets (6) 5.5
    Fries (155g) 5.5
    Salad Bun 5
    Chichen Tenders (3) 5
    Reg Burger 4.5
    Regular Mineral 2.5

You might be looking at more points than you think for the chicken breast, used to work in supermacs and the fillets in the chicken fillet burger are skinless but the chicken breast in the snackbox is skin-on. Also, and it's a pain in the bum, but when they're calculating the calories that are in your food they're basing that on whoever serves you giving you the exact recommended serving sizes, x grams of chips, x grams of sauce, that kind of thing. The servings you can actually get, especially late at night when the staff want full happy customers and not angry complainy ones, can be way larger. I was known to give the odd snack box that could barely be picked up in both hands to people. Oh the wonderful minefield that is eating out and losing weight :)

Yes, and it is in their interests to underestimate the values. I expect they have to send food off for testing so would send small portions to get low figures so they do not appear so bad.

If you are stuck with places with no info, or packets in supermarkets with no info then get the closest product you can.

KFC have all their info online
    http://www.kfc.co.uk/nutrition/
    chicken breast 285kcal 2.9g sat fat =5WW
    fillet burger 442kcal 2.3g sat fat =7WW

As far as I know the quick porridge sachets work out at 2.5 points per sachet, I used to have them every morning on WW and as far as I remember thats what they had. A teaspoon of honey has about half a point :)

I think a teaspoon of honey is a half point - pretty sure!

    That's great, thanks guys!

Decided to make the move from Special K to porridge starting today. Really found it quite filling. Found it quite hard to finish actually, wasn't used to something so warm so early in the morning!

Think it'll do nicely for the winter!
