I don't recommend spamming people recruitment messages.

You're not going to win many fans that way.

I am just saying if you are planning on setting up a WW2 re-enactment team you would be better served setting up a general Heer one and not one that carries the baggage that the Waffen SS do.

Also as an Airsofter I would not be comfortable playing with or against you in a uniform of that type. You may get an even more adverse reaction from some of our Polish or Eastern European brethren if they see the uniforms. Not to mention the field day the press could get out of this and use it to blacken the name of airsoft.

i have to agree with gandalf...i wouldnt be happy seein that uniform on a site givin what it stands for..i think regular german army would get a better response

i think people are making too much about the waffen ss thing, what next people not playing against people because they portray canadian army units??? the waffen ss was to the german army what the french forign leigion was to the french army!!
the waffen ss look is about the best/ most functional of all the WW2 uniforms/ loadouts!!

also bare in mind that a large portion of the waffen SS was involved with the fighting in North Africa and not with the concentration camps

    and russia!

And carried out an awful lot of atrocities in Russia. The baggage from associating with an organisation like this does not do Airsoft any favours at all.

the first thing that springs to mind when the waffen ss is mentioned is the death camps and atrocities in russia...regular german army doesnt have any of that stigma attached

I was just stating a fact. personally i'd be against an ss loadout

just to say Major Zero, you might want to change your sig. it is quite striking and i think it may offend some people

    just to quote wikipedia

"The Waffen-SS (German for "Armed SS", literally "Weapons SS") was the combat arm of the Schutzstaffel ("Protective Squadron") or SS, an organ of the Nazi Party. The Waffen-SS saw action throughout World War II and grew from three regiments to a force of over 38 divisions, which served alongside the regular army, but was never formally part of the Wehrmacht. It was Adolf Hitler's will that the Waffen-SS never be integrated into the Army: they were to remain the armed wing of the Party and were to become an elite police force once the war was over.[1] For this reason, although operational control of the Waffen-SS units on the front line was given to the Army's High Command, in all other respects they remained under the auspices of Reichsführer Heinrich Himmler's SS organization, and behind the lines these units were an instrument of political policy enforcement, including the implementation of the Nazi's "Final Solution" to the "Jewish problem".

After the war, in the Nuremberg Trials, the Waffen-SS was condemned as a criminal organisation due to its essential connection to the Party and its involvement in war crimes and the Holocaust. As a result, Waffen-SS veterans were denied many of the rights afforded to other German combat veterans who had served in the Heer (army), Luftwaffe (air force) or Kriegsmarine (navy)."

im sorry now to have spammed this thread so this is my final post in relation to this issue but i think the above speaks for itself

    +1

Read the charter, it says theres to be no discussion of nazi symbols, and I'm sure using one as a sig is bad too
Look I think you all are making way too much of this, I mean it was over 60 years ago and the Germans of that period didn't do anything to Ireland(us) so I don't know why us Irish people are getting worked up. I don't see any harm in it, if Major Zero wanted to set a WW2 101th American Airborn (The All-Americans, how racisit is that if you really want to open that can of worms) people would have any objections to it at all. Makes ya think. Its amazing just how easily some people can get sucked up in the swirl of mind-numbing propaganda from over 60 years ago and still be splirting their version of the truth, that is the kind of narrow-mindedness that holds us as a community back not the adventureses of the young.

i dont mind you posting you know gd info

well but u cant juring ww2 they were angry and looking for revenge for ww1 there country was demoralised,ss and waffen ss my have done some horric things but its wat they showed as soldiers they were were like every one else but there sight of what they were told was right.

so waffen ss and SS units were among most of there forces

what about the units that were not in the camps or in russian front or africa what about the ones who were in charge of defending there home.

Well that is kind of besides the point I was making bt that is just one more that can't complain about, Good luck wth your team and such shame that people just couldn't be open minded about this kind of stuff.

I think it's important to remember that this is the AIRSOFT TEAMS THREAD, perhaps you should take the ss discussion to the military forum

Actually I was just pointing the sig out because zero could get in trouble with the mods.

Agree with craigsy, we should probably move all these posts elsewhere so as not to clutter the thread.

Few things need to be addressed here.

    1. See the little exclamation mark symbol beside each post? It is the report post button. If you have a problem with post content and think it's in breach of the charter or want content removed, report the post.

Do not moderate the thread yourself.

    2. On the issue of Nazi related material, consult the charter please. We don't mind discussion of this if it's done in a tasteful way.

Tasteful meaning not plastering huge signatures featuring swastikas and other Nazi related symbols people will find offensive all over the forum. I don't care if you think it's all relative, don't do it.

Now leave it at that please.
