Why is the radar not making sense tonight? There's precip in north wales and just to the east of dublin that simply hasn't moved over the last couple of hours.

Its probably mostly anaprop (fake returns), that said that area has had some precip earlier as reported by Snowbie, and in a NE wind Dublin often is right in the firing line.

Looking at Snowbie zoom that looks like Howth head with a shower over it, entirely possible there lifting going on to Howth head in these winds , Killiney Hill often gets covered in cloud and drizzle in a NE wind too.

There are no postcodes in the south, you have to manually zoom in by dragging the box in the top left corner of the image (and then click "zoom in").
    Off topic too but there's a great satellite pic here;

We might get some showers before morning here on the coast with an increasing likelyhood of sleet or snow. However the main 'event' if you could call it that will certainly be tomorrow Afternoon/Evening/Night as I suspected earlier in the thread. ECM is progging some beefy showers off the Irish sea by then.

next week does look like it may be considerably colder than this spell but there is propably a better chance of us in the east with this one then what may happen next week.

Ditto, just gone negative here too. -0.8c for a few mins but remains below 0c.

    To all,
Can i just remind some folk on here that this thread is specifically about the semi beast from the semi east.
If there is a posibility of some more cold weather for next week, please start a thread on that.We would like to keep different events seperate.

    Cheers.

met.ie is back online and starting to show that precip around Anglesey and Isle of Man. The UKMO radar seems to pick it up better though.

    Ahem!
    We're discussing an easterly here.
Away with talk of westerlies :D

Just seen the bauld gerry with his forecast of snow on high ground at night.

Risk of shleet I think he said for the rest of us...

What a load of utter rubbish :)

It will be snowing in Glasnevin tomorrow and might I suggest we get a posseee up there some lasoo's and some whips corner the man and defy him to tell us that the flakes falling from the sky are shhhllleeet :D

We might have trouble catching him though, thats why Isuggest the lassoo because he'll be up there on the roof of the met building dancing around with the flame torch trying to melt the flakes as they fall lest his awfull forecast be caught out :D
