    Have spectacular lightning here again in North Galway, probably from the Galway City Storm, Seems to be more storms heading this way from the North West as well.

    was just about to post the same thing, lightning must have been less than a mile from the city to the East.

    Have some video of one or two of the strikes, will up load later.

    Im in Limerick too and same as the other lads saw plenty of lightening and very heavy rain. Power went in my area in Dooradoyle too but dunno if it was connected.

    Can confirm that lightning and thunder here in Newport Tipp. A railway signal got hit on the Newport/Limerick road and is currently closed warning of a train approaching for the last 2 hours...Gardai were there 30 mins ago.

    some of that could have been the lightning from newport. not really sure how far newport is from Limericfk, but that lightning was in the general direction of newport.

    I detected that storm at first over Clare and continued towards Cork where it died out.

    In what general direction did you take that Video from Squid?

    Newport would be around 16-18KM from Limerick city center. Not entirely sure myself!:eek:

    Not really thunderstorms, risk of severe gusts across Ireland and tornadoes on the Northern and Western coasts tommorow night according to Estofex.
